Yasuke (OC - The New Anbu Commander), though a civilian-born ninja, had risen through the ranks through hard work and talent. He was pragmatic, and he understood the implications of Rasa's death.
Rasa was dead — the thought was still unbelievable. His worst fears had materialized. But how had it happened?
He glanced at Baki, a silent acknowledgment passing between them.
Baki, driven by his ambition, had killed the Kazekage.
If Yasuke did nothing, Baki would likely become the Fifth Kazekage. As a neutral party, he'd be safe.
But if he acted—if he revealed Rasa's final orders and supported Elder Kosaka's claim—Sunagakure would erupt in civil war.
Perhaps the wisest course of action was to—conceal Rasa's dying wish.
But he was a ninja. Loyalty, duty—these weren't easily discarded.
How could he stand by and watch Rasa's legacy be tarnished, Sunagakure fall into the hands of a power-hungry warmonger?
Taking a deep breath, Yasuke stepped forward, revealing the Kazekage's seal. "Elder Chiyo! Before his death, the Fourth Kazekage entrusted me with this…"

Baki's teacup shattered on the floor.
His face contorted with rage, his hands gripping the edge of the table.
Everything had been going so smoothly. The Kazekage title was within his grasp. And now—Yasuke, with his—last-minute will and testament.
"That—damn Rasa! Even in death, he tries to undermine me! We were practically brothers! And he trusted—Yasuke?! That outsider?!"
Kankuro, watching Baki's outburst, asked, "So—what do we do? Give up?"
"Give up? It's too late for that!"
He'd already made a deal with the Akatsuki. And his own ambition—it couldn't be contained.
If he didn't act now, would he have to assassinate the Fifth Kazekage later? Even a fool could see the pattern.
And Sunagakure, still reeling from Rasa's death, was vulnerable. Even the Anbu, under Yasuke and the acting Kazekage, were—divided.
If he didn't seize this opportunity, once Kosaka Kaoru consolidated his power, it would be too late. Sunagakure, under a merchant's leadership, would lose its ninja spirit, becoming Konoha's puppet.
That—was unacceptable.
Baki's rage subsided, replaced by a chilling calm. "Summon the Thirty-Two. Tonight. At my residence."
Kankuro, seeing his resolve, nodded and left to relay the message.

That night, Baki's home was filled with the aroma of fine food and the lingering scent of expensive "Hard Konoha" cigarettes.
Baki sat at the head of the table, flanked by thirty-four members of the Thirty-Two, his most loyal supporters.
Clan elders, veteran ninja, promising young officers—all gathered here at his summons.
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Baki raised his sake cup. "Among you are seasoned veterans and promising young ninja. But you all share one thing: you are true Suna ninja, with ambition in your hearts. You won't stand idly by and watch Sunagakure become Konoha's vassal."
"Once Kosaka Kaoru becomes Kazekage, you'll all be—discarded. Will you go to him, beg him to keep you? Will you—become merchants' lapdogs?"
"We are Suna ninja! True Suna ninja! Remember the Third Kazekage's words: 'The night of revolution might be brief, but its glory is eternal!' It's time for a—new era. And I won't—hoard the glory." Baki's voice rose, his words fueled by sake and ambition. "Will you be merchants' dogs, Konoha's dogs? Or will you reclaim Suna's glory?!"
The Thirty-Two stared at him, stunned. They hadn't expected him to be so—bold.
Their faces reflected a mix of worry and—hesitation.
This was treason.
"If we fail—we'll all be executed," an elder warned.
"I'll take the blame!" Baki declared, his voice firm. "You are Suna's elite. They won't execute us all. They'll need a scapegoat. And that will be me. If you want out—kill me now. Take my head to the Kazekage Tower. You'll be rewarded."
He then began assigning positions — Anbu Commander, Deputy Commander, Deputy Police Chief.
His—generosity, coupled with the implied threat, swayed them. They wouldn't die. What was there to fear?
"What's the plan?" a more pragmatic ninja asked. "This can't just be—talk. Kosaka Kaoru will soon be acting Kazekage."
"I've been investigating Rasa's death," Baki said, a sinister smile spreading across his face. "It seems—Kosaka Kaoru is—a suspect. He's been—implicated in the assassination plot."
Whether it was true or not—it didn't matter. The accusation alone was enough.
Rasa's chosen successor—the mastermind behind his death. How—ironic.
"What about Yasuke? He controls the Anbu. And the Police Chief isn't one of us."
"I'll take this—warrant to Chiyo. You—keep Yasuke and the Police Chief occupied until she signs it." They needed her approval to legitimize their actions. Otherwise, it would be a coup. And even if they succeeded, their position wouldn't be secure.
"Will she—agree?"
"She has to. Sunagakure needs us. We can't afford internal conflict, not now."
The plan seemed—foolproof.
"When do we begin?"
"Tonight."
"Relax. We'll succeed."

