Naruto: Uchiha Rejects Konoha

Chapter 19: 19. Are You Shimura Clan So Brave!

"Yagami! Don't mess around. The family's development is just on the right track, and now is not the time to have conflicts with the village."

Hearing this, Fugaku frowned slightly, speaking in a worried tone.

Given Uchiha's current strength, a conflict with Konoha would inevitably lead to mutual losses.

Even with three pairs of Mangekyō Sharingan capable of ensuring dominance in high-level combat, many family members are ordinary people.

And the Mangekyō Sharingan can't be used indefinitely; overuse leads to blindness.

In any case, Danzō is the Hokage's assistant, holding a status just below the Hokage. If things go too far, it will become troublesome.

"I understand. Have Shisui and Itachi return; the next steps will need their cooperation."

Yagami thought for a moment and decided to recall the two young men assigned to missions abroad. These two are different from other Uchiha; their independent thinking is too strong, so ideological and political education alone isn't sufficient.

Itachi is manageable; his deviation isn't severe. So, Yagami stationed him at the Daimyō's mansion, leading about 20 Uchiha responsible for the Daimyō's safety. One goal is to broaden his horizons beyond the family and village.

Staying in Konoha, outside the family, his world is just the village, but by staying with the Daimyō, he'll realize there is a vast ninja world beyond.

This also reflects Uchiha's sincerity toward the Daimyō, directly assigning the clan head's son to the guard force, clearly demonstrating the clan's respect for the Daimyō's order.

Shisui's issues are more significant, and Yagami's arrangement for him is straightforward. He assigned him to the combat unit, leading a team in constant battles. With his strength, it's a waste for him to focus on relations between the family and village instead of combat.

Under Yagami's influence, Shisui's mindset has started to shift. Whether this period of killing will make this idealistic guy abandon the so-called Will of Fire remains to be seen.

It's not about becoming Hokage to be recognized by everyone; it's about being recognized by everyone to become Hokage. Yagami has no patience for such nonsense.

In the current ninja world, as long as one's strength is overwhelming, who fears rejection? If this group doesn't approve, eliminate and replace them…

Seeing that Yagami was serious, Fugaku didn't press further. He isn't adept at dealing with the village, so he'll let Yagami handle that. Personally, he prefers the simple pleasure of counting money each day.

Fugaku's attitude made Yagami look up, though he didn't comment. The Uchiha clan head placed significant trust in him.

This might be related to his ocular power. Rumour has it that Fugaku's Mangekyō can glimpse fragments of the future. Perhaps, after seeing Yagami's arrival, he saw Uchiha's fate change, leading to Yagami's considerable influence within the clan.

Yagami's current status in Uchiha is due, on the one hand, to the clan's recognition of his actions and, on the other, to Fugaku's tacit and hidden support.

······

As the ninja disappeared in a cloud of smoke with the information, Uchiha also began to move. The family's idle shinobi donned combat uniforms, forming three-person teams to secure the clan's business district.

There are quite a few shinobi in Uchiha, and with such a large number of personnel deployed at once, they can essentially ensure a team is watching an average of two stores, and this is just the fixed team.

The number of mobile patrol teams has also increased to eight, along with many others monitoring the situation covertly.

If you, Danzō, can incite villagers and shinobi to cause trouble here, then we'll deploy more people to guard against you and prevent such actions.

Of course, this is simply a determined measure to protect the family business. The Uchiha Police Department squad originally responsible for this area did not make an appearance at this time.

As the captain of the police department, it's not an issue to adjust the department's area of responsibility, especially now that he's reallocating Uchiha's teams, leaving the others with nothing to say.

At this moment, six Uchiha police squads are maintaining order in the Shimura clan's district and industrial area. Yagami's approach is straightforward: he can't directly target Danzō, but he can make things difficult for the Shimura clan.

If you use civilians to provoke the Uchiha, I'll use the authority of the police department to target your clan and see how many Shimura clan members I can detain!

Of course, close contact with the Shimura clan still poses risks, so Shisui has secretly guarded these teams since his return.

Although the boy's thinking hasn't been entirely altered, after his experience of having his eye gouged out and with Yagami's ongoing influence, he's still capable of protecting his clan.

With the strengthened security around Uchiha's assets, potential troublemakers are clearly aware of it and become fearful, hesitating to act.

They aren't fools; the tactics Uchiha has used recently have been intense, and now they realize that any actions against Uchiha's assets may come at a steep price.

For a time, Industry Street returned to its usual calm.

Meanwhile, the Shimura family's life became increasingly difficult. Shimura Taro, who had just completed a mission, drank some sake in an izakaya, felt a bit unsteady, and accidentally bumped into a member of the Uchiha police department passing by.

Before Shimura Taro could react or apologize, one of them shouted:

"How bold! You dare to attack the police department's patrol squad on the street!"

Shimura Taro was stunned. Attack the police department? This is absurd! He just accidentally bumped into him!

"No! I didn't mean it! This is a misunderstanding! Please, don't act rashly, I… ah!"

Seeing the police department members rush toward him, Shimura Taro panicked. Just as he was about to explain, a heavy blow knocked him back.

"Misunderstanding? Do you think our Sharingan is for show? We all saw it clearly. Are you suggesting we're slandering you?"

The police department captain spoke loudly, not giving him a chance to explain, and immediately detained him.

"Wow! The Shimura clan is getting too audacious, even daring to assault the police department. Do they really think having a Hokage assistant at home allows them to act as they please?"

"But this isn't surprising! Haven't you heard? The Hokage's assistant has strong opinions about the Uchiha. The Shimura clan aligns with his views, so maybe he bumped into them on purpose."

"Don't jinx it! It's finally Uchiha's turn to manage security in our area. If the Shimura clan keeps this up, what if they drive them away?"

The onlookers began to chatter, casting sceptical glances at Shimura family merchants.

Some things can't be openly discussed but can be implied. Public opinion isn't something only Danzō can manipulate.

Yagami can not only wield public opinion but does so even more skillfully than Danzō. The Uchiha clan, known for their prowess in illusions, doesn't need many people to spread information.

Shimura Taro was the first to be detained, but he certainly wouldn't be the last. After that, the six Uchiha Police Department teams continued detaining and escorting people throughout the day.

The charges varied widely, but all detainees were from the Shimura clan, both shinobi and civilians.

The remaining ninjas at the police department were taken aback, glancing at the Shimura clan liaison as if to say, "Is the Shimura clan really this bold? Gathering to cause trouble?"

Although the exact reasons were unclear, it didn't stop these ninjas from enjoying the spectacle. Danzō's animosity toward Uchiha was no secret; everyone was aware of it.
