Naruto: Strength Through Teaching

Chapter 327: Chapter 327: The Might of the Fire Release Taijutsu

When the names of the contestants were announced, many spectators instantly became alert and quickly turned their attention to the central fighting arena.

After the first round of battles, the audience had a general understanding of the contestants' abilities and knew which competitors were relatively strong.

After all, ordinary people might not grasp the nuances of Nature Transformation Ninjutsu, but they could assess a contestant's strength by the scale of their Ninjutsu and the speed at which they dealt with their opponents.

Obito had once unleashed a vast sea of flames during his fight with Asuma, clearly showing he was a formidable opponent, while Terumi Mei easily eliminated her adversaries, demonstrating her impressive strength.

Moreover, both of them were from the Mist Village and Konoha, making this match particularly interesting.

"I lost to you last time because I didn't have enough stamina; this time, you'll see my true power," Obito declared confidently.

He was very concerned about losing to Terumi Mei in the Forest of Death. After all, ever since he became stronger, he had easily defeated all his peers, except for Mutsuki and a few other disciples.

"That's a nice thought, but do you really think that was all I had in the last match?" Terumi Mei replied defiantly, as if to say that anyone could talk big.

"Fight begins!" Hiruko quickly announced the start of the exam once the two were ready.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

Obito immediately focused his breath, forming hand seals and unleashing a massive fireball aimed at Terumi Mei.

Although he knew this Great Fireball would likely be ineffective against Terumi Mei, he didn't have any other Fire Release Ninjutsu that was more suitable to start with.

"Water Release: Water Formation Pillar!"

Terumi Mei also performed hand seals and used her Ninjutsu, but the Water Pillar she released was three times the size of Obito's fireball. As the water and fire clashed, Obito's Great Fireball was instantly extinguished, and the water continued rushing toward Obito.

Although the water wouldn't cause much damage, Obito knew that Terumi Mei had a technique that could directly transform the water into a Water Dragon Bullet, so he quickly dodged and moved away from it.

"That time I shouldn't have made a move; he learned some information from it," Terumi Mei thought to herself with a sigh.

Seeing that she couldn't catch Obito off guard, Terumi Mei cut off the Chakra supply to the Water Formation Pillar. This technique required a continuous supply of Chakra to maintain, allowing her to use the Water Dragon Bullet directly without hand seals, essentially an application of Chakra transformation.

The large amount of water, which wasn't very agile, lacked the ability to pursue and crashed to the ground, splashing water everywhere.

Obito watched Terumi Mei leisurely; he was waiting for an opportunity. Using Fire Release Ninjutsu to directly clash with Terumi Mei's Water Release was not a wise choice.

He wasn't foolish; he lost last time because of a direct confrontation, so he definitely needed a different strategy this time.

Terumi Mei also refrained from making any rash moves. Although Obito's Ninjutsu was countered by hers, his Taijutsu was significantly stronger than hers.

Of course, the two weren't just standing still without making any significant moves.

Terumi Mei quickly scanned the entire area. Initially, there had been quite a few trees here, but after so many battles, they had either been knocked down or burned away. Now, aside from the open ground, there was only a small pond left.

"Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Jutsu!" Terumi Mei dodged the shuriken thrown by Obito and quickly formed hand seals to unleash her Ninjutsu again.

Seeing the water dragon seemingly trying to drive him toward the pond, Obito released his Chakra and used Soru to pull back in the opposite direction, running toward the edge wall of the fighting arena.

He knew that using Water Release in the presence of water made it stronger; although it was just a small pond, it could still provide Terumi Mei with some advantage.

"Flame Breathing Chakra Mode!"

Obito enhanced his breathing to enter Flame Breathing Chakra Mode, further boosting his physical abilities. He then activated his Sharingan to enhance his perception, skillfully maneuvering to let the Water Dragon Bullet hit the wall behind him perfectly.

At the same time, Obito reached into his ninja tool pouch and pulled out a shuriken, infusing it with fire-type Chakra before throwing it at Terumi Mei.

"Lava Release: Melting Apparition Jutsu!"

Terumi Mei gathered Chakra in her mouth while simultaneously performing Nature Transformation to combine water and earth into Lava Release Chakra, ultimately expelling a large amount of yellow, viscous liquid.

The yellow liquid had extremely strong corrosive and adhesive properties. Obito's Sharingan clearly saw that as soon as his shuriken made contact with the liquid, it fused with it, and the surface of the metal began to change.

