Chapter 57: Date (2)
"Ahhhh!" Momoi's scream pierced the air, a mix of fear, but even more so of excitement and joy.
At the same time, Shiro a gripped Momoi's hand tightly, joining her in the scream, savoring the thrill of the moment. The roller coaster slowed to a halt amidst the shouts of the crowd around them.
Momoi's face radiated a sense of lingering exhilaration, still caught up in the thrill. It was an addictive feeling, especially with someone she liked by her side to share the fun. That was what made her truly happy.
"Was it fun?" Shiro asked excitedly, his gaze resting on Momoi, whose face was flushed. He couldn't help but break into a cheerful smile.
"Yeah, yeah, it was so much fun! Shiro, let's try something else! What do you want to do next?" Momoi asked eagerly.
"Let's take a break first, maybe ride the carousel or somethin" Shiro suggested softly, a hint of concern in his voice. He worried that if they kept going for the intense rides, it might be too much for Momoi, so he proposed a gentler option.
"Okay, I'll listen to you" Momoi agreed, her voice tender. She followed closely behind Shiro, her gaze filled with affection as she watched his back.
They arrived at the carousel, a place that felt particularly quiet, with only a few children playing nearby.
As they waited for the next ride to start, Shiro gently took Momoi's hand, helping her up onto one of the horses and making sure she was secure before sitting beside her. Smiling, he reminded her softly, "Momoi, make sure you don't fall off."
"How could I? You're here with me, aren't you? Don't jinx it!" Momoi's eyebrows rose playfully, and she shot Shiro a pretend-annoyed look before quickly returning to a happy expression, gazing around with delight.
At that moment, the carousel began to turn, and Momoi felt the gentle sway of the ride. A joyful smile lit up her face as she immersed herself in the simple pleasure.
All around, the sound of children's laughter filled the air. Shiro couldn't take his eyes off Momoi, and his lips curled into a gentle smile.
Momoi seemed to sense his gaze. She turned to face him, her lips curving upward like a crescent moon, revealing dimples that made her smile all the more charming. In that instant, Shiro felt like he was seeing the most beautiful sight in the world.
"The face that launched a thousand ships" Shiro suddenly remembered the line from an old poem. Only now did he truly understand its meaning.
Momoi's smile was so captivating that everything else seemed to fade. Shiro stared at her, completely absorbed by her charm.
Meanwhile, Momoi's eyes never left Shiro. They locked eyes, and time seemed to stand still. In each other's gaze, they saw only one another, and everything else faded into insignificance. At that moment, they seemed to forget the world around them, leaving only their pure, beautiful connection.
After that, they set out to enjoy the entire amusement park, riding every thrilling ride and laughing together at every turn.
As the evening settled in, the world seemed to quiet down, and only their laughter echoed in the air. They took photos together, capturing the joy of the moment, they tasted different snacks, sharing their likes and stories, they walked hand in hand along the park's pathways, enjoying the gentle evening breeze.
As night descended, the amusement park lights came to life, bathing the surroundings in a dreamy glow. They basked in the colorful radiance, their spirits soaring.
Finally, Shiro slowly led Momoi to the imposing Ferris wheel.
"This is the last one, let's go" They walked side by side, their hands never parting. Momoi nodded, stepping into the cabin with Shiro.
The cabin wasn't large, but it had plenty of space for the two of them. Momoi leaned closely against Shiro's shoulder. Even though they weren't officially a couple, at that moment, all she wanted was to quietly stay by his side and savor each passing second.
Shiro sat quietly, feeling the warmth from Momoi. His eyes drifted to the window, taking in the view of towering buildings reaching for the sky.
By now, night had fallen, but the city's lights made the sky as bright as day.
As their cabin reached the highest point, Shiro took out his phone, quickly tapping a few buttons before hitting send. Almost instantly, a simple reply came back: "Got it"
But just as Shiro was about to put his phone away, a loud bang shattered the peaceful atmosphere.
Suddenly, a burst of colorful light shot into the sky, leaving a trail of gray smoke behind. In the blink of an eye, a dazzling "flower" of fireworks burst open in the night sky, breaking into countless sparkling fragments like stars, illuminating the darkness.
Hearing the explosion, Momoi's ears perked up. She raised her eyes to the sky, watching the fireworks burst in a dazzling display that took her breath away. She couldn't help but move closer to the window, marveling at the scene.
"Look, Shiro! The fireworks are so beautiful!" she said softly, her voice filled with wonder.
Meanwhile, Shiro sat quietly behind her, somehow holding a large bouquet of bright red roses. His gaze was tender and full of emotion, as if he wanted to pour all his feelings into that moment.
Just then, a buzzing sound came from outside the window. A swarm of drones flew by like a flock of birds. The people in the park, who had been watching the fireworks, paused in curiosity. They looked at the mysterious drones, wondering what was about to happen.
To everyone's surprise, the drones quickly formed a pattern, their lights flashing to reveal clearly visible words:
Satsuki Momoi, I ❤ You!
This unexpected scene left everyone in awe, and Momoi's eyes widened, disbelief all over her face. Then, thousands of colorful heart-shaped balloons floated into the sky like a rainbow cloud, gathering around the Ferris wheel.
At that very moment, Momoi and Shiro's cabin had reached the peak of the Ferris wheel and quietly stopped. Time seemed to freeze, leaving only the two of them in the world. A gentle breeze stirred, making the balloons sway, creating a magical atmosphere.
