One Must Face Challenges

"Hey kids line up, then write down your names and signatures, then collect an ID badge and take a wrist band. Come on people move it, move it, move it, let's go, let's go! " Lieutenant Paul Shouted.

"What's the hold up out here, why are you guys taking so long to board the ship."

Lieutenant Paul salutes then says, " Don't worry sir I'm overseeing that everything goes smoothly sir, I'm just ensuring that the kids are following protocol and checking to see if their well equipt for the Journey."

" Well hurry it up, and tell them to get a move on it, we gotta go like yesterday."

Paul salutes "Yes Sir! " Then turns to us and says, "You heard the man, hurry it up, we have no time to waste we have a deadline to meet, let's go, move your as*es, go, go, go, go! "

[ On Board ]

Captain Ross straps himself down in his seat and makes an announcement, "Everyone sit tight, and put your helmet's and seatbelt's on, were about to take off and listen to what I'm about to say carefully and I said carefully. Do . Not ."

He then unbuckles his seatbelt, stands up, walk over to Finster and Daniel Ford, leans forward and shouts in their faces, " Do. Not. Take your helmet's off nor unbuckle your seatbelts . un . less . I . -" He says and then point to himself " Tell you kids otherwise, Do you hear me !?!"

He then stands up straight, walk away, stands in the center, before all four kids and repeats.

" I said, Do you hear me !?!" He then shouts.

All four kids then jumps up out of their chairs, then salutes and responds " Yes Sir!"

He calmly replies " Good, Now fall in line, sit quietly in your chairs .... and wait for something interesting to happen." He then starts to walk away.

Finsters says out loud softly " ugh! It seems like, I am never going to see nothing interesting today out here especially and its worst that I'm way back here." He then holds his head down.

[ Five Minutes Later ]

"Captain I think there is something out there." Pilot number one says looking worried.

" Wait- What do you think it could be?" The captain asked with a smile on his face.

" I don't know, I have never seen anything like it, before in my entire life nor in my entire career and I have been a pilot for years now." Pilot number one explains.

The captain looks pilot number one up and down, smiles and says " I didn't ask you for your entire back story. See if you can get any closer to the thing out there, maybe it is something valuable."

" I've never seen anything like it, at all too but I have heard stories from others that there may be something out there, I strongly believe that, it was just a matter of time before we find something big, I knew we were bound to find something any at any moment." Pilot number two says and then starts to smile to himself.

The Captain and Pilot number one both looked at him for a second and made eye contact and laughed at pilot number two.

" Shut up, You know what, get up, I will be taking over from here now."

He looks pilot number two in his face, then says with an annoyed look on his face. "You can go sit in the back with the others, We are going to get whatever that is from out there and bring it back with us, we don't need you for that."

He then turns around in his chair and says to himself happily and very softly, "The boss is going to be so happy when he finds out about this. I wonder if I'm going to get a raise this time around. I would love that, I would really love and appreciate that."

" Come now . On . Ward . My fellow comrad, let's go get that treasur-ah! " He had a huge grin on his face.

And in that moment pilot number one saw something in the captain's eyes, something that he has never seen before throughout his entire career and it was happiness and maybe a little bit of greed, but for once in his life, he is genuinely happy for someone other than himself, and in this moment he appears to not mind been yelled at by his boss.

The captain then brutally smashes the emergency button. Then emergency lights kicked in.

" On. Ward. " The Captain yelled with a bleeding hand.

"Captain look, your hand, it's- it's bleeding ." Pilot number one says with worry in his eyes.

" Don't lose focus now, just pay attention to where your heading, all you have to is just look where your going! And don't lose sight of whatever that is, and you don't have to worry about me just keep your eyes on the prize-" The captain says with a smile.

" Right now all I smell is a nice spa day alongside a sweet vacation in this moment ... Now let's go earn that spa day." He says, and then laugh to himself.

[ Meanwhile A Room away ]

/ Three minutes earlier /

" Ugh! We never get to do anything fun sometimes, it's so boring here." Lieutenant Paul says looking miserable.

Serena then rolls her eyes.

