Chapter 27
Ling Jianshu firmly believed that the loyalty between men was the most important thing!
He and Qiao Song had an indestructible relationship, and no random guy from outside could possibly ruin it.
Although he thought this way, he felt a bit uneasy.
Someone who knew him passed by and curiously looked at his fidgety state, asking, “Ling Brother, what are you doing?”
“Uh, just exercising, just exercising.” he said as he did a few standard stretching exercises and pretended to jog around the dorm building a couple of times. By the time he returned, Qiao Song and Xia Zhe had already disappeared.
He knew perfectly well that if the two were together, they were most likely catching up, which was quite normal. Yet, he couldn’t shake the feeling of restless anxiety, constantly thinking about where they might be and what they might be doing.
In the quiet dormitory, his tall figure was seen pacing back and forth, his heavy footsteps growing more impatient.
“Ling Brother, is there some urgent matter?” Liu Junming looked at him in confusion, genuinely unaccustomed to seeing him so anxious.
“Look at what time it is! It’s abnormal not to be back at this hour!” Ling Jianshu furrowed his brows deeply.
“Huh? What? It’s only 7 o’clock. Is it that late?” Liu Junming clearly didn’t understand Ling Jianshu’s concern.
But Cheng Yuan immediately caught on, “Ling Brother is worried about Qiao Qiao.”
“Qiao Qiao is an adult. Not coming back by 7 or even staying out all night isn’t a big deal, right?” Liu Junming said, dismissing the concern.
Staying out all night… Staying out all night?! Qiao Qiao staying out all night with Xia Zhe…
What could those two gays be doing if they stayed out all night?
His mind was overwhelmed with chaotic thoughts, and he began pacing anxiously again, trying not to think too deeply.
So, what exactly do two men do when they’re together…?
Suddenly realizing his thoughts were heading in a strange direction, he shook his head and refocused.
“Qiao Qiao shouldn’t stay out all night; it’s still early,” Cheng Yuan quickly reassured.
There wasn’t much more to discuss, and soon everyone went back to their own activities.
Ling Jianshu picked up his phone, scrolled through social media, glanced at the clock on his phone, and saw that only ten minutes had passed.
Opening a game, his teammate surrendered before the game ended.
He checked the time again. Good, now it had been 12 minutes.
In this restless waiting, time finally reached 9 o’clock in the evening.
“It’s already 9 o’clock. Do you think… something might have happened to Qiao Song?” he asked anxiously.
“Ling Brother, even in high school, the curfew was past 9 o’clock,” Cheng Yuan continued to soothe him.
“Can you compare yourself to Qiao Qiao? With your tough skin, who would want to rob you at night? Rob your money or your…?”
Cheng Yuan, unfairly caught in the crossfire, shouted, “Ling Brother, though I’m not as delicate as him, I’m still the precious only child of the Du family. How come you’re making me sound so worthless?”
Ling Jianshu wasn’t in the mood for jokes and thought about directly sending a message to ask Qiao Song what he was doing.
As soon as he opened his phone, before he could type a message, he saw a new post from him.
What was initially psychological restlessness turned into action when he saw the new post. Without a second thought, he dashed out of the dormitory.
“Hey, Ling Brother, where are you going so late?” Cheng Yuan’s question was met with the sound of the door slamming shut.
He,shrugged, refreshed his social media feed, and a mischievous smile appeared on his lips. No wonder he ran out so fast.
He opened the new post from Qiao Song. It was a photo, under dim light, with colorful lights casting over two particularly attractive faces.
One of them, a cute, baby-faced boy, had his arm around Qiao Song’s shoulder, their faces almost touching, in an extremely intimate pose.
This photo clearly showed that their relationship was anything but ordinary.
So…
Ling Brother was…
He was really anxious.
Meanwhile, Ling Jianshu, who had impulsively dashed out of the dormitory, was now standing on the dimly lit steps, dazed while holding his phone.
What was he supposed to do? Of course, he was going to find Qiao Song!
But how should he find him? How should he know where he was?
Should he just ask him directly? Would that make him think he was meddling? The three of them were here, right under the dormitory building, and it was clear that Qiao Song didn’t want him involved in their business.
If he directly asked him now, he felt he could guess the answer. Qiao Song would probably not tell him where he was and definitely wouldn’t want him to come over.
He calmed down, zoomed in on the photo, and decided to search for clues in the details.
His effort paid off as he found a clue. The photo included a coaster on the table with the bar’s name, “Xiseli,” printed on it.
He quickly used his phone’s powerful search function to find the address of Xiseli Bar and booked a ride.
It took about half an hour to get from the school to the Bar. They should still be at the bar.
Meanwhile, Qiao Song looked somewhat helplessly at Xia Zhe beside him. “Alright, I posted it on Moments. Are you satisfied now?”
“Mm~ That’s much better.” Xia Zhe winked at him, looking very cute, “As your best friend, I should announce to the world, just like in a relationship!”
“Fine, fine, whatever you say.” Qiao Song, though somewhat helpless, indulged him with a hint of affection.
Not just taking photos, even coming to a gay bar… he didn’t find it particularly interesting, but since Xia Zhe rarely came back to the country, going to a bar wasn’t a big deal, so he agreed.
“Let’s go! Let’s dance!” Xia Zhe dragged him towards the dance floor.
“Eh, I’ll pass…”
