Chapter 84: Chapter 84 Sako's Questioning, Fugaku And White Fang's Surprise
Konoha Village
Boom…
A massive, three-headed snake dragged its colossal body, crushing everything in its path. The houses it passed were smashed and destroyed in seconds.
"Hurry, stop it—don't let it reach the village center!"
Konoha's defense forces, composed of Chūnin, launched kunai, shuriken, and explosive tags as they tried to push back the monstrous snake. Despite their efforts, they struggled to hold it back, and elsewhere, the even more destructive Manda continued to rampage.
Facing Manda
Just as Manda lunged towards fleeing civilians, a deep voice echoed across the battlefield.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
Behind Manda, a cloud of white smoke appeared, and the massive toad, Gamabunta, materialized. On top of Bunta stood Jiraiya, one of the Legendary Sannin.
"Orochimaru went so far as to summon Manda this time—he's really causing trouble…"
Jiraiya surveyed the chaos, frowning as he glanced toward the barrier created by the Four Purple Flame Formation. He muttered under his breath with a worried expression.
"Tsk… Well, well, if it isn't that annoying toad," Manda sneered, turning to face Gamabunta. "I've had enough of you toads for a long time! Today, I'll finally get to devour you!"
Manda's green, snake-like eyes gleamed with malice as he lunged at Gamabunta.
"Jiraiya, you've really done it this time!" Gamabunta grumbled, wielding his sword to parry Manda's attack. "You still owe me an explanation for what happened last month!"
"Uh… I'll leave this to you, Bunta!" Jiraiya chuckled awkwardly, finding an excuse to slip away. "I'll handle the three-headed snake. Those Chūnin aren't equipped to deal with it."
With that, he hurried off, leaving the two colossal summons to clash in a fierce battle.
The Four Purple Flame Formation
"Betrayal? The so-called treaty was just a tool to make you lower your guard," a voice taunted from within the Four Purple Flame Formation. "History is about to change, Sarutobi-sensei."
Orochimaru released his grip on the throat of Sarutobi Hiruzen and gazed at his former teacher, his expression a twisted mix of nostalgia and disdain.
"You… you're… Orochimaru!" Sarutobi's eyes widened as he recognized the man hidden behind the Fourth Kazekage's disguise.
"Long time no see, Sarutobi-sensei. Do you like the 'gift' I've given Konoha today?" Orochimaru laughed darkly, peeling away his disguise to reveal his true form.
"Gift?" Hiruzen's voice was heavy with suppressed fury as he glanced at the chaos engulfing Konoha. "Orochimaru, you were once my student… but your heart has turned to stone!"
Orochimaru chuckled, his expression unreadable. "With your limited view, how could you possibly understand me?"
He gestured grandly toward the village below. "The so-called peace of the ninja world has made it stagnant, locked in endless mediocrity. Konoha's only remaining worth is to serve as the wind that will set the great wheel of the ninja world turning once more."
"Then you intend to destroy Konoha!" Hiruzen's eyes narrowed, his fury unmistakable. He removed his Hokage hat, his entire demeanor transforming. "Don't think it will be so easy. I may be old, but I will not allow you to realize your ambitions."
"Don't be in such a hurry, Sarutobi-sensei!" Orochimaru replied, his smirk widening as he casually stepped back, unfazed. "Our battle can wait a moment. Look down there…"
He gestured towards the center of the arena, drawing Hiruzen's attention back to the scene unfolding below.
At that moment, Yakushi Kabuto summoned four coffins.
These were prepared in advance by Orochimaru, and Yakushi Kabuto simply summoned them on his behalf. It wasn't as if he cast the Reanimation Jutsu himself.
"That's the Forbidden Technique of the previous Hokage! But wait… those four people are…"
As Sarutobi Hiruzen watched the four figures emerge from their coffins, his expression shifted, and he gasped in shock.
"Exactly! With the exception of Might Dai, they were all victims who perished in the shadows of Konoha. I'm eager to see how they'll fight back against Konoha," Orochimaru said, excitement flashing in his eyes as he looked at the four figures below.
Orochimaru recalled Naruto's vision, which had given him a glimpse of the legendary Might Guy. It reminded him of the renowned Might Guy, who had flourished during the Third Great Ninja War. The combination of Impure World Reincarnation and the Eight Inner Gates was something he eagerly anticipated.
'But what will you do, Mr. Naruto?' Orochimaru's gaze drifted toward Naruto, filled with expectation.
On the Battlefield
"Father? How did I not know that I had such a beautiful daughter?" Fugaku, stunned, gazed at Sako, his confusion evident.
"Father, we can discuss this later. Right now, can you tell me the truth about what happened all those years ago? Did that guy really kill you, Mother, and everyone else?"
The pain that Sako had suppressed within herself burst forth, and the three-tomoe in her eyes transformed into the Mangekyō Sharingan as she spoke, her voice trembling.
As the saying goes, the depth of love is matched only by the depth of hate. In Sako's heart, boundless hatred for Itachi coexisted with doubt about the truth of that event. This conflicting emotion had tormented her for far too long.
"Mangekyō Sharingan…" Fugaku stammered, shock and distress flooding his features as he looked at Sako.
He knew that those who awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan often experienced immense pain and profound hatred. What kind of suffering had this child endured?
Suddenly, Fugaku's eyes widened as a realization struck him. If this girl truly was his son Sasuke, it would explain everything: the massacre of their clan, the tragic deaths of their parents, and the betrayal by her older brother. All of these events represented unimaginable pain for anyone.
How much suffering had she borne in her heart to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan at such a young age? Had his decision at that time been wrong? Was it worth sacrificing everything for the sake of two children, each carrying the weight of their family's tragedy? If only he had made a different choice then…
At that moment, Fugaku's heart was tumultuous. His gaze flickered with complex emotions, and his own pupils began to shift.
His own Mangekyō Sharingan awakened in a brilliant display.
"Mangekyō Sharingan? Father, you actually possess those eyes!" Sako exclaimed, her emotions flaring up again as tears filled her beautiful eyes. "Why did you have those eyes and not stop Itachi? Why did you allow me to bear this burden?"
Seeing her father's Mangekyō made Sako question everything she thought she knew. She had always believed that Itachi's Mangekyō enabled him to effortlessly massacre their family. But now, her father's eyes made her doubt her entire understanding of the past.
"What is the truth buried in our history?"
"Father??"
At that moment, Kakashi in the audience recognized the familiar figure and rushed forward, trembling in disbelief.
"Kakashi… is she… is she Rin?" Hatake Sakumo asked, looking at the familiar figure that had appeared, relief washing over him as he gazed at the woman in Kakashi's arms.
Kakashi had been in the same class as Rin Nohara, so Hatake Sakumo had met her before his death. Now, it seemed Rin had returned, brought back by Kakashi.
