Chapter 115: Chapter 115: The Girl’s Feelings – I’m Here to Join This Family
Soon, Temari arrived at Yagyu's doorstep.
This wasn't her first visit; she had been to Yagyu's house before during her last mission.
"Temari?"
By chance, as she reached the front door, before she could gather herself to knock, Yagyu appeared. He had been planning to step out and try to convince Hinata to come over for another "bathroom experience."
Seeing Temari standing there, Yagyu was slightly taken aback, almost not recognizing her.
"Yagyu-kun, it's been a while," Temari said, trying to keep her cool as she lightly touched her hair, greeting him confidently.
"It has been," Yagyu replied, genuinely impressed. Her new bob hairstyle, reminiscent of Android 18 from Dragon Ball, caught his eye, and he complimented her sincerely, "Temari, this hairstyle really suits you."
"R-Really?" Temari's cheeks flushed as she avoided his gaze, saying, "I just thought, since Yagyu-kun suggested this style, it might look good… so I gave it a try."
Inside, she felt delighted. All the time she'd spent perfecting her hairstyle was worth it.
"Yes, it really matches your style," Yagyu replied, admiring Temari in her blue qipao, her flushed cheeks, and her lack of her usual icy demeanor as the "Sand Village Princess."
Like Samui from the Hidden Cloud, Temari was one of the few girls whose natural style suited short hair better.
Her previous hairstyle hadn't really complemented her features, so when Yagyu had last left the Wind Country after creating an oasis for them, he'd suggested she try a different look. Originally, he was going to suggest a style like Samui's, but then the idea of Android 18's bob haircut had come to him, feeling it would suit Temari's cool elegance perfectly.
Now, seeing Temari had actually gone with his suggestion, Yagyu was certain of her feelings.
After his compliment, he stepped aside and gestured, "Come in."
"Thank you," Temari replied, steadying her emotions as she followed him inside.
As she changed her shoes in the entryway, she noticed several pairs of women's shoes, each reminding her of the other girls close to Yagyu.
But when Yagyu opened the shoe cabinet and took out the pair he had saved for her from her last visit, her cheeks flushed again, her heart brimming with happiness.
With her shoes changed, she followed him to the living room upstairs. But before she could state the purpose of her visit, she noticed Yagyu glancing her over once more.
Her heart raced, but unlike Hinata, she didn't shy away; she stood gracefully, gently touching her hair and letting him admire her. Everything, from her hairstyle to her outfit, had been carefully planned to catch his eye.
Yagyu's appreciative look filled her with joy.
After a moment, Yagyu suddenly asked, "Temari, besides the Wind Release techniques with your fan, do you know any other Wind-style jutsu?"
"Yes, I do," she answered honestly, though unsure why he asked.
"Then this is for you." Yagyu took out a white wristband and handed it to her with a smile. "It's a storage scroll specifically for Fuma Shuriken. When you're not fighting, you can use it to store your fan."
"Th-Thank you," Temari stammered, her cheeks red as she accepted the wristband. She was thrilled to receive a gift from Yagyu but also a bit embarrassed, realizing what he was implying.
Her outfit looked lovely, but the fan on her back somewhat ruined the aesthetic.
Now that she thought about it, Temari realized she hadn't been wearing her fan when she looked in the mirror earlier. Yet out of habit, she had strapped it on before leaving.
How silly to wear a fan with a qipao!
Seeing her face growing redder, Yagyu quickly gestured for her to sit, skillfully changing the topic, "So, did you come here for a mission, or just to tour the Leaf Village?"
He hadn't considered Gaara being captured, as he kept a close eye on the Akatsuki's movements and would have known if anything was amiss.
"Actually…" Temari's attention shifted back to the topic. "The Daimyo has made his official decree. Gaara will soon become the Fifth Kazekage, and I'm here to invite you, on behalf of the Kazekage and the Sand Village, to attend the inauguration ceremony."
"I see," Yagyu said with a knowing smile. "So Gaara will indeed become the Fifth Kazekage. Seeing that your village hadn't chosen a new Kazekage for three years, I figured your leaders were preparing him for it."
"Yes," Temari smiled, then teased, "Gaara asked me to let you know he's going to beat you to it."
"Haha, that guy's changed so much. I regret not taking a picture of his bloodthirsty face from three years ago," Yagyu laughed.
"Yes, Gaara was pretty terrifying back then," Temari said with a soft laugh.
"When's the inauguration ceremony?" Yagyu asked.
"In five days."
"Perfect timing; I'm on break. I'll come," Yagyu replied, glancing outside at the setting sun. "You should stay here tonight. Let me treat you to dinner."
"Yes… I'd love that," Temari said, her eyes lighting up with excitement.
Finally, she'd get to taste Yagyu's cooking again!
Handsome, tall, intelligent, gentle, and a fantastic cook—it was no wonder those other girls were willing to share Yagyu.
As she watched him check the refrigerator for ingredients, her gaze softened, and a thought crossed her mind.
If possible, she wanted to join this family too.
"Temari, want to take a walk outside?" Yagyu suddenly asked, turning back to her.
"…Yes," she replied, her cheeks reddening once more as she quickly looked down.
From the moment she'd met Yagyu, her heart hadn't stopped pounding, and her face had stayed flushed.
She couldn't describe the feeling, but she knew she didn't dislike it—in fact, she loved it.
