Chapter 20: Chapter 20
"Hello, hello!" Huo Zun and Bao Shuyu were greeted as they entered. They were sent by the Ministry of Civil Affairs to register the information.
Huo Zun quickly understood the situation today; he had handled this several times before.
Jia Fuhai and the two sisters began signing documents, with the divorce and marriage done seamlessly.
The process was incredibly fast, almost like magic.
Looking at the two similar sisters, Huo Jian couldn't help but feel envy and jealousy. "Being rich is really good. Sisters, they are like flowers!"
It was really frustrating!
Bao Shuyu was doing overtime for the first time "voluntarily," but she was sensible and didn't complain.
Soon, Jia Fuhai's wife became Zhen Linna, and Zhen Linqi was marked as divorced.
"Alright, it's all done. We'll be on our way now," Huo Jian said, acting considerate as they were about to leave.
"Thank you, thank you. Let me see you off." Jia Fuhai quickly stood up to see the two off.
...
"Huo Ge, rich people really know how to have fun! Divorce and remarry like it's a game," Bao Shuyu said, sitting in the car, genuinely amazed.
"Nothing surprising," Huo Jian snorted as he drove.
Huo Jian really liked these kinds of overtime tasks. After all, it was a win-win situation.
The Ministry of Civil Affairs received donations to improve facilities, and they just needed voluntary overtime staff to run errands.
For the volunteers, it was a great opportunity because they got overtime pay, which meant extra money for doing easy work.
Huo Jian, thanks to having a minister uncle, could get such opportunities during his vacation.
Bao Shuyu was lucky, too, because at least two people were needed for these tasks. Today, other staff members were unavailable, and those on official duty couldn't leave, so she got the spot.
However, she could only earn one-fifth of what Huo Jian made since she wasn't at the same level.
This was all legal and fair—volunteer work meant no payment from the client, only overtime pay from the Ministry.
The ministry got donations, the staff got overtime pay, and the task was completed. Everyone got what they wanted, and all were happy.
...
"Nana, sorry for not having a wedding," Jia Fuhai whispered, rubbing Zhen Linna's belly.
"Hai Ge, it's fine; it's my sister who's wronged. Sis! I love you!" Zhen Linna said, throwing a flirtatious look at Zhen Linqi, who was holding Qi Yi.
"Just stop with the tricks; loving me is enough," Zhen Linqi refused her sister's flirtatious glances. Her younger sister's antics sometimes made her speechless.
"Hehe!" Zhen Linqi smiled while listening to Jia Fuhai, who had his head on her belly.
Zhen Linqi looked at her sister and smiled, then started teaching her son, "Mama, mama, mama."
"Mama~ mama~ mama~" Jia Qi Yi quickly responded.
"Hai Ge! Hai Ge! Look, Qi Yi is calling mama!" Zhen Linqi said excitedly, a little incoherent with joy.
Jia Fuhai and Zhen Linna immediately leaned in to see.
"My son is definitely a genius. Qi Qi, you did well!" Jia Fuhai was thrilled. It hadn't been long, and his son was already learning.
"Dad! Dad! Dad!" Zhen Linqi raised Jia Qi Yi to continue the lesson.
"Dad~ Dad~ Dad." Jia Qi Yi responded.
"Ah!" Jia Fuhai grinned.
"What about me? What about me, sis?" Zhen Linna looked at her sister eagerly.
"Uh..." Zhen Linqi thought for a moment. She called Chen Lina "Mama," but her son couldn't call her "Mama" yet. So she pointed to Zhen Linna and said to her son, "Zhen mama, Zhen mama."
"Zhen~ mama~ Zhen~ mama." Jia Qi Yi's language skills weren't fully developed yet, so when he tried to say two words together, it was a bit disjointed.
"Ah! Qi Yi is amazing," Zhen Linna beamed with joy.
Jia Fuhai took out a camera and started recording. He had originally wanted to capture his son's awkward moments for some revenge, but now it seemed like recording the lessons was a good idea too.
Watching his son's progress, Zhen Linqi was proud and enthusiastic in her teaching.
Jia Qi Yi learned quickly, which filled her with happiness.
Jia Fuhai kept recording, capturing his eldest son's growth story.
Jia Qi Yi, noticing the camera, felt something was off, but he didn't know what it was yet.
With Zhen Linqi's teaching, Jia Qi Yi, aided by his own intelligence and enhanced memory, had already understood all the basic words. Though he hadn't fully grasped the meaning of literature, he had a foundational understanding of words.
...
That night.
After a few days of recovery, Zhen Linqi was completely healed. But considering Zhen Linna's pregnancy, the family decided to stay in the hospital until the baby was born.
"Qi Yi, although he looks like a genius, don't push him to learn so much, okay? He's still so young," Jia Fuhai said. He wasn't worried about his son's innate talent, but every child deserved a carefree childhood.
"Alright, seeing Qi Yi's progress, I got a bit too excited," Zhen Linqi admitted, realizing her son was still so young.
"We're all new to watching children grow; maybe we should ask Mom. Mom, what do you think?" Jia Fuhai turned to consult Chen Lina.
"..." Zhen Fuguo, after hearing about his grandson's progress, was happy but also unsure of what to do.
"Xiao Hai, you should ask a doctor. Qi Yi is clearly a genius child, but I have no experience with something like this!" Chen Lina said, honestly admitting that she had never encountered a child like this before.
"True. This hospital should have dealt with cases like this before," Jia Fuhai realized, feeling a bit embarrassed. He actually thought a child was just a child, but now he saw the need to treat Qi Yi differently.
"When Feifei gets back, ask her. She should know who to turn to for questions about children," Zhen Linqi started planning for Qi Yi's future growth.
Upon hearing the name "Feifei," Zhen Fuguo frowned and glared at Jia Fuhai.
"Alright, but don't rush it. Qi Yi is still so young; the most important thing is for him to have a happy childhood. Don't you think so, Dad?" Jia Fuhai felt like the more they talked about it, the more complicated it got.
"You understand nothing! Are you like him? Don't influence my grandson!" Zhen Fuguo immediately shot back, frustrated by his son-in-law's attitude.
"Ah~ Dad, we're just discussing Qi Yi's future; why are you getting upset?" Zhen Linqi was tired of her father's outbursts.
"Exactly, calm down," Chen Lina patted Zhen Fuguo's back to comfort him.
"..." Jia Fuhai felt inexplicably attacked and frustrated. He wondered if he should start putting in more effort. With his enhanced skills and abilities, he was improving his gaming skills rapidly.
Lie down, work hard... Wait, maybe he could have it all.
