My Will Is Absolute

Chapter 8: -Something Tender-

"Go go go"

The sound of rushed steps filled the narrow corridor, accompanied by the palpating hearts of four youths who had just escaped death.

Having left behind the summoned Terracotta by the white haired youth whose expression was now that of misgivings. To try hold out against their pursuers, despite knowing how futile it was as they had witnessed it being blasted into bits with repeated charge from their pursuer. The few seconds it bought them was the reason they had been alive to this moment.

The unprecended tragedy that befell them after they succeeded their Tribulation had been going on for more than three days.

And despite their newfound powers as Bearers , being pursued for such a long time with barely any rest by a batch of Hollow-humans , long since drew the last of their stamina.

Not only that, their group of ten which had once been bustling with ambition to take hold of their current misfortune to Fortune was now four.

One turned Hollow due to being pompous and decided to attack the Hollows using his newly gained ability, and the second a girl who was his girlfriend did so with him.

Two scape goats were enough to lit up their ass with a reality check up, but they had underestimated the dangers they were in or rather how devious this place was to claim their lives.

The third and fourth while running ignorantly stepped on a trap that claimed their life in a flash, two scyth lunged downward from above the stone ceiling and cleaved their head before they could react, leaving their cohort with six youths.

Well, the death of the fifth one came in a similar manner, but not in vain.

The trap he activated made them realize where they were transported to.

A newly emerged Ruin from the Egyptian history, usually it would be a world stirring event, but not to them, a group of newly crowned Barons.

And about thirty minute ago they had witnessed the death of the sixth person, devoured by a swamp of insect in the blink of an eye.

Currently that was what they were running from..

"Here take a dive" renewing the strength of those who heard him, Alex pointed at the narrow space they had just almost missed if not for his sharp sense of the wind, a newly gained passive ability granted by the Will he inherited.

The passage was narrow and dark, barely fitting for a person to pass through, with its wall carved with...

Bang!

There was a slight tremor through the wall and Kelvin the earliest of the youth to have gotten inside was punctured with nails from the walls. His eyes frozen with a terrified glint as he lost all signs of life.

Taken by horror the whole group froze, staring cautiously at the dead corpse as a cold chill crawled through their spine. Obviously the youth Alex that had spoken earlier wasn't kind enough to not have jumped into the narrow passage first when there was a swarm of insidious insect chasing after them .

And failing to realize this earlier, Kelvin had lost his life , used as a bait.

But no one cared, none showed pity, he was from Fortunate anyway, instead they appeared relieved with a happy glint in their eyes. Someone had triggered a trap so their path was safe till the next turn.

But due to their slight delay, the buzzing noise of insects became audible again, meaning they had less than thirty seconds remaining.

Revealing a frown Alex, pushed the girl aside and went in before her.

Amelia on the other hand despite being pushed away maintained a calm expression behind her mask, showing no hint of panic at being the last for some unknown reason…

The approaching buzz got louder as seconds passed, due to the dead Kelvin corpse, stucked between two death option there was pin drop silence as everyone held their breath, eyes tightly shut and as still as a non-living thing.

 …

'Where am I?'

Openning his stealthy eyes that was welcomed with grim darkness and tense atmosphere, the air felt suffocating and familiar as if he were in a tight space…

'Wait, the smell of blood?' Squirming his nose he suddenly realized what the strange smell was. He had experienced it so many times in his hazy memories which he could not remember with only a sense of familiarity.

'I succeeded my Tribulation?' suddenly realizing what the hazy forgotten memory meant, Flynn thought…

Driven by a sense of excitement, his awareness increasingly got vivid, repeating the first question…

'Where am I?'

Then his eyes shot open with clarity, only to drift into stunned silence…

'Ehen?'

Eerie black, with no sign of life within them, filled with nothing but cold indifference, Flynn felt a soft thuggle in his mind as if he was being pulled into them with a foreign submissive pang in his heart, almost unable to resist … The black pupils instantly vanished, replaced by a mix of normal hazel eyes which appeared to have frozen in shock.

"What are you trying to do?" Flynn asked realizing those pair of lifeless pupils did belong to a human, through the narrow space was dark, he could make out vague outline of her to come to such conclusion…

'Wait, she's a girl?' Taken by surprise, it was like many dormant gears in his head had kick start, functioning at 00.1 seconds.

'I get that everyone are randomly teleported after their Tribulation, but that shouldn't make sense that I was sent to bed with a girl?' And yet before he could come to a conclusion, his thoughts halted…

'No bed…'

'Dark, seems narrow…'

'And there's a girl so fucking close beside me…'

'Isn't that the smell of blood…'

'Where was I sent to?'

Without hesitating he pushed the girl away but then realized how narrow the space was…

But then there was silence, Flynn's eyes widened as he grasped the soft embrace of something tender…

The pair of hazel pupils also widened in shock…

"Oh shit…" Flynn was able to briefly mutter before a backhand managed to squeeze out and land on his face pushing out of the narrow space to a bright lit passage.

On the other hand… Just as they waited for their death listening to the buzzing sound which had suddenly disappeared.

They felt a series of movements behind them which they thought was a sign of one of them being devoured by the swarm, only that there was no sound or scream…

"Oh shit" they heard a voice…
