Chapter 95: Let Me Open Your Eyes to the World!
"What do you need, Yi-kun?" Orochimaru asked in return.
"To be honest, there isn't much that interests me anymore. I don't even know if you have anything that could catch my attention," Uchiha Yi replied with a slight shrug.
With the system at his disposal, he didn't lack ninjutsu or techniques. As for material wealth, it was meaningless to a ninja of his caliber. Even Yi himself wasn't sure what he needed.
Hearing this, Orochimaru fell silent for a moment. He understood where Yi was coming from, but negotiating with someone who had no apparent desires seemed like an impossible task.
"These are all the forbidden jutsu and ninjutsu I possess, along with some classified intel about the ninja world. See if anything catches your interest," Orochimaru finally said, decisively laying all his cards on the table.
This gesture showed the lengths Orochimaru was willing to go in pursuit of knowledge, even if it meant risking everything he had.
Intrigued by his boldness, Uchiha Yi took the offered list and began skimming through it.
Among the items listed were Edo Tensei, Flying Thunder God Technique, the summoning contract for Ryuchi Cave, the Snake-Style ninjutsu Orochimaru was known for, and more.
These were Orochimaru's prized techniques—his very essence as a ninja—yet here they were, laid bare like goods at a market stall.
"Flying Thunder God Technique, Ryuchi Cave's summoning contract, Mutual Multiplying Explosive Tags, Wood-Style techniques, the Five-Element Sealing Jutsu… Oh, this one, and that one too…"
As Uchiha Yi went through the list, his interest steadily grew. Even though he might not need these techniques himself, they could be invaluable to the people around him.
Most of the techniques in Yi's arsenal came from the system, derived from abilities across different worlds. These were not easily shared or taught to others. But with Orochimaru's offerings, he could finally provide some valuable tools to his allies.
Before long, Yi had checked off nearly the entire list.
Orochimaru, who had been silently observing, couldn't help but feel his composure slipping. Wasn't this supposed to be a negotiation? Why did it feel like he was being thoroughly robbed?
"Alright, I think I'm done. Just these," Yi said after half an hour of scrutinizing the list. Nearly 99% of the entries were marked as selected.
"…Finished?" Orochimaru asked, struggling to keep his tone neutral. "Are you sure you don't want to take another look to see if you've missed anything?"
The sarcasm in his voice was palpable, but Yi remained unbothered.
"No, no, this will do," Yi replied, clearing his throat. "I promise it'll be worth your while. Besides, wasn't half of this stuff originally Uchiha property anyway, considering the Leaf Village was founded by both the Uchiha and Senju clans? You're just returning what's rightfully ours."
"…I hope it is worth it," Orochimaru replied dryly, inwardly mourning his loss.
"Don't worry, Orochimaru. You won't regret this," Yi reassured him with a confident smile. "After all, they call me the Honest Gentleman of Amegakure. Let me open your eyes to the world."
Uchiha Yi's demeanor turned serious as he began revealing the hidden truths of the ninja world.
He told Orochimaru about the Sage of Six Paths, the existence of Kaguya Otsutsuki sealed on the moon, and even the broader context of the Otsutsuki clan.
"These are the truths of this world," Yi concluded, taking a sip of water to soothe his throat after the lengthy explanation.
Orochimaru, who had remained silent throughout, finally spoke, his voice filled with awe and disbelief. "It's… hard to believe. I've never felt so insignificant in my life."
Despite the overwhelming nature of the revelations, Orochimaru's passion for knowledge only intensified. His eyes burned with the zeal of someone who had just glimpsed a new horizon.
"Just keep this information to yourself," Yi warned. "There's no need to share this with Jiraiya or Tsunade. They're good people, but their naivety and emotional flaws would only make them liabilities in this matter."
Yi had shared the information with Orochimaru because he appreciated his intellect and scientific acumen. With the looming threat of the Otsutsuki God, Yi knew he needed every advantage and ally he could muster.
"Understood," Orochimaru replied, quickly grasping the gravity of the situation. He too realized that Jiraiya and Tsunade weren't suited to dealing with such revelations.
"Also, stay out of Akatsuki's affairs for now," Yi added. "The ninja world needs a reckoning—a great unification to put an end to these endless conflicts between villages. I'm aiming for a unified ninja world. What do you think, Orochimaru?"
"Heh, it seems the winds of change are blowing your way, Yi-kun," Orochimaru remarked with a faint smile. "I look forward to seeing the world you'll create."
With the truth of the ninja world now in his possession, Orochimaru saw no reason to oppose Yi. After all, his own scientific pursuits aligned perfectly with the monumental challenges ahead.
"Oh, and one more thing," Yi added as if remembering something. "If you have time, help me locate a passage to the moon. I need to confirm something."
"You're really not holding back, are you?" Orochimaru chuckled, half-exasperated.
"I'll sweeten the deal for you," Yi offered, leaning in. "Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha are reincarnations of the Sage of Six Paths' sons. They're your real treasures of the Six Paths. If you're curious, feel free to study them."
Hearing this, Orochimaru's eyes lit up once more. The loss of his forbidden jutsu now felt trivial compared to the tantalizing opportunities ahead.