Boom!
"Who's there?!"
Several guards fell, their bodies riddled with kunai.
Kosaka Kaoru stared in shock as Baki and his men stormed into his home.
"You're—under arrest, Kosaka. Come with us," one of them sneered, gesturing towards the door. Until Chiyo signed the warrant, they couldn't—harm him.
…
…
Baki arrived at Chiyo's residence and knocked.
"Baki? What brings you here so late?" She led him inside.
The table in her living room was piled high with paperwork.
Baki produced the warrant, bowing respectfully. "Elder Chiyo, we've discovered that Kosaka Kaoru—might be involved in Rasa's assassination. We request your signature on this warrant."
Chiyo took the warrant and examined it carefully. After a long silence, she shook her head. "The evidence is—insufficient. I can't sign this."
"Elder Chiyo…" Baki's voice was laced with urgency. Couldn't she see what he was doing? She had to sign. For the village's sake.
"There's no need to—discuss this further. Without concrete evidence, I won't sign," Chiyo said firmly. She sighed, looking at Baki's frustrated expression.
She knew what he was doing.
This wasn't a warrant; it was a declaration of war. If she signed, she and Ebizo would be—branded traitors.
And more importantly…
She knew Baki. A power-hungry ninja like him would destroy Sunagakure.
But he controlled the military. And Rasa was dead.
She was—powerless. She'd let them fight it out. If Kosaka's faction won, the warrant would be useless. If Baki won—she'd sign, for the village's sake.
"Ebizo—he handles the village's intelligence. If he agrees—if he comes to me with you, I'll sign."
"I understand. I'll—return, Elder Chiyo."
Baki, his face grim, left.
Kankuro, waiting outside, approached. "She refused?"
"Stubborn old woman."
"Now what?"
"Now—we break her. She's counting on Ebizo, hoping he'll side with her. We'll—change his mind."
<><><><>
The news threw the Thirty-Two into chaos.
"What?! You said she'd sign! I've already—captured Kosaka Kaoru! This is treason!"
"Once the Anbu and the Military Police realize what we've done, we're all dead!"
Though they'd made a bold move, their true strength lay in the—regular forces stationed outside the village.
The true battlefield was the Kazekage Tower. They were outnumbered, outmatched.
They'd be—crushed.
And as they feared, the Kazekage Tower was already mobilizing.
Yasuke, his face grim, stood before a map of Sunagakure, Baki's residence circled.
"Those madmen—they actually captured the acting Kazekage!"
"By order of the Kazekage Tower, Sunagakure is under lockdown. Baki's faction, having captured and held Kosaka Kaoru hostage, are hereby declared missing-nin."
"Apprehend them all! Rescue the acting Kazekage! Kill anyone who resists! Use explosive tags! Blow them all to hell!"
"We will hunt them down! We'll find them, and we'll—eliminate them!"
Yasuke knew this was a fight for survival.
Baki had likely captured Kosaka Kaoru to force Chiyo's hand. Once she signed the warrant, he'd become Kazekage.
But she hadn't signed.
There was still hope. Capture Baki and his men, execute them, and by morning, Sunagakure would—return to normal.
But if they reached Ebizo first…
Whoever controlled the Kazekage Tower held the power.
And whoever lost—died.
"Where's Ebizo?"
