My Eccentric Harem

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Aqua Goes to School

Aoyama sat at the tiny table in his cramped apartment, staring at the glowing interface that had just dropped two items into his lap—literally. Aqua's Birth Certificate and Student ID lay before him, radiating an otherworldly glow. He picked up the ID, grimacing as he read the details.

Aoyama let out a long sigh. "You've got to be kidding me. Why does this system think it's a good idea to send you to my school?"

"Hmm?" Aqua, who had been rifling through his fridge and complaining about the lack of wine, glanced over. "What are you mumbling about now?"

"This!" Aoyama shoved the ID at her. "It's apparently your student ID for my school."

Aqua snatched it, raising an eyebrow as she examined it. "Saitama High School? What kind of lame-sounding place is that?"

"Hey, it's not lame!" Aoyama snapped defensively. "It's just… a normal school."

"Normal?" Aqua groaned, flopping onto his futon again. "I'm a goddess! Why would I go to some boring human school? This is beneath me."

"Well, according to the system, you're now a 17-year-old high school student," Aoyama muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose. "So guess what? You're going to school with me."

Aqua bolted upright, looking horrified. "Excuse me?!"

"You heard me," Aoyama said, standing and crossing his arms. "The last thing I need is for the school to ask why a random blue-haired girl is hanging around my apartment. The ID says you're a transfer student, so you're coming with me. End of discussion."

"But—"

"No buts!" Aoyama cut her off. "The system gave me this responsibility, so I'm making sure you don't screw things up."

Aqua pouted, crossing her arms. "Fine. But don't blame me if I outshine all your lame classmates."

---

The next morning, Aoyama stood outside the school gates, sweating bullets. Beside him, Aqua tugged at the hem of her new uniform—a standard Saitama High girls' outfit. Somehow, the system had conjured it out of thin air, perfectly tailored to her size.

"I look ridiculous," Aqua complained, glaring at the pleated skirt. "This thing is so plain. Where's the flair? The divine radiance?"

"It's a school uniform, not a fashion show," Aoyama muttered, pulling her toward the gates. "Now shut up and follow me. We need to check in with the office."

As they walked through the crowded courtyard, Aoyama could feel dozens of eyes on them. Aqua's striking blue hair and ethereal beauty made her stand out like a sore thumb. He could already hear the whispers.

"Who's that girl?"

"Is she a transfer student?"

"Wow, she's gorgeous!"

Aoyama groaned inwardly. This is going to be a disaster.

They reached the office, where a kind-looking woman behind the desk greeted them. "Good morning. How can I help you?"

"This is Aqua," Aoyama said, gesturing to the goddess-turned-student. "She's the new transfer student."

"Oh, yes! We've been expecting her." The woman smiled and handed Aqua a schedule. "Welcome to Saitama High, Miss Aqua. Your homeroom is Class 2-B. Aoyama, you're in the same class, right? Could you show her the way?"

"Of course," Aoyama said through gritted teeth. He glanced at Aqua, who was staring blankly at the schedule. "Let's go."

---

As they entered Class 2-B, the room fell silent. Every eye turned toward Aqua, who walked in with the confidence of someone who fully believed she was the most important person in the room.

"Everyone," the teacher announced, "we have a new transfer student. Please introduce yourself."

Aqua stepped forward, flipping her hair dramatically. "Greetings, mortals! I am Aqua, a being of divine beauty and unmatched talent. It is an honor for you all to bask in my presence."

The class stared, stunned into silence.

Aoyama slapped a hand over his face. "What are you doing?!" he hissed.

"What?" Aqua whispered back. "I'm making a good first impression."

"You sound like a lunatic!" Aoyama whispered harshly.

The teacher, looking thoroughly confused but trying to maintain composure, forced a smile. "Thank you… Aqua. Please take a seat next to Aoyama."

Aqua strutted to the empty seat beside him, ignoring the hushed whispers and wide-eyed stares from her new classmates.

---

The rest of the day was a blur of awkward introductions and disastrous interactions. During lunch, Aqua decided to "purify" her water bottle, loudly proclaiming her divine abilities in the middle of the cafeteria. By the end of the day, rumors about the "weird new girl" had already spread like wildfire.

On their way home, Aoyama groaned. "Could you have been any more embarrassing?"

"What's your problem?" Aqua shot back. "I was just being myself."

"That's the problem!" Aoyama snapped. "You're supposed to blend in, not stand out!"

"Well, excuse me for being fabulous," Aqua said, tossing her hair.

Aoyama sighed. "Look, let's just get through this without any more disasters, okay?"

Aqua smirked. "You worry too much. Everything will be fine."

Somehow, Aoyama seriously doubted that.
