Chapter 9: chapter : 9 Hidden agend

In an apartment Damian sat in his study, deep in thought. His mind kept drifting back to Selena.

After a long moment, he picked up his phone and made a call. "Investigate these three women and report back to me," he ordered, his voice cold and unreadable.

He didn't want Selena to face any trouble, but something about her past or the people around her made him cautious.

Downstairs, the maids had already prepared lunch, but he barely touched his food. After a few bites, he pushed the plate aside, his appetite fading as his mind remained preoccupied. With a quiet sigh, Damian stood up, his chair scraping softly against the floor. He walked toward the door, his steps deliberate, his expression unreadable.

Another ProblemBack at Selena's office, Sera knocked on the door and stepped inside. "The board members are waiting for you in the conference room."

Selena stood up, adjusting her blazer. "Let's go."

Into the meeting, frustration was already brewing inside her. She was prepared for the usual reports, but instead, she was hit with a new problem.

"Our main model, Elena Moreau, had an accident," one of the managers informed, his voice tense. "She won't be able to attend the fashion event."

Sera glanced at Selena, her expression apologetic. "I'm sorry, ma'am. I just received the update," she said quietly, understanding the gravity of the situation.

Selena's eyes darkened. Elena Moreau was a top model, and her absence was a massive setback. "How bad is it?" she asked, her tone sharp, the weight of the situation settling in. She needed answers, and she needed them fast. This could potentially disrupt everything they had planned for the event, and Selena wasn't about to let it ruin their reputation.

"She fractured her leg. She won't recover in time," the manager replied, his voice tinged with regret.

Selena's jaw tightened at the news. A top model like Elena couldn't be easily replaced, especially with such short notice. Selena clenched her jaw. The company had invested heavily in this event, and now they were left without their most important model.

She took a deep breath, trying to keep her composure. "Find a replacement," she ordered, her voice cold but controlled. "We can't afford to lose this event." Her mind was already calculating the next steps, determined not to let this setback define them.

"We're already looking, ma'am," Sera assured her. "We have a few potential candidates, but it will take time to finalize."

Selena exhaled slowly, her irritation growing with each passing second. "I don't care how you do it. Just fix this," she said, her voice tight with controlled anger. The urgency in her tone made it clear that failure was not an option. She stared at the manager, her gaze unwavering, waiting for him to understand the weight of her words. There was no room for excuses, only solutions.

Her eyes swept across the room, landing on the managers and designers. "And let this be a lesson next time, we have a backup plan in place. I won't tolerate another mess like this."

The meeting ended, and Selena returned to her office, exhaustion washing over her.

She leaned against her desk, closing her eyes for a moment. First, the issue with the fashion department. Now, their lead model was unavailable.

A Clash of PowerSelena and Sera walked through the company corridors, heading toward the exit. The day had been exhausting, filled with one problem after another. Just as they reached the lobby, the glass doors swung open, and three figures strode in Lilian and her two friends.

Lilian's sharp gaze landed on Selena, and a slow smirk spread across her lips. "Oh, you work here?" she said mockingly, stepping closer. Her voice was laced with condescension, as though she was deliberately testing Selena's composure. There was an air of superiority in her posture, and she seemed to enjoy the tension she was creating.

Selena, already drained from the day's chaos, barely lifted an eyebrow. "And if I do?" Her voice was cold, her dark gaze unwavering. She stood her ground, her posture straight and commanding, refusing to let Lilian's provocations get the better of her. The silence between them thickened, a battle of wills silently playing out in the air.

Lilian hesitated for a fraction of a second, unnerved by the intensity in Selena's eyes. But she quickly regained her composure. "You don't know who I am," she said, her one dripping with arrogance. "If I want, I can make you lose your job."

She said, "Do whatever you can," and Selena and Sera walked away without looking back. Lilian stood still for a moment, her eyes burning with frustration. She clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she fought to suppress her anger. The nerve of Selena to walk away so calmly, as if she were untouchable it only fueled the fire within Lilian, who was determined to make her presence known.

"That woman… she's nothing but an employee," one of her friends whispered, watching Selena and Sera walk away.

Lilian scoffed, her eyes narrowing with disdain. "We'll see about that," she muttered, her voice dripping with malice. She wasn't about to let Selena's calm demeanor fool her. There was something about her that irked Lilian, and she wasn't going to rest until she had the upper hand.

A Dangerous ComplaintLilian stormed into one of the manager's offices, her expression full of feigned distress. Sitting behind the desk was her uncle, a middle-aged man with a stern face.

"Uncle," Lilian said in a soft, innocent tone, her eyes wide with feigned hurt, "someone bullied me in this company." She looked up at him, her expression one of vulnerability, as if she were the victim in a situation she had carefully crafted. The words dripped with false innocence, her gaze searching his face for the reaction she knew would come.

Her uncle's expression darkened, his jaw tightening. "Who dares to treat my niece this way?" His voice was low and dangerous, the protective streak in him immediately rising. He was a man who didn't take kindly to anyone harming his family, and Lilian knew how to push the right buttons. She could already see the storm brewing in his eyes.

Lilian's friends quickly added their voices, twisting the story to make Selena look like the aggressor.

The manager slammed his hand on the table, his face flushed with anger. "I won't tolerate this! Who is she?" His voice was sharp, a mixture of confusion and frustration. He didn't know who Selena was, but the way Lilian spoke about her made it clear that she had somehow crossed a line. The manager's eyes narrowed as he awaited Lilian's response, eager to know who he would need to deal with.

Lilian said, pretending to be hesitant, "I think she's just a low-level employee." Her voice was filled with feigned uncertainty, her eyes gleaming with satisfaction as she played her part.

Her uncle's fury grew, his eyes narrowing with anger. "I'll deal with her immediately!" His voice was filled with a dangerous edge, and the threat of his power hung in the air. He would make sure no one crossed his niece, not without facing the consequences.

An Unfinished BattleMeanwhile, Selena and Sera arrived at a nearby restaurant to unwind after the stressful day. The air was thick with tension, but Selena remained composed, her mind calculating the next steps.

an unexpected guest appeared.

A tall figure approached their entrance . His deep, knowing eyes locked onto Selena. Hi is a caspian

"Selena," he greeted with a smirk.

Lilian, who had also entered the restaurant , froze in place. Her furious gaze flickered between Selena and the caspian standing before her.

Lilian clenched her fists, seething. This wasn't over.
