Northern Myanmar: Bloodshed in the Golden Triangle, Have I Become a General?

Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Zhao Renzhou: Sister-in-law, Kneel Down!

On the other side, Zhao Renzhou’s subordinate, Zhao Hu, received the call, and his eyes immediately turned red.

“You dare to betray Big Brother?!”

“Goddammit!”

He looked at his subordinates who were still playing cards and picked up a nearby bottle of liquor, smashing it on the ground. Glass shards scattered everywhere, startling everyone in the room.

Zhao Hu said viciously, “Stop playing, all of you!”

“Get your weapons!”

“Chen Jinlong betrayed Big Brother!”

As soon as they heard this, Zhao Hu’s subordinates couldn’t sit still.

“What?!”

“Chen Jinlong betrayed Big Brother?!”

“Is Big Brother okay?!”

“Where is Big Brother?!”

Zhao Hu shouted, “Stop making noise, damn it!”

“Big Brother is fine for now!”

“Control Chen Jinlong!”

“Ah Bao, take a group of people and surround Chen Jinlong’s house.”

“Wait for Big Brother to arrive.”

“The rest of you, come with me.”

“Goddammit!”

“Today, we’re going to wipe out those bastards!”

A man who looked similar to Zhao Hu but was just as fierce, Zhao Bao, stood up. Zhao Hu gave some instructions to Zhao Bao, who nodded and then signaled for his men to follow him out.

Zhao Hu and Zhao Bao were brothers, and both were Zhao Renzhou’s trusted subordinates. One was fierce, and the other was crafty. They had no personal loyalty to Chen Jinlong or his men, and it had long been clear that they didn’t like each other.

While Zhao Renzhou and Chen Jinlong had a bond from their past, their subordinates had no such loyalty. They had seen each other as rivals for a while now. They just didn’t expect Chen Jinlong to be so ruthless this time, using a birthday celebration as a pretext to deceive Zhao Renzhou. If it weren’t for a change in circumstances, Zhao Renzhou might have met his end.

That night, the sound of gunfire in Gawei Town was incessant.

Of course, that’s another story…

While Zhao Hu led a large group of men to clean up Chen Jinlong’s underlings, Zhao Bao and his men had surrounded Chen Jinlong’s villa. It was hard to believe that in a place like Gawei Town, filled with shabby buildings, there was such a massive mansion.

The mansion, a three-story structure that resembled a castle, stood in the center of a vast courtyard. In each corner of the courtyard were towering watchtowers, with guards stationed on top of each one.

A group of people had stopped at a considerable distance from the estate. This was their territory, Chen Jinlong’s mansion. Zhao Bao was well aware of the layout, the number of guards, and everything else.

With Zhao Bao included, there were twelve people in total, divided into four groups, each approaching the mansion separately.

Inside the mansion, Chen Jinlong’s wife, also known as Madam Chi Yunmeng, was wearing a tight qipao that accentuated her curvaceous figure. Her shoulder-length wavy hair added a touch of laziness to her appearance.

At this moment, Madam Chi Yunmeng stood by the window with a slight frown, feeling uneasy. She was aware of the plan to kill Zhao Renzhou, but she didn’t know if it was due to the weather or some other reason. The misty drizzle outside was particularly irritating.

Chi Yunmeng shook her head and picked up a highball glass from the coffee table nearby, emptying the red wine inside in a single gulp.

Suddenly, gunshots rang out: bang, bang, bang! Bullets flew, shattering the glass and causing a cacophony of broken glass sounds.

Outside, a mixture of Burmese and Thai curses and the continuous sound of gunfire could be heard. Inside the villa, Chi Yunmeng, at the moment when the gunshots began, had already taken cover behind a wall. Her heart pounded as she realized that something had gone terribly wrong.

As the gunshots continued and the attention shifted away, she quickly rushed to the sofa, grabbed the phone placed on the coffee table, and dialed a number without hesitation.

The call was answered immediately, but it wasn’t Chen Jinlong’s voice on the other end. Zhao Renzhou’s voice came through the phone with a hint of playfulness:

“Hello?”

“Is this Big Sister-in-law?”

“Big Brother got drunk.”

“I’m here to take him home.”

“Are you at home?”

Accompanied by the sound of an engine revving.

Chi Yunmeng didn’t hesitate and simply hung up the phone. She couldn’t help feeling annoyed.

“It really went wrong…”

What happened? Were they idiots? They drugged him and tied him up, and they couldn’t even bury a person properly? Chi Yunmeng quickly dialed another number, but something didn’t feel right. The sound of the car engine didn’t disappear after ending the call; in fact, it was getting louder and louder. Chi Yunmeng’s pupils suddenly constricted, and she turned her head just in time to hear a deafening explosion.

Boom!

The entire villa shook from the impact.

The pitch-black jeep roared as it crashed through the door, nearly surrounded by the opposition.

However, it stood firmly in the center of the hall. Zhao Renzhou’s head spun for a moment, and he shook it to clear his thoughts. He grabbed his shotgun and pushed aside the airbag, then kicked open the car door with a loud bang.

Thud!

The car door dropped to the ground, and Zhao Renzhou stepped out with his shotgun in hand. He aimed it at the bewildered Chi Yunmeng and spoke in a playful tone:

“Big Sister-in-law.”

“Kneel down.”

“Don’t move.”

“Bullets don’t discriminate, you know…”