Although the changes were still very subtle due to their recent contact, Obito's powerful insight from the Sharingan allowed him to notice this.

"What kind of Ninjutsu is this? It doesn't seem like Water Release; it looks quite powerful," Obito thought, recalling Terumi Mei's words before the battle.

It turned out Terumi Mei wasn't just boasting; she had indeed been hiding her true abilities.

Just as Obito was contemplating whether to test it with Fire Release, Terumi Mei spat out two more streams of yellow liquid.

Out of caution, Obito did not use Ninjutsu to counter but instead dodged swiftly.

Perhaps there was some flaw in that Ninjutsu, as Obito easily evaded it.

However, at that moment, Obito suddenly noticed that the initial viscous liquid had solidified, turning into a gray wall.

After reflecting on the earlier attack that he had dodged so easily, Obito felt a sense of foreboding.

He couldn't predict what Terumi Mei was planning, but he was certain that she wouldn't launch an attack without purpose; after all, she was a formidable enemy who had defeated him once before.

"Fire Fist!"

Obito compressed a large amount of Chakra into his fist and then instantaneously transformed it all into fire-type Chakra, striking fiercely against the gray wall beside him.

Boom!!

The immense force of his punch, combined with the raging flames, instantly created a large hole in the gray wall, and Obito stepped through the opening, rushing toward the center of the arena.

"This isn't good; the information leak is really troublesome," Terumi Mei felt the battle becoming more challenging.

Since the Water Dragon Bullet, her goal hadn't been to attack Obito or even to force him toward the pond; instead, she aimed to guide him to the wall at the edge of the arena.

This way, she could use Lava Release to create a wall and form a semi-enclosed space to enhance the power of her Boil Release.

Boil Release is more lethal than Lava Release, but there was a drawback: in such an open area, its effectiveness would be greatly diminished.

Terumi Mei couldn't create a completely enclosed space on the open ground, and Obito wouldn't be foolish enough to engage her in a confined space, so she chose to gradually create a semi-enclosed area.

However, Obito reacted too quickly and immediately connected her use of Boil Release in the Forest of Death to her plan.

Having used multiple Ninjutsu in a short time without achieving any results made Terumi Mei feel a sense of urgency. She quickly headed toward the pond, hoping to use the water there to reduce her Water Release consumption.

But how could Obito let Terumi Mei pass easily? After being chased and attacked for so long, the flames of anger in his heart had already flared up immensely.

"Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu!"

Obito unleashed a flurry of small fireballs toward Terumi Mei. Although each fireball was small, their sheer number and overall area of effect surpassed that of the Great Fireball.

"Water Release: Water Prison Jutsu!"

Terumi Mei immediately enveloped herself in a water shield, knowing she couldn't completely evade so many fireballs.

Although Obito's Flame Breathing Chakra Mode wasn't complete and he couldn't release it without seals directly, it did allow him to simplify his hand seals, making his Ninjutsu faster.

After unleashing over ten fireballs, Obito stopped and immediately activated the Chakra in his feet, dashing in front of Terumi Mei.

"Fire: Konoha Whirlwind!"

When the flaming whirlwind kick made contact with the water shield, which had blocked several fireballs, the shield shattered instantly, and Terumi Mei was sent flying backward.

"Water Release: Water Formation Pillar!"

Terumi Mei had no time to stand up; half-lying on the ground, she quickly formed hand seals and gathered a large amount of Chakra, expelling an enormous water wave that was three times the size of the initial one!

The giant water wave instantly enveloped Obito as he charged in.

But Obito was already prepared. He held his breath, unleashing all his respiratory power. In that moment, his Flame Breathing reached its peak, with all his Chakra burning and transforming into nutrients to enhance his strength.

With no time for further thought, Terumi Mei quickly commanded the Water Formation Pillar to change its form, intending to transform it into a Water Dragon Bullet to defeat Obito, just like last time.

However, the Obito this time was slightly different from the one she had fought in the Forest of Death.

In the high-pressure battle with Akutami Hideyuki, Obito's Flame Breathing underwent a transformation, greatly enhancing his power in its extreme state.

Terumi Mei moved quickly, and the water wave was rapidly changing form, but Obito was even faster. In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance to just three meters away from her.

Determined, Terumi Mei gave up most of her control over the water flow and instantly completed the transformation into a Water Dragon Bullet.

A relatively thin Water Dragon Bullet rushed toward Obito.

