Naruto: From Konoha to One Piece

Chapter 148: Chapter 148: Wano Awaits

Ace stepped onto the flame-powered ship, and as soon as he activated his ability, flames erupted from the back of the entire ship, propelling it forward like a high-speed boat.

"Yo hoo! It's so fast!" Ace shouted excitedly, guiding the ship with ease. Yamato watched with a mixture of awe and envy. "Why can't the Okuchi-no-Makami Fruit let me breathe fire?" she muttered.

"Even if you could breathe fire, it wouldn't let you power a flame-powered ship, right?" Shin chuckled, imagining Yamato awkwardly positioned at the ship's stern, trying to blow fire into the flame jet device at the back.

Then, Shin consoled Yamato, saying, "At least you can run on the sea. If Ace falls into the water, he's done for. Every fruit ability has its own perks!"

'And your Okuchi-no-Makami Fruit doesn't have any higher-ranked fruit to worry about, so you're safe from fruit-based weaknesses,' Shin thought to himself.

Ace's Flame-Flame Fruit, on the other hand, was particularly weak against the Mag-Mag Fruit. Devil Fruits often have odd interactions, and no matter how much Ace developed his flames or raised their temperature, he'd still be defenseless against that specific power.

[A/N: As per One Piece Wiki, the magma can neutralize even the intangibility and heat-immunity of the Flame-Flame fruit, thus leading the user to be burned and completely vulnerable.]

Similarly, Enel's lightning ability couldn't harm Luffy because of his rubber body, no matter how powerful the voltage or current. Fruit vulnerabilities are rare but unavoidable when they appear, nullifying any strength advantage one might have.

Shin, Ace, and Yamato traveled at impressive speeds with the flame-powered ship. Shin's dark dimension allowed him to store supplies, and his Munch-Munch Fruit could repair the ship, meaning they hardly needed to pack. Soon, they were on course for Wano Country.

"Pops, should we go follow Ace?" Marco asked Whitebeard as he watched the flaming ship disappear over the horizon. The Phoenix's concern was evident. "Is their strength enough to face Kaido?"

"Gurararara! Don't worry." Whitebeard remembered the unbelievable intangibility Shin had shown him last night, where Shin seemed untouchable, like a ghost projection.

With Shin's powers, their combat strength was uncertain, but their escape abilities were exceptional. Barring any devil fruit that directly countered them, they could even visit Marine Headquarters and leave unscathed.

'Still, that Munch-Munch Fruit is more powerful than I realized,' Whitebeard thought, briefly pondering Shin's abilities. He was a man who didn't pry into others' business so long as they respected their comrades.

On the open sea, a streak of fire shot through like an arrow, and the mesmerizing, upside-down waterfall leading to Wano Country came into view.

As it turns out, the fastest ship isn't powered by sails, fuel, or cola—it's powered by a flame-flame fruit ability.

Just like Mihawk's coffin boat or Aokiji's bicycle, the quickest transportation for top-tier fighters often depends on their own powers or sheer physical endurance.

While Ace hadn't yet reached the highest ranks, he was still a formidable force amongst deputy commanders or vice captains, and his flames could easily be converted to speed. After traveling for only three or four days, they finally caught sight of Wano Country.

"Shin, how are we getting up there? Do we need to fuse and carry Yamato up?" Ace scratched his head as he stared at the enormous waterfall.

Shin raised an eyebrow, slightly amused. He knew Ace was talking about using the Munch-Munch Fruit fusion, but it sounded odd.

"No, I've learned some new ninjutsu." Shin smirked, patting Yamato lightly.

"Earth Release: Ultra-Lightweight Rock Jutsu."

Yamato looked puzzled at first, but soon, she floated in the air.

"Hey! I'm flying! I'm actually flying!" Yamato cheered, kicking her legs mid-air as though she were swimming.

Ignoring Yamato's antics, Shin stored the ship in his dark dimension before he lifted himself up to fly.

Ace didn't need Shin's help; he simply propelled himself with flames from his hands and feet. The trio shared a look, then ascended together towards Wano Country.

"Shin, you seem to have improved again. Last time, you couldn't fly, right?" Ace remarked after they landed, both he and Yamato visibly impressed. Yamato, especially, seemed awestruck by Shin's ability to let others fly with him.

"Yes, my ninjutsu has advanced a bit," Shin replied nonchalantly.

"It's incredible, but it's too bad I can't learn ninjutsu," Yamato sighed.

In truth, while some pirates could extract chakra, even surpassing the physical and spiritual prowess of ninjas, they produced very little chakra.

Yamato's physical power and awakened Conqueror's Haki allowed him to generate chakra, but his control over it was weak—similar to a low-level ninja. Manipulating chakra was so difficult that even basic ninja skills like tree climbing or water-walking were almost impossible.

'Now that I think about it, that girl Tama is quite a phenomenon! While her talent might be above average in the ninja world, here in this world, she's like a prodigy on the level of Senju Hashirama or Madara Uchiha!'

'Though, for the pirate world's equivalent of Hashirama, Tama's skills still fall short… With her talent, even if she trains her whole life, she'd likely just reach the level of a regular Jonin.'

The people of the ninja world have undergone generations of genetic refinement, thriving in a world abundant with natural energy and possibly even carrying traces of Otsutsuki lineage. These factors contribute to their adaptability with chakra, while the pirate world lacks such advantages.

As they reached Wano's coast, Shin glanced around but saw no one nearby.

In the distance, a few smokestacks rose above the landscape, and the acrid smell of industrial pollution was stronger than ever.

"The environment here has gotten worse. The Kurozumi Orochi really has a lot to answer for," Shin said, visibly disgusted.
