Normally, anyone who saw this string of messages would first think that Rong Yan had wanted her boyfriend to pick her up, but couldn’t get through to him on the phone, so she turned to call her agent, who drove over to pick her up. Then she sent another message to her boyfriend, telling him not to come.

Li Shengxiao set down his phone, looking over the messages ‘Rong Yan’ sent him again. Without hesitation, he called Estelle.

The call was answered quickly; the person on the other end seemed surprised to receive his call, speaking in a stunned yet cautious tone, “Hello, Mr. Li, is there something you need?”

“Is Rong Yan with you?”

“Huh?” Find Rong Yan? Estelle paused, surprised as she said, “Didn’t she tell you she was going to AQ’s celebration party?”

Usually, Rong Yan would inform him of her daily schedule in advance.

Why did he suddenly call to ask about her?

“Didn’t she go?” The only possibility Estelle could think of was that Rong Yan hadn’t attended, so she quickly said, “Mr. Li, please hold on, I will give her a call and ask.”

From her sequence of replies, Li Shengxiao had already confirmed that Rong Yan had definitely not gotten into her car. This meant the second message indeed had something fishy about it, just as he suspected!

“No need.” His well-defined hand gripped the phone tightly, his gaze turning cold with an icy chill that could pierce to the bone, “Have the KT PR department ready and on standby.”

“Did something happen to Rong Yan?” Estelle was genuinely concerned for Rong Yan, her worry coming through as she questioned, forgetting to use formal language with Li Shengxiao.

Li Shengxiao’s lips barely touched as he responded, “I hope nothing has…”

He hoped nothing had happened, but if it had, he wouldn’t mind turning Capital City upside down!

After hanging up on Estelle, he strode quickly towards the elevator while dialing Cui Jiangjing’s number.

Cui Jiangjing answered the call a bit slower than Estelle had, his tone casual and nonchalant, “What’s up? What made you think of calling me? The sun didn’t rise from the west today, did it? You’re not with your darling, so you finally want to come out and have a drink with me?”

“I remember you know the owner of Jinxiu, right?”

“Jinxiu? Which Jinxiu?” Cui Jiangjing’s first thought was a nightclub with that name, but after a moment, he straightened up, “You mean Jinxiu Hotel?”

“Yes, it’s my mother’s sister’s place, my aunt. What’s wrong?”

Li Shengxiao’s thin lips turned a pale crimson, his dark eagle eyes bottomless, and he uttered, “Tell her to check. Check which room Rong Yan is in, immediately! Tell her, whether she has to break down the door or pry open a window, she must find the person in that room right now!”

As soon as Cui Jiangjing heard his words, he realized something serious had happened, and he shot up from his seat, his expression turning grave, “What’s going on?”

“You don’t need to know, because I don’t know either!” Li Shengxiao took a deep breath, suppressing the intense trembling he felt at his core, “Also, have her gather the security team and block every exit. No one is to leave the hotel even a step before I get there! Understood?”
