Naruto: Uchiha Rejects Konoha

Chapter 79: 79. All For Uchiha

"Good grief! Your dear Nii-san was almost dead, and I had to push you to awaken the Sharingan. But then you find out you were deceived by him and go straight to Two Tomoe!"

Sasuke must have some serious emotional scars!

Mikoto rolled her eyes, uninterested in how the Fugaku family tried to console Sasuke. Either way, the Sharingan had awakened, and her mission was accomplished.

After returning to her room, Mikoto used the Flying Thunder God mark she had previously placed at the Daimyo's mansion to bring back Shisui, who would temporarily replace Itachi.

Using Kotoamatsukami on Orochimaru was a task that couldn't wait. Since everyone believed Shisui was still at the Daimyo's residence, even if Orochimaru noticed a change, he wouldn't suspect anything.

"Flying Thunder God! Mikoto, have you mastered this technique, too?"

Shisui looked at Mikoto in shock. The Fourth Hokage was called Konoha's Yellow Flash due to this very technique, which was once recognized as the fastest in the ninja world.

Shisui's own "Body Flicker Shisui" reputation was rooted in his speed, but the Body Flicker couldn't compare with the Flying Thunder God in certain aspects.

When Konoha granted the Uchiha access to the Book of Sealing, Shisui tried to combine the Flying Thunder God with his teleportation, but he didn't succeed.

But seeing Mikoto use the Flying Thunder God to bring him from the Daimyo's mansion to Konoha astonished him.

This S-Rank Forbidden Technique might not be the most powerful, but it was certainly difficult to master.

"Don't tell anyone! This will be a major trump card for me... ahem! One of my main assets for the family, and it can't be revealed easily."

Goodness! Why'd I think that out loud? Fortunately, Shisui is still loyal, so it's not an issue.

"I understand, but you should also be cautious. Though space-time ninjutsu is hidden, some people can detect the fluctuations. If you want to avoid being discovered, use it carefully."

"Got it, got it! I know the risks. I brought you back because I need you to use Kotoamatsukami on Orochimaru. There's no need to change all his intentions—just enough to make his future actions serve the Uchiha."

Mikoto knew that altering Orochimaru too drastically could stifle his scientific research talent.

Plus, Mikoto didn't want to miss out on the Konoha Crush Plan.

It wasn't often one could witness the end of a Hokage openly.

So, Orochimaru, after you leave Konoha, do as you please. Just keep in mind that everything is for the Uchiha.

"All for the Uchiha! Mikoto, do you want Orochimaru to continue his antagonistic stance toward the village?"

Shisui pondered for a moment and caught on to her plan.

"Exactly! By ensuring Konoha faces continuous problems, we can leave safely.

The Uchiha's future home might be the former Uzumaki clan's island or a newly established harbour terminal.

In any case, it won't be Konoha anymore."

"Once we leave the village, the higher-ups will not let it go. We need to keep them busy so they don't have time to meddle with us, Uchiha.

Once we're settled, with the distance and independence, they won't be able to reach us."

Since Shisui would be managing the harbour initially, Mikoto felt it was crucial he understood the importance of his mission.

As they spoke, Mikoto had already teleported Shisui to the police department prison's secret chamber. She'd set aside this chamber specifically to mask her use of the Flying Thunder God.

"Danzo... why did you do this? Experimenting with Wood Release and on orphans—I can understand if it's for the village's strength, but to turn yourself into this... for what reason?"

Before leaving the chamber, Mikoto heard the Third Hokage speaking to Danzo, who was detained nearby.

Mikoto and Shisui exchanged glances but remained silent. The Third Hokage's private visit to Danzo likely meant he had something personal to say.

"Why! You know nothing, so you dare ask me why. Sarutobi, you think you're noble while I, Danzo, am left in your shadow!"

Danzo, who had initially been calm, appeared agitated as he looked at the Third Hokage with a ferocious expression.

"We, the Shimura clan, are just an ordinary ninja family.

We don't have powerful bloodlines like the Uchiha or Hyuga, nor do we possess secret techniques, nor Chakra traits like your Sarutobi clan."

"Every time the teacher looked at you, it was always you—never me. But I also want to be Hokage!"

