Chapter 140: Chapter 138: Watch Closely as I Kill Sasuke!

Chapter 138: Watch Closely as I Kill Sasuke!

At this moment, Uchiha Itachi had no other choice. He could only comply, or he would have to watch Sasuke die before his very eyes.

Sasuke was the one person Itachi had sacrificed everything for—betraying his clan, massacring his family, and becoming a rogue ninja all for the sake of protecting his foolish little brother. After paying such a heavy price, how could he simply abandon Sasuke now?

Of course, there was one other option: kill Uchiha Yi.

But could he really do that?

The enormous gap between their strengths made it clear to Itachi that this wasn't a possibility. For the first time, he felt utterly powerless.

"Fine... I hope you'll keep your word," Itachi said. His voice lacked its usual composure, now tinged with despair.

He couldn't even utter threats, fearing it might provoke Uchiha Yi and worsen the situation. His only hope lay in the vision his father, Uchiha Fugaku, had shared with him long ago—a vision of Sasuke's future.

Before Itachi carried out the massacre, Fugaku had shown him the ability of his Mangekyō Sharingan: the power to foresee the future. Fugaku had described a destined path, one that he believed could not be altered. In his resignation to fate, Fugaku had convinced himself that sacrificing the clan would ensure Sasuke's survival and the continuation of their bloodline.

Itachi, now filled with rage, clenched his fists as he hesitated, his gaze lingering on Sasuke's unconscious form. But his indecision didn't go unnoticed.

Uchiha Yi tightened his grip on Sasuke's neck, forcing his tongue to hang limp and his face to turn purple.

"I'm running out of patience, Itachi," Yi said coldly. "I'll give you three seconds. If you don't act by then..."

"Stop!" Itachi roared, his voice trembling with anguish.

Unable to delay any longer, Itachi brought his trembling hands to his eyes. He hesitated one last time, then resolutely dug his fingers into his sockets.

"Good. Now throw them over," Yi said, his tone calm and measured as if the situation didn't excite him at all.

Itachi complied, hurling the bloodied Mangekyō Sharingan in Yi's direction. Yi caught the eyes effortlessly, but as he examined them, something seemed off.

One eye was undoubtedly Itachi's Mangekyō Sharingan, with its signature three-pronged shuriken pattern. But the other eye...

It was a different shape entirely: a hollow four-pronged shuriken. Uchiha Yi recognized it immediately.

This was Shisui Uchiha's Mangekyō Sharingan—the eye that had been destroyed by Danzo.

"Interesting," Yi muttered, narrowing his eyes as he shifted his gaze back to Itachi.

Just as the realization dawned on Yi, Itachi suddenly opened his remaining Mangekyō Sharingan. His voice was calm yet commanding.

"Kotoamatsukami: Transcription Seal, activate!"

In an instant, the dormant power within Shisui's eye surged forth, targeting Uchiha Yi directly.

The forbidden genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami, manipulated the target's will without their awareness. It was one of the most powerful techniques ever to exist.

But Itachi wasn't done yet.

"Susano'o!"

The skeletal frame of Itachi's Susano'o materialized around him, its crimson hue radiating a deadly aura. In its hands, Itachi held the Totsuka Blade—a weapon capable of sealing anything it pierced into an eternal illusion.

Itachi knew that merely relying on Kotoamatsukami wouldn't be enough to subdue someone as powerful as Yi. He needed to take advantage of Yi's momentary vulnerability and strike with everything he had.

The Totsuka Blade stabbed forward.

Uchiha Yi, still processing the effects of Kotoamatsukami, couldn't avoid the attack in time. The blade plunged into his chest.

Time seemed to freeze.

"It's over," Itachi whispered, his voice barely audible as he collapsed to his knees.

Yi's body shimmered and was absorbed into the blade, vanishing entirely.

With his greatest threat sealed away, Itachi's body began to falter. The strain of using Susano'o combined with his failing health was too much to bear. Blood poured from his mouth as he fell to the ground.

But Itachi wasn't done yet. Crawling on hands and knees, he made his way to Sasuke. His bloodied hands reached out, trembling as he touched Sasuke's face.

"At least... you're safe now," he murmured.

Suddenly, pain erupted in his chest. He looked down to see a blood-soaked hand emerging from his body.

Behind him, a voice chuckled.

"Itachi, Itachi... did you really think you could defeat me?"

It was Uchiha Yi.

He hadn't been sealed away at all. The figure Itachi had stabbed was nothing more than an illusion—a trick Yi had planted long ago.

As blood dripped from his lips, Itachi's vision blurred.

"This... this isn't possible," he muttered weakly.

Yi's grin widened. "Oh, but it is. And now, Itachi, you get a front-row seat. Watch closely as I kill Sasuke!"

Yi turned his gaze toward Sasuke and whispered:

"Rinnegan's Judgment: Eternal Hell."
