Chapter 167: Chapter 169
On top of the dome.
At this moment, the Four Purple Flame Formation was engulfed by the dense forest created by the First Hokage's Wood Release, making it impossible to see what was happening inside.
Inside the dense forest.
With a "puff," Hiruzen Sarutobi spat out a large mouthful of blood.
As the souls in Orochimaru's arms were cut off, the Shinigami gradually devoured both Hiruzen's soul and the souls in Orochimaru's hands. Hiruzen's vision began to blur. Mustering the last of his strength, he looked at Kirito and said hoarsely, "Why? I clearly sealed your soul. Why are you still alive?"
"What? Do you want to die knowing the truth?" Kirito smirked and casually tossed a lifeless crow onto the ground. "Alright, since you're so eager, I'll let you know before you go."
"You used the Uzumaki clan's forbidden sealing technique, Shiki Fuujin, correct? A powerful jutsu that summons the Shinigami to sever the target's soul with its blade and devour it. The target's soul is sealed forever within its stomach. The size of the sealed soul depends on the caster's will, and the jutsu is virtually unavoidable."
Kirito crouched closer to the dying Hokage, continuing in a cold, mocking tone, "But what you sealed wasn't me—it was this crow. You fell for my Kyouka Suigetsu. A mere illusion clouded your senses, and you mistook a lifeless crow for me. Do you truly think someone of your caliber could seal me?"
"Impossible…" Hiruzen's voice trailed off, his face ashen as despair set in. He coughed violently, spitting blood as he realized the depth of his failure.
Kirito smirked, "If it makes you feel better, even if you had managed to summon the Shinigami properly, I could cut it down with my blade. But you weren't even close to that."
"Damn you…" Hiruzen growled, his strength leaving him as his eyes dimmed. His vision blurred, and with one last look at Kirito and Orochimaru, he collapsed, lifeless.
As Hiruzen's body fell, Orochimaru let out an anguished scream, "You damn old fool! Give me my arms back!"
Orochimaru's arms, once powerful tools for his sinister jutsu, had become charred and lifeless as a result of the Shiki Fuujin. The pain was unbearable, his golden pupils filled with rage and despair.
"Stop shouting," Kirito said with a mocking grin. "Our deal is complete. Sarutobi Hiruzen is dead, and the Konoha Collapse Plan is finished. Now, it's time for you to hand over what I want."
Orochimaru's eyes widened with fury. "You… you shameless traitor! You knew this would happen, didn't you? You let me lose my arms just so you could blackmail me for your benefit!"
Kirito tilted his head, his grin widening. "Oh, come now, Orochimaru. Let's not act so high and mighty. You're the one who tried to betray me during the Chunin Exams. Consider this karma."
"Bastard!" Orochimaru spat, trembling with rage. "You want the Flying Thunder God Technique, don't you? Fine! But you'll pay for this humiliation one day!"
Kirito laughed coldly, drawing his blade. "And what's stopping me from taking your legs too, Orochimaru? A man with no arms and no legs would hardly be a threat to me."
The gleam of Kirito's blade and his menacing tone sent shivers down Orochimaru's spine. Realizing he had no choice, he growled, "Fine. I'll give it to you."
"There, that wasn't so hard," Kirito said, sheathing his blade as he smiled. "A pleasure doing business."
Outside the Dome
Meanwhile, outside the Four Purple Flame Formation, Kakashi knelt before Tsunade, now officially the Fifth Hokage. "Lady Tsunade," he reported, "the Sand Ninja forces have withdrawn, and the invading Sound Ninja have been neutralized. Yakushi Kabuto managed to escape, but our casualties have been minimal."
"Good," Tsunade said, her voice steady. "And Kirito? What happened to him?"
Kakashi hesitated, unsure of how to respond. But before he could speak, Kurenai Yuhi approached, her eyes red and filled with grief. "Kirito… he was ambushed by the Third Hokage. Hiruzen used a forbidden sealing technique to trap his soul."
"What?!" Tsunade's face paled, and her body trembled as the memory of losing her loved ones flooded back. Her breath quickened, and her hands began to shake.
"I can't…" she whispered. "Not again…"
Before anyone could respond, the Four Purple Flame Formation suddenly unraveled. Orochimaru, flanked by the Four Sound Ninjas, emerged from the dense forest, his arms limp and lifeless.
"Where do you think you're going?" an Anbu shouted, attempting to block Orochimaru's escape. But before they could engage, Kidomaru's chakra silk restrained them, allowing Orochimaru to flee.
