My Monster Fuses Everything

Even with a Second-grade Monster leading the team, the Blackthorn Glutton's Spiked Eruption still swiftly cleared the field.

After a large number of kills, they quickly cleaned up the entire route, including after everyone entered the oil depot, it remained the same.

The oil depot was vast, with three storage tanks, each five stories tall, standing on an open field. The railways and pipelines for transporting gasoline and diesel had stopped, leaving the area extremely empty.

The staff had long perished, and various monsters had taken over the place.

When Zhu Xiong and his team entered the area, they promptly launched an attack.

Led by the Blackthorn Glutton, all team members were restricted from using crossbows and rifles, instead fighting monsters in close combat and keeping away from the pipelines and large oil tanks.

Normally, entering such a place would require eliminating all static electricity and making all necessary safety preparations, but now they could only lower their standards.

Clearing the monsters wasn't difficult. After the clean-up, they posted guards at scattered locations, and then began the transport of gasoline and diesel. The team included petrochemical workers who still knew a bit about the process.

They just weren't the staff of this particular oil depot and didn't know its exact location.

Loads of gasoline were transported back, one truck after another. After ensuring the area was safe, Guo Gang returned to the rendezvous point with the first shipment and arranged more outposts along the route.

Both were cautious in their approach, but this only made the transportation of gasoline safer.

The three oil depots held enough fuel for all the vehicles in South City for three to four days. If it was just for the vehicles of the Tree Domain Camp, especially those used for field operations, the supply could last for several months or even longer.

After a full day and night, Zhu Xiong and his team managed to transport the gasoline without any real scares, although there were monster attacks. However, with the early warning from the Sky Cavalry and support from the responding troops, no actual damage occurred.

All the gasoline transported to the Tree Domain was stored in volumes equivalent to two tank trucks per storage location, ensuring that no chain accidents would occur.

"Even just operating in the suburbs, the large team attracted almost two thousand monsters, and there were Second-grade Monsters among them. Operating freely outside would be quite difficult," Zhu Xiong reported to Su Han. Although he had advanced in rank, he still didn't underestimate the wilderness conditions.

"Has Qilan determined the original forms of the monsters?"

"The Black Thorn Gigantic Beasts are primates, but there are other animals too. It's just hard to nail down the species. There are also quite a few humans, and many small villages in the suburbs."

The small villages by the roads on the outskirts of the city were actually quite numerous.

These villages were a moderate distance from the city. With most of the young people living in the city, the villages were mostly populated by the middle-aged, elderly, and children, and they relied heavily on the city for supplies. Their ability to withstand a widespread apocalyptic disaster was really low, and they were essentially wiped out.

Some of the monsters that attacked the team came from these villages, but that wasn't all. There were undoubtedly many more monsters that hadn't discovered the convoy.

Su Han said, "Zhang Xinxin and his group took the highway when they came over. Their team was smaller, so they made less noise, but they still lost quite a bit along the way, not to mention now, with the monsters growing stronger."

Zhu Xiong mentioned, "As for the exploration outside, Meiyu had an idea."

"Linking the exploration teams to Contribution Value? Semi-free squads?"

Yan Meiyu had certainly discussed this with Su Han, but he shook his head: "It's feasible, but not yet."

The so-called semi-free squads were Contracted individuals with clear backgrounds, issued regular permits to explore outside the city. They were allowed to go out for exploration and hunting in exchange for Contribution Value, serving as a complement to the official exploration by Tree Domain teams and as an important incentive.

As the population of the Tree Domain increased, there were naturally some who weren't integrated into the Tree Domain Troops but still had considerable combat ability.

The Tree Domain couldn't afford to waste this combat ability and needed to make use of it, but couldn't just incorporate them into the combat units.

Hastily and randomly integrating into the system could also disrupt the command structure, which could make overall combat effectiveness chaotic. A gradual approach was necessary.

However, it wasn't something that could be implemented right away.

"We won't focus on exploring outside the city until South City has been taken," Su Han stated. "I'll have Xia Ning deploy Parasitic Corpse Willows outside and ask Kailing to expand the search perimeter for better early warning. No matter how many or strong the monsters outside are, they'd need to gather in tens of thousands or have a Third Order appear to become a threat, and both are detectable.

As for the next target, there's only the East District."

Zhu Xiong grew serious, "Are we starting?"

"Yes, you go ahead and clear the monsters and the fallen, focusing on driving them out. At the same time, take a construction team to set up small barricades at key intersections and get ready. Once the North District's wall is finished, we'll proceed with the sweep," Su Han instructed.
