Naruto: Hatake's No Misfortune

Chapter 100: Uchiha Obito

---

Kakashi, who had just woken up, promptly slipped back into unconsciousness.

Poor Kakashi had been knocked out right in front of Muzan, and the ANBU member beside him swallowed nervously. Although both wore masks, it was clear who lay crumpled on the ground.

"Maybe this will teach him not to be so cocky," Muzan muttered, shaking his head.

From a distance, Namikaze Minato observed with a gentle smile. He glanced at Kushina resting inside the room, then looked back at Muzan with a hopeful gleam in his eyes. "If I have twins, I'll have you train one of them, and Kakashi can train the other."

As Hokage, Minato knew he could count on Kakashi as a mentor. He was already envisioning his child's future, even if this hope might never come to pass.

Thinking of Muzan's rough nature and tendency to solve problems with force, Minato felt a twinge of concern. He turned to Muzan and warned, "Just… try not to be too hard on my kid."

Muzan chuckled. "Don't worry. Kakashi's probably the better teacher anyway. I'll step in when needed."

Minato offered a knowing smile but remained silent. As Kakashi lay unconscious at their feet, Muzan stepped forward and performed a quick Water Release: Water Trumpet Jutsu, dousing him. Kakashi sputtered awake, glaring daggers at his older brother.

"You're such a jerk!" Kakashi grumbled, dripping wet.

The light-hearted moment was brief; soon, everyone returned to their duties, keeping a close watch on the delivery room.

As Kushina's due date approached, the Nine-Tails' seal weakened. The final days were always the most dangerous.

While Muzan patrolled, Kakashi joined him. "Brother," Kakashi said, his tone serious. "Lady Biwako says Kushina's due any moment. We need to stay vigilant."

As an ANBU captain, Kakashi had the most accurate intelligence and was coordinating security for this critical time.

"So soon…" Muzan murmured, wiping his sword's blade. Despite his usually stoic demeanor, a flicker of concern crossed his face.

As Muzan resumed his patrol, a medical ninja called out, "Lord Muzan, Lady Biwako requests your presence!"

Muzan turned to Kakashi. "Keep patrolling. Stay sharp." Without waiting for a reply, he headed to the delivery room.

Inside, the atmosphere was tense. Kushina writhed in pain, her chakra fluctuating wildly. Muzan could feel the ominous presence of the Nine-Tails pressing against the seal—a dark, malevolent force.

One of the medical ninjas looked at Muzan, her face pale. "We can't help her. The Nine-Tails' chakra is too strong, and Lady Tsunade isn't here. You're the only one who can steady her chakra."

Muzan approached Kushina, who was barely conscious. Despite her Uzumaki lineage and her skill in sealing, the Nine-Tails was straining against the weakened seal. Red chakra seeped from her, filling the room with an oppressive atmosphere.

"Leave it to me," Muzan said, calm and focused.

He placed a hand on Kushina's forehead, sending a steady flow of chakra to soothe her and ease her pain. But it wasn't just about her pain—the real danger was the Kyuubi inside her.

With meticulous control, Muzan pressed his chakra into Kushina's abdomen, attempting to restrain the beast. Something felt off, though. Despite the Kyuubi's chakra leaking out, the seal itself remained intact.

After nearly twenty minutes, Muzan finally managed to subdue the chaotic chakra, Kushina's body temporarily at peace, though Muzan knew the ordeal was far from over. "For now, the Nine-Tails is contained, but we can't let our guard down until the baby is born."

As he spoke, Muzan felt an unsettling sensation, as though he were being watched. His instincts flared. "Zetsu… you're not hiding underground this time, are you?"

Just then, a figure appeared behind Lady Biwako—a nurse familiar to everyone in the room. But Muzan's sharp gaze caught something off.

In an instant, he moved, snapping the nurse's neck with a sickening crack. The body crumpled, morphing into White Zetsu's plant-like form.

"What the…?!" one of the medical ninjas gasped. "How did he get in here? Where's Nurse Ito?"

"She went to change a few minutes ago… Could that have been when it happened?" another replied, visibly shaken.

Muzan stepped forward, his expression grim. "Find her. Now. We need to understand how this breach occurred."

The presence of a White Zetsu clone near the delivery room was a harrowing warning. If Muzan hadn't acted in time, the consequences could have been devastating.