She couldn't afford to gamble on whether she could complete the transformation before Obito reached her; if she lost that bet, her journey in the Chunin exams would come to an end, and her path to becoming Mizukage would be jeopardized.

Although the less powerful Water Dragon Bullet couldn't defeat Obito, it should be able to push him back without any issues.

"Fire Release: Fiery Impact!"

Obito activated the power of Flame Breathing Chakra Mode, his entire body engulfed in orange flames. A large amount of Chakra gathered at his shoulder as he collided with Terumi Mei's hastily formed Water Dragon Bullet in a charging manner.

Terumi Mei's Water Dragon Bullet, transformed from the Water Formation Pillar, didn't require hand seals, and neither did Obito's Fire Release Ninjutsu and Taijutsu.

Boom!!

The moment Obito's shoulder collided with the water dragon, the flames on his body burned even more fiercely. The powerful impact, combined with the high-temperature flames of Flame Breathing, shattered the relatively thin Water Dragon Bullet instantly.

The rapidly changing situation on the battlefield left the spectators in awe.

It's worth noting that at the start, Terumi Mei had been dominating Obito, and yet within just a few minutes, the situation had shifted dramatically.

"This Uchiha Obito is quite impressive," the officials from the Land of Fire thought, considering Obito might be the strongest candidate in this Chunin exam.

Obito's fiery figure gave them the instinctive feeling that he was even stronger; for ordinary people, this was far more terrifying than just spitting out a fireball.

"This guy actually had hidden cards while fighting me," Asuma said, staring in shock at the Obito enveloped in flames.

He had thought that even though he lost, he had forced Obito to use all of his techniques.

"How did he do that? Why didn't the flames harm him?" Namiashi felt his knowledge of Ninjutsu was being challenged.

How could there be something like Fire Release Ninjutsu and Taijutsu? That wasn't Ninja at all.

"After taking so many hits, he finally learned something," Kakashi nodded in agreement, seeing that Obito had secured his victory.

When he saw Obito being lured to the edge of the arena, Kakashi felt an urge to intervene, but fortunately, Obito managed to figure it out in the end.

With her Ninjutsu disrupted, Terumi Mei no longer needed to expend Chakra. She stood frozen in place as the fiery Obito approached her.

"I told you, this time the one who wins will be me." Obito's flame-engulfed hand pointed directly at the half-lying Terumi Mei.

If this were the battlefield, he could instantly unleash the flames and kill Terumi Mei.

"You won," Terumi Mei said softly, her head lowered in disappointment.

She wasn't someone who couldn't handle losing, but the result stung.

Although she had showcased all her strength, she was uncertain whether the village Elders would notice her after being defeated in the second round.

She had originally prepared for battles against Guy and Kakashi, but now those plans were rendered useless.

"Uchiha Obito wins!" Hiruko announced the winner of the battle to the entire arena.

The audience supporting Konoha erupted in cheers. Guy had just won a match, and now Obito had secured another victory—two wins in a row, and this was only the second round of battles.

"Could Konoha have also sent young Chunin to participate in the exams?" Genji pondered about the Chunin.

In order to suppress Konoha in this Chunin exam, the Mist Village had deliberately recruited several young Chunin and some strong Genin, and yet the outcome was like this. Genji couldn't help but suspect that Konoha had done the same.

With Might Guy's Taijutsu, Uchiha Obito's Fire Release, and Hatake Kakashi's speed, you call this a Genin?

After winning, Obito didn't return to the resting area immediately. He canceled the Breathing Technique but kept his Sharingan activated. With its exceptional vision, he spotted Rin smiling at him, seemingly happy about his victory.

"Hehe." Obito smiled contentedly, knowing that Rin couldn't hear him, but he still waved and said thank you.

Once he returned to the resting area, Obito immediately jumped in front of Kakashi, eagerly recounting all the clever decisions he made during the battle.

In summary, he claimed that his victory was entirely due to his intelligence, with no brute strength involved—just pure technique.

"If you reverse the content, there would be no problem," Kakashi commented.

"Momochi Zabuza vs. Hatake Kakashi!"

Hiruko's voice echoed into the resting area once again.

"Tch, I can't wait to see what astonishing wisdom your battle holds," Obito scoffed.

Kakashi didn't argue with Obito and walked into the battle arena at a relaxed pace.

This fight truly couldn't showcase any remarkable wisdom because the enemy's strength was average.

Even before his special training, Kakashi found it not very difficult to defeat Zabuza, let alone now that he had awakened the Transparent World and undergone special training.