"In terms of effort, I've worked just as hard as you. In terms of strategy, I'm no worse. And in ruthlessness, I resemble the teacher the most. But I lack the raw power, the strength to protect the village!"

"What's wrong with me seeking power to become Hokage? And you, you've already stepped down as Hokage, yet you're still clinging to it! I've done so much inhuman work for you, and now you block me from my Hokage path, Sarutobi! How can you even question me?"

Danzo's exposed eye glowed red as he posed his soul-crushing question to the Third Hokage.

"I never expected you to be so obsessed with the title of Hokage," replied the Third Hokage with a deep sigh. "But, Danzo, after all you've done, do you really think you can still become Hokage? And what about Nawaki and Dan? You think killing them could secure you the position?"

Hearing this, Yagami and Shisui were taken aback.

"Hah… Sarutobi, it seems you haven't truly given up on the Hokage title! You even know about that… Yes! I did what was necessary, but tell me, Sarutobi Hiruzen, can you truly claim innocence? If Nawaki hadn't died, he would've been the next Hokage. Would you have let that happen?"

"Don't act like I'm the only one responsible. Without your approval, could I have made such moves?"

Danzo's laughter turned cold as he admitted it openly, recalling how the Senju clan had been gradually wiped out since the Second Hokage's time, leaving only Nawaki. If he had to disappear, then so be it!

"And what about Dan? He aspired to be Hokage, too, but with Tsunade's support, he wouldn't have been easy to challenge. Why did you target him?"

The Third Hokage didn't deny Danzo's claims. They were alone, with Orochimaru still under a genjutsu and unaware of what was happening.

"I didn't set out to kill him. There are plenty of others in Konoha who want to be Hokage. But he was investigating Nawaki's death for Tsunade. Through his spirit technique, he had begun to uncover some things. I had no choice but to ensure his location was exposed during one of his spirit technique uses. I didn't expect Tsunade to be so devastated by his death; that was an unforeseen bonus."

Danzo spoke with indifference, feeling no remorse.

For the sake of power, the Third Hokage had condoned it. He, Danzo, could justify doing the same.

"Danzo, you've completely lost it! I'll admit, I had plans for Nawaki, but I never intended for him to die. That's where we differ!"

The Third Hokage fell silent for a moment, perhaps justifying himself, before finally speaking.

"Hah… Sarutobi, we're indeed different."

"In comparison, I'm far more decisive! The teacher should have chosen me to be Hokage. My strength may not match Uchiha Kagami, but I'm more resolute than you. You didn't outmatch me in any way, yet you became Hokage."

As Danzo's words grew increasingly unhinged, the Third Hokage turned and left. He had come seeking answers, and with Danzo's admission, there was nothing more to say.

In the secret chamber, Mingfeng and Shisui fell silent for a moment. Yagami took it in stride, already aware of Konoha's dark political manoeuvres. But for Shisui, despite having distanced himself from the village, hearing these revelations left a lasting impact.

Shisui still remembered how the Third Hokage and Danzo both had told him, "Everything is for Konoha!"

Yet, these same people, who spoke of loyalty, had led Konoha to wither even more.

"Let's go. We can't change anything after hearing this. The Third Hokage will naturally destroy all evidence he finds here. Just remember it."

Yagami patted Shisui on the shoulder. He wanted to reveal this to Tsunade, knowing it might sever any remaining loyalty she felt toward the Third Hokage. But without proof, any claims would only result in Third Hokage shifting all blame onto Danzo.

As for Danzo, he would take on more charges. Either way, he was a marked man; it made little difference.

"Uchiha was right to leave Konoha," Shisui concluded and then headed toward Orochimaru.

When Danzo saw Yagami approach, he raised his head slightly. But before he could speak, he was ensnared in an illusion to prevent him from witnessing the application of Kotoamatsukami on Orochimaru.

Soon, the genjutsu over Orochimaru was overtaken by the effects of Kotoamatsukami, and he awoke. Orochimaru gave Yagami and Shisui a subtle smile but said nothing.

"That will be all for now. When the time comes, I'll release you."

Yagami spoke, and Orochimaru played along, pretending to remain controlled by the illusion.

This was the true power of Kotoamatsukami. Orochimaru's core intentions were unchanged—except now, his underlying loyalty was directed toward the Uchiha.
