Chapter 68: Stop
Chapter 68: stop
"Snap!"
Kunai stopped just short of
piercing Hyuga Yutaka's heart.
A hand grabbed Kiba's wrist,
preventing the fatal blow.
Namikaze Minato, holding the
Flying Thunder God Kunai in his teeth, had one hand on Kiba's wrist and the
other on Hyuga Yutaka's wrist.
Hyuga Yutaka held a kunai with an
explosive tag at the end, ready to throw.
Kiba's eyes widened slightly,
looking at the kunai.
Hyuga Yutaka is willing to die! If I stab him in the
heart, this kunai with the explosive tag will also hit me. Even if it doesn't,
the explosive tag will detonate, and I'll be badly injured, if not killed!
Kiba frowned slightly.
No... There should be a moment to dodge. Injuries
are certain, but death is not inevitable!
"Both of you, calm down.
Although I don't know what you learned about it, you don't need to kill each
other!" Namikaze Minato said seriously.
That thing? What is he talking about?
Kiba was confused. Hyuga Yutaka
wanted to kill him, so he aimed to kill Hyuga Yutaka in self-defense. Normally,
he wouldn't resort to killing, even with Hyuga Yutaka's animosity.
He wasn't a murderer with a strong
desire to kill; he had a normal psychology. However, if Hyuga Yutaka went too
far, Kiba would severely beat him but not kill him.
If the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four
Palms had hit, he would have died without the Substitution technique. Hyuga
Yutaka definitely intended to kill him, so Kiba didn't hold back.
"Clang."
Kunai fell from Kiba's hand as he
closed the Life Gate mode. His strength was nearly exhausted, and his body was
empty without chakra. This stab was his final attempt.
Hyuga Yutaka, hearing Namikaze
Minato's words, was taken aback. "You also know about that?"
A thought crossed his mind.
Taki Kiba... Damn it! Almost got me! If he hadn't
hesitated with his water arrow technique, I would have died in the Water
Prison!
Namikaze Minato looked at Kiba,
then Hyuga Yutaka, who saw Kiba release Kunai (actually too exhausted to hold
it). Hyuga Yutaka immediately transferred the explosive tag kunai to his other
hand, putting it in his ninja bag. He looked at Namikaze Minato with a calm
face.
Namikaze Minato sighed. "This
matter can't be discussed here; it's a secret."
What is this secret? What's going on with Hyuga
Yutaka trying to kill me? I thought it was because of Yukina.
Though physically exhausted and
tired, Kiba stood up straight, pretending nothing was wrong.
In the auditorium, Uzumaki Kushina
slowly sat down, sighing in relief.
Thankfully, Minato intervened. Otherwise, both would
have died!
Why did Hyuga Yutaka... that matter, what is it?
The audience was puzzled as to why
the game was stopped and who would win.
And why was the game stopped?
Clearly, the audience hadn't
noticed the intent to kill each other.
Namikaze Minato noticed Kiba's
scorched foot and Hyuga Yutaka's bleeding shoulder, touched by the water arrow.
"Both of you, go back to the
infirmary to rest. The Chunin exam isn't over. I'll give you an answer after
the exam," Namikaze Minato said hesitantly.
Kiba frowned, reluctant to go to
the infirmary with Hyuga Yutaka.
"I refuse," Kiba said.
Who knows if he'll attack me in the infirmary. I
can't trust this bastard now.
"I refuse too. I need to know
the misunderstanding now," Hyuga Yutaka said.
Namikaze Minato frowned, feeling a
headache coming on.
Behind him, two ninjas with black
cloaks and tanuki masks appeared.
It was Anbu directly under the
Hokage.
"Namikaze Minato, by order of
the Third Hokage, we will take these two children," one said.
Namikaze Minato was stunned, then
looked at the Third Hokage, who nodded. He sighed. "I understand."
"You two, come with me. The
Third Hokage will explain everything personally." The two Anbu ninjas
stepped forward.
Kiba and Hyuga Yutaka looked at
each other, both frowning.
The Third Hokage will explain personally? This feels
serious!
With Anbu present, Kiba felt
relieved. Hyuga Yutaka wouldn't dare to cause trouble with Hokage's direct
forces.
The two were taken away by Anbu.
"Hey! Anbu took over? What's
going on?"
"Did they do something?
Cheating?"
"Impossible! Yutaka's
performance matches his strength. How could he cheat!"
"Yeah, cheating must be Taki
Kiba's doing. With the blood of a traitor, anything is possible."
"If Taki Kiba cheated, why
was Yutaka taken?"
"This... who knows? Maybe
he's a witness."
The test takers discussed
animatedly.
"Kiba..." Yukina showed
a worried look. Anbu's appearance made her feel something was wrong.
"Don't worry," Hirohiko
said. "No cheating."
Hirohiko heard the participants'
comments and worried Yukina.
"I know, Kiba wouldn't
cheat," Yukina sighed, "but Anbu..."
"Kiba will be fine,"
Hirohiko interrupted. "Because he didn't cheat."
Hirohiko thought it was about
cheating...
"If it's okay, it's
fine," Yukina said, comforting herself.
In the auditorium, confusion
reigned.
"Hey! Is that the end? Who
wins?"
"Yeah, who won?"
"The results of the
competition aren't announced."
"They'll announce it
later."
"Yeah?"
"Uh... the screen is
rotating."
Everyone looked up, seeing the big
screen turning, indicating the exam wasn't suspended despite Namikaze Minato's
intervention and Anbu's appearance.
The Third Hokage... I need to understand what's
happening.
Hyuga Shinsuke stood up, sighed
deeply, and made his way toward the Third Hokage.
"Master Shinsuke, are you
leaving?" a ninja asked.
"Yes, I have something to
do," Hyuga Shinsuke nodded and walked away.
What's the matter? Is he dissatisfied with Yutaka's
performance?
The ninja tilted his head in
confusion.
Uzumaki Kushina noticed Hyuga
Shinsuke and frowned slightly.
Mr. Shinsuke is going? I'll go too. My presence will
comfort Kiba! If anyone bullies Kiba, I can speak up or even beat them!
Uzumaki Kushina stood up, nodding
at her reasoning, and walked toward the Third Hokage.
"Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and
Tsunade, I'll leave this place to you," the Third Hokage said, standing
up.
He left the highest stand and
walked toward Hokage's office.
