My Children Blessing

Chapter 18: Chapter 18

When Liu Yandi saw Zhen Linqi with her big belly, she didn't want to engage in an argument. It's not that she didn't want to, but mainly because Zhen Linqi knew too much of her past.

Now, during the transfer period, there were so many people around, and Liu Yandi didn't want to make a scene that would be spread across the entire campus. Thanks to the Women's College's legendary gossip network, no one wanted to make a fool of themselves.

Pan Ruyan, who had been criticized just now, was essentially dismissed, and who knows what might have happened if it had gone further.

After her brief encounter with Zhen Linqi, Liu Yandi remembered the information she had asked someone to investigate.

She hadn't expected that Zhen Linqi would marry that "soft rice man." Seeing Zhen Linqi's pregnant belly, it seemed like she was taking time off from school to focus on her pregnancy.

Liu Yandi, like Zhen Fuguo, couldn't understand it. Zhen Linqi had had some admirers in the past, and none of them were as bad as this soft rice man.

Did she think she could train him? Maybe a cute, obedient little boy? But no, that "soft rice man" was so ordinary-looking by Liu Yandi's standards. She couldn't figure out what Zhen Linqi saw in him and concluded that her so-called "friend" was blind.

...

At lunch, Jia Fuhai picked up the two girls from the transfer exam, and they ate together. The next round of exams continued in the afternoon. For the next three days, Zhen Linqi ran into the same two "friends" quite often, but fortunately, they just ignored each other.

At home that evening...

"Feifei, which university do you plan to transfer to?" Jia Fuhai asked, leaning beside Lin Feifei with a frown.

"I plan to study medicine. It's my dream." Lin Feifei answered without hesitation. This had been her dream since childhood, especially after losing her grandparents to illness.

Jia Fuhai sighed when he heard this. After all, advising someone to study medicine seemed like an impossible task, which showed just how difficult it was. No wonder Feifei refused to have children right now—he didn't want to pressure her, especially when the other two girls were already pregnant.

"Medicine, huh? That's tough. Feifei, are you thinking of studying traditional Chinese medicine or Western medicine?" Zhen Linqi, who was reading, turned around and asked.

"I'm not sure yet," Lin Feifei replied. There was a lot of debate about the development of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine in Hong Kong, each with its own strengths.

Zhen Linqi thought for a moment and smiled. Having a doctor in the family wouldn't be bad. Lin Feifei was a great person, and with Jia Fuhai's efforts, Zhen Linna's affection had shifted a little toward her. But if Feifei wanted to study medicine, she'd need a good teacher, and her family didn't seem to have any connections in the field of medicine.

After thinking for a while, Zhen Linqi suddenly remembered a private clinic she frequently visited, where both traditional and Western medicine were practiced by renowned experts.

But how could she attract those experts? Would it be money? Though her family was wealthy, they weren't excessively rich, just possessing a lot of assets.

Maybe she could find a talented apprentice?

It seemed like the best approach was to understand the doctors' personal interests and needs so she could target them accordingly. Once she figured out what to do next, Zhen Linqi spoke up:

"Feifei, pick whichever type of medicine you feel suits you best. I'll help you find a mentor or teacher."

"Thank you, Qi Jie, I'll see what works best for me." Lin Feifei was genuinely grateful for Zhen Linqi's care, and the longer she stayed in this family, the happier she felt.

Jia Fuhai gave Zhen Linqi a thumbs-up. No wonder she was a good wife—he hadn't thought of this at all.

"Qi Qi, what about you?" he teased, watching her with a smile.

"I'll just get into a university. Anything's better than a degree from a women's college," Zhen Linqi replied, rolling her eyes. She was more focused on having Jia Fuhai's children.

...

Three months later, at the private clinic.

The clinic was located within a large private estate, where patients lived in individual houses equipped with medical facilities and staffed with nurses and doctors.

In one of the houses...

"Big sister, eat this." Zhen Linna, her face flushed, handed Zhen Linqi a banana while holding her pregnant belly.

Three months ago, they had moved here, where the facilities and medical care were top-notch, with dedicated nurses and doctors on hand.

"You really should rest. Your belly's getting big," Zhen Linqi sighed as she lay on the bed, helpless with her sister's restlessness.

"Qi Jie, you should be more careful these next few days. I think the baby might be coming soon." Lin Feifei, wearing a white coat, walked in with concern.

She had become an apprentice under a famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioner at the clinic, staying close to Zhen Linqi whenever she could.

"Don't worry. There are so many people watching over me, so there's nothing to be concerned about." Zhen Linqi smiled with the radiance of motherhood.

In the kitchen, Jia Fuhai was cooking. Despite not studying cooking as much lately, his skills had improved immensely over the last few months. His cooking was now more than good enough to open his own restaurant.

"Nice job, Xiao Hai. You've really got a talent for cooking," Chen Lina said, tasting the dish with a squint of approval.

"I'll take it down to Qi Jie and Nana." Zhen Fuguo quickly grabbed the food and headed downstairs.

Now, their family had all moved into this private estate. The ground floor of the house was dedicated to the pregnant women's rest area, while the second floor was for family members, with its own kitchen.

As Zhen Fuguo was hurrying downstairs, he ran into Lin Feifei, but didn't say anything. He simply admired his happy daughters before moving on.

In the bedroom, Zhen Fuguo was about to feed Zhen Linqi, but she refused.

"Old man, I can feed myself!" Zhen Linqi said, not used to her father's constant hovering. While she appreciated his concern, she wasn't incapable.

Zhen Fuguo looked a bit flustered. His daughter was about to give birth, and he was more nervous than she was.

"Old man, I want to be fed!" Zhen Linna called out, and as soon as she did, Zhen Fuguo rushed over to feed her.

At that moment, Jia Fuhai and Chen Lina came downstairs with the remaining food. Jia Fuhai quickly took over the task of feeding Zhen Linqi.

Zhen Fuguo, watching his daughter be fed by Jia Fuhai, felt a pang of heartache. His own daughter had rejected his help, but Jia Fuhai had been accepted.

"Old man~" Zhen Linna called out to him again, and Zhen Fuguo snapped back to reality, hurriedly continuing to feed her with a smile.

The nurse who had been standing by couldn't help but feel a bit envious at the sight of this harmonious family dynamic.

Because of the two pregnant women, they had split the room into two beds, even though they usually would have just shared one. With money, you could afford anything, but spending millions for such a lifestyle was indeed extravagant.
