Chapter 12: Chapter 12: slippery-slippery fruit
Rashed arrived at Gekko Island under the cover of dusk, his black mask glinting faintly in the waning sunlight. The island was quiet, save for the whispers of waves lapping at the shore and the occasional rustle of leaves. His target was Slick Bill, a mid-tier pirate known for his slippery antics and the chaotic destruction he left in his wake. Rumor had it that Bill was a user of the Sube-Sube no Mi, the Slippery-Slippery Fruit, granting him frictionless movement and a knack for escaping any situation.
Rashed found Bill in the bustling town square, surrounded by his small crew of equally unimpressive pirates. Bill, a wiry man with a greased-up hairstyle and an obnoxiously loud laugh, was in the middle of scamming a merchant out of his wares.
"Hey! You know who I am?" Bill crowed, snatching a bag of gold coins from the trembling merchant. "Slick Bill! No one catches me, no one hits me, and no one stops me!"
Rashed stepped forward, his boots clicking on the cobblestones. The sound silenced the square. Bill froze, turning to see the black-masked figure standing at the edge of the crowd.
"Shadow!" one of Bill's lackeys stammered, dropping his weapon. "It's Shadow, the pirate hunter!"
Bill's confidence wavered for a moment before he puffed out his chest. "So, you're the infamous Shadow, huh? Well, good luck catching me!" With a flourish, Bill leaped into action, sliding across the ground as if he were skating on ice.
Bill's frictionless body allowed him to glide effortlessly through the streets, slipping through narrow alleys and weaving around obstacles. Rashed pursued calmly, his calculated movements contrasting Bill's chaotic, cartoonish evasion.
Bill laughed maniacally. "What's the matter, Shadow? Can't catch me? I'm too slick for you!"
Rashed didn't respond, his focus entirely on observing Bill's movements. The man was fast, but his path was predictable, and Rashed knew it was only a matter of time.
Finally, Rashed cornered Bill in an abandoned courtyard. Bill, panting but still smirking, pointed a finger at Rashed. "What now, bounty hunter? You can't even touch me!"
Rashed lunged forward and swung a punch, purposely leaving his Haki dormant. His fist grazed Bill's chest and slipped off, sending Rashed stumbling slightly.
Bill howled with laughter. "Did you see that? You can't hit me! No one can hit me! I'm invincible!" He danced around mockingly, slipping out of Rashed's reach with every exaggerated move.
Rashed's piercing gaze remained fixed on Bill, silently activating his Scan ability. After a few moments, he felt it—the Slippery-Slippery Fruit ability now stored in his system.
He stood upright, rolling his shoulders. "You're right," he said, his tone flat. "I couldn't hit you before."
Bill's grin widened. "Exactly! That's what I'm saying! I'm untouchable—wait, what do you mean 'before'?"
Rashed's fist ignited with the dark aura of Armament Haki, and his movements became a blur. Before Bill could react, Rashed delivered a clean punch to his gut, sending him flying into a nearby wall.
Bill wheezed, sliding down the wall like a ragdoll. "Hey, that's cheating! You can't just—gah!"
Rashed grabbed him by the collar and hoisted him up effortlessly. "You talk too much," he said, his voice cold. He casually slapped Bill across the face, sending him spinning in midair like a top.
Bill landed in a heap, groaning. "I... I thought you were just some scary bounty hunter... but you're insane!"
Rashed raised an eyebrow beneath his mask. "Insane? No, just thorough."
With Bill unconscious, Rashed tied him up and began dragging him back to town, ignoring the stares of the onlookers. One of Bill's lackeys poked his head out from behind a barrel and squeaked, "Uh, is he... is he dead?"
Rashed turned his head slightly. "Not yet."
The lackey fainted on the spot.
As Rashed secured Bill onto his ship, he muttered to himself, "Slippery? Sure. But no one's too slippery for me." A faint smirk crossed his lips as he set sail, for retrieving the bounty.

Use Customization authority to integrate frictionless motion with stealth technique Version 3 and add "iron body+sliperry body+ detachment body+ immunity to cutting" to make a new body and name it Immune body version 4. Also, upgrade all my 8 civilian skills to the max level of 10. I have 1.3 Billion belli, enough to upgrade those skills to the max.
After the upgrades, Rashed felt as though his body had transcended its limits. His movements were impossibly fluid, almost as if the laws of physics no longer applied. Testing his new Stealth Technique Version 4, he glided across the ground silently and effortlessly, faster than ever, his speed increased by 160%, leaving even the wind struggling to catch him.
Curious about his Immune Body Version 4, he drew his blade and slashed at himself, only to watch it slide harmlessly off his skin. Attempting to punch himself proved equally futile; his own hand slipped away, unable to make contact. A wry grin crossed his face—his body was truly untouchable now.
Upgrading all civilian skills to Level 10 had drained 980 million Berri from his system wallet, leaving him with 220 million, but the results were undeniable. His new powers, Stealth Technique Version 4 and Immune Body Version 4 redefined his potential, ensuring he could dominate any challenge ahead.
Rashed's relentless campaign across East Blue had made him a legend, feared by pirates and dreaded by Marine branches. The 1,500 SP he earned from clearing out bandits and pirates paled in comparison to the weight of his reputation. The Marines, frustrated and embarrassed, could barely keep up, whispering about a bounty hunter who was doing their job better than they ever could.
On Organ Island, fate took a dramatic turn. While hunting down a notorious pirate, Rashed crossed paths with Roronoa Zoro, a swordsman with a distinctive three-sword style. Zoro, chasing the same target, skidded to a halt upon seeing the infamous black-masked figure. His eyes narrowed in recognition.
"So, you're the bastard taking all my prey!" Zoro barked, his voice filled with frustration. "You've got some nerve, leaving me with nothing to hunt!"
Rashed didn't respond, his silent demeanor only fueling Zoro's irritation. Together, they quickly subdued the pirate with little effort, the bounty now irrelevant in Zoro's mind as he turned to face the masked figure.
"You think you're better than me? Stealing all the pirates across East Blue?" Zoro growled, his hand on the hilt of his swords. "I've heard enough about you, Shadow. Let's see what kind of swordsman you really are!"
The challenge hung in the air, Zoro's eyes burning with determination to test the skill of the man who had become his unspoken rival. Rashed, unflinching, simply drew his blade, his silent acceptance of the duel sending a chill through the air.