He then looks at us from across the room smiles and says " Hmm, Okay then I'm going to find some type of amusement to keep me distracted. "

Lieutenant Paul then unbuckles himself from his seat, stand up and walk over to Finster, kneels down and askes with a smile, " Hey kid do want to play a game?"

Daniel Ford then butts in and says hastingly, " I want to play, can I join in?"

" Me- Me- Me too, I want to play a game with you guys." Alicia Telis says with a smile on her face.

She then lowers her head a little bit and shakes her head and says, "I am bored out of my mind here, I can't believe, I am stuck with these losers."

She then unbuckles herself from her seat, stand up and point at Finster, Stacy Ash and Daniel Ford and then say with a sad tone of voice, " There no fun at all, I wish I was put on a different team."

Serena then unbuckles her self, stands up, walks over to Alicia Telis, spinned her around and slapped her in the face. Alicia is now holding the left side of her face that was slapped.

Everyone instantly went quiet and everyone including lieutenant Paul, Finster, Alex, Daniel Ford, and Alicia were all surprised at Serena's sudden behaviour. Alicia then sat down with her hand on cheek, still in disbelief that, she got slapped.

" Why- why did you hit me?" Alicia asked sat, and still holding her face feeling upset.

" I am so disappointed in you, I have never expected such a behaviour from you at all.

I was expecting that from the boys but not from you, I just want you to know that everyone you see here worked very hard to prove themselves and earned the right to be here right now.

So don't you ever disrespect any member of this team nor undermind the fact that they worked their a*s off to be here and not just every and anyone can be here, so that means something.

Now I'm wondering if you been here was a mistake from the start, and the worst part about all of this, is that this is your first time out here, this is your first time with the team and this also the first time you have met those three kids.

Which gives you no right to judge anyone before even getting to know them, experience is not build on the first few minutes on the job, but months to years of working on tasks, doing a regular job or just simply working with a company.

And remember nothing in life is easy, so now I am contemplating whether I should let the boss know of your disgusting behaviour, because I find it very unbefitting of a future member of this team to act like this and sadly, I don't see that happening in the future after reflecting upon your behaviour today."

Alicia then jumps up out of her seat,broke down in tears and said, " Who do you think you are,*sniffs , your not my mother, which gives you have no right to talk to me like that,*sniff- sniff, and how dare YOU judge ME, do you know who your talking to?

Huh! do you?"

Finster quickly unbuckles himself out of his seat, jumps up and says, " Hey how dare you talk to miss serena like that."

" No finster it's okay, just sit back and let me handle this." Serena said to finster so that he feels reassured.

Lieutenant Paul then slowly makes his way over to Alicia, Finster and Serena, he then moved Serena out of the way, Alicia then starts to smile and fold her arms.

Lieutenant Paul then turned, facing Alicia and as she was about to say something, surprisingly he then slapped her in the face, she broke down into tears immediately and everyone's draw dropped to the floor.

Everyone is probably thinking now why did Paul slap Alicia?

" Sir why did you slap me and on the same left cheek as her-" she said, then pointed at Serena, with tears in her eyes, while holding her left cheek. " It hurts so much."

*Hickup* Feeling defeated she sat back down onto her chair, and broke down into tears even more and then she threw a hissy fit.

" The way you spoke to your elders is so disrespectful, no matter your position in life or in a company. Power should never dismiss nor undermind respect. You crossed a line and now you should repent by apologizing to all of us, Now! "

Trying to get out of apologizing, Alicia tried to say, "But- "

Lieutenant Paul stopped her before she could finish and demanded an apology, "Apologize now! "

Alicia walked up to every single member of the team one by one, and then every single mentee and apologized. She then sat back down and held her head down the entire time.

Daniel Ford whispers "That feels like damage control."

Stacy Ash says " shh! " and then they both made eye contact and looked away instantly.

Lieutenant Paul was about to walk away, but serena had to ask, " why- why did you do that sir, why did you defend me is it because you want me to own you or something?"

Strangely lieutenant Paul only said "No" calmly, turned his back, walked away and sat down looking all sad and upset.