---

In the quiet tension of the delivery room, Kushina's labored breaths filled the air as Minato knelt by her side, offering comfort and strength. Moments earlier, Muzan had managed to stabilize her chakra, restraining the Nine-Tails' energy as the baby's birth approached. The time had come—the future of Konoha was about to arrive.

With a final, intense push, Kushina cried out, and a piercing wail broke the silence. The newborn's cries echoed through the room, signaling the birth of Namikaze Naruto. Minato's eyes softened with pride as he gently lifted his son, gazing at the tiny face that bore his legacy. For a moment, there was peace.

But that calm was abruptly shattered. Muzan, standing guard nearby, felt a shift—a foreign chakra, swift and elusive, had infiltrated the area. His instincts screamed at him, and he turned sharply, senses heightened.

Across the ninja world, only a few jutsu could evade the Byakugan's gaze. And Uchiha Obito just happened to wield one of them.

"Stay alert! We have an intruder!" Muzan shouted, his senses on high alert as he caught an unsettling flicker on the edge of his perception.

The warning had barely left his mouth before all eyes turned to the masked man who had materialized among them. No one had seen him arrive.

"An Uchiha!" someone exclaimed, their gaze fixed on the single, exposed Sharingan glinting from beneath the mask. A chill settled over the group—each shinobi aware of how lethal a fully-grown Uchiha could be, especially one with space-time abilities.

Biwako stepped forward, positioning herself defensively. As the wife of the Third Hokage, her strength may have faded with age, and her health was not what it once was, but her resolve was unshaken. Protecting Kushina and the village's future was an honor she would not relinquish. Her odds against Obito were slim, but she stood her ground.

WHAM!

Obito, cloaked in darkness and driven by a deep-seated hatred of Konoha's hypocrisy, had one goal: capturing the Nine-Tails. Anyone in his way was expendable.

Biwako coughed as Obito's punch struck her chest, blood staining her lips. But she didn't back down, buying Muzan a precious second to act.

Muzan lunged, throwing a punch at Obito's chest. But his fist passed through as Obito's body phased, smashing into the wall behind him. Muzan gritted his teeth, recognizing the space-time technique.

Outside, the noise alerted the guards.

"Something's happening inside! Move!" an ANBU barked, rallying a team toward the commotion.

"Space-time ninjutsu… such a nuisance," Muzan muttered as Obito phased in and out with unnerving precision.

"You're quick," Obito remarked, his tone eerily calm. His reflexes were second only to Minato's, and Kamui made him nearly untouchable.

Then, things took a dire turn.

"No! He has Kushina!" Minato shouted.

He moved to pursue, but Obito vanished, taking Kushina with him. Explosive tags left behind detonated, shaking the ground.

In a secluded location, Obito loomed over a bound, weakened Kushina. Her red hair, a signature of her Uzumaki heritage, was soaked with sweat, but her defiance was unwavering.

Obito's Sharingan glinted ominously as he regarded Kushina. The seal on her abdomen had already been weakened, and now, with his brutal capture, she was barely able to keep the Nine-Tails contained. Still, her fierce will flared, fighting to protect her village and her unborn child.

Obito reached down, placing a hand on Kushina's abdomen. His Sharingan rotated into the Mangekyo pattern, and he began the intricate process of forcibly extracting the Nine-Tails.

"Your resistance is pointless, Kushina," he muttered, his tone devoid of empathy. "I will tear the Kyuubi from you, no matter the cost."

Kushina gritted her teeth as searing pain overtook her. The seal, already fragile, began to unravel. Obito's chakra worked like a sharp blade, prying open the layers of protection she'd fought so hard to maintain.

Bright red chakra, saturated with hatred and malice, erupted from her body, wrapping around Obito's hand and surging into the air. Kushina's body convulsed as the Nine-Tails' form began to take shape, materializing in a haze of crimson energy that filled the clearing with its oppressive presence. Her screams mingled with the beast's enraged roar as it was forcefully drawn from her.

The Kyuubi emerged fully, a colossal fox with burning red eyes and jagged claws. It fixed Obito with a wild, feral gaze, but the Uchiha's Mangekyo Sharingan held it firmly in check. Under his control, the beast's snarl shifted into an eerie calm as it awaited his command.

"Kyuubi," Obito ordered, his voice low yet authoritative. "We're going to pay Konoha a visit."

With a single hand seal, Obito initiated the Summoning Jutsu, transporting the Nine-Tails directly into Konoha's heart.

---

Konoha was in turmoil, the Nine-Tails' presence sending a ripple of terror through the village.

"Such a troublesome night…"
