Chapter 202: Conclusion III
Conclusion III
'SHIT!' Vazar cursed from within the head of the giant serpent.
He hadn't expected Constella to get taken out so quickly, and with her out of the equation, their chances dwindled significantly.
His gaze shifted which translated to the slitted pupils of the serpent shifting to see Jenny who still stood back with her arms folded, seeming content to watch her beasts get manhandled.
'Just what is she planning?' Vazar thought, not bothering to hide his frustration. He felt like the only competent person right now.
He growled which was released as a hiss by the serpent as it opened its jaw and bit down, but not at Christopher as he was still a considerable distance away, currently throwing the blue dragon into the blue mist to smash into whatever resided within.
As it bit down, space cracked and the cracks became tinged with a grey light as corruption seeped into the space itself and spread out rapidly, causing space to destabilize at an alarming rate.
Yet somehow, this destabilization was controlled in a way that caused it to target only Christopher. Moreover, it wasn't as simple as space just shattering either as the corruption sought to erode everything in its path. It was an insidious attack that had few methods to defend against.
One Christopher simply waved away.
He merely waved his hand and Soace was stabilized while the corruption was purged as if it was never there to begin with.
Christopher then turned his gaze to the serpent, causing Vazar and everyone within it to shudder.
He stretched his hand toward it and as if grasped by an invisible hand, the serpent was lifted by its neck.
It hissed and opened its jaws once more, spewing forth a cloud of corrupted poison from its fangs.
To this, Christopher just stretched his other hand and all the poison was pulled towards it. It then condensed into a tiny marble which he promptly disintegrated.
A beam of blue fire shot at his back, but it didn't even reach him as it stopped a few meters away as if hitting some invisible barrier.
Then a blue film of light surrounded Christopher and tried to crush him, but the moment it made contact with his body, it shattered like glass.
"Hm, surely you guys can do better than this." Christopher murmured, yet everyone heard him clearly. The disappointment in his voice was obvious.
Vazar grit his teeth. He resisted the urge to curse and tried to make use of another ability, but Christopher seemed like he was tired of the snake, so he closed his hand which was keeping it in place. The instant he did so, the construct let out a horrific screech as countless cracks covered its body before it ultimately shattered, causing everyone who made it up to fall to the ground.
Most of them lost consciousness on the spot, but a few managed to keep their wits about them, Vazar being among these few.
He stopped himself from hitting the ground just in time to see a massive spear of black fire descending on him.
His senses screamed and he put his hands up. His Mana moved swiftly and created a barrier that looked like it had multiple faces.
The spear crashed into the barrier, its tip instantly beginning to dig through it as Vazar strained to keep the barrier from shattering.
He roared as he shifted his focus from blocking to deflecting it, something he had far more success in as he just barely managed to shift the energy of the barrier to deflect the spear go the side, causing it to hit the ground next to him.
It exploded on impact and the force threw him away. Moreover, the flames weren't normal by any means as he felt as though he'd been hit with a wave of nothingness that threatened to erase him on the spot.
'Void energy?' He grunted as he resisted most of the force with his right arm, causing it to get almost completely shredded.
'Hm.' Christopher rubbed his chin as he turned his attention to Jenny who was simply staring at him with cold eyes. Unlike Vazar or Constella, there wasn't an ounce of fear in her eyes, only a cold hatred that seemed to permeate around her.
'Why is she staring at me like I did something?' He raised a brow, but he was more curious than annoyed. Something told him she had some trick up her sleeve.
"Are you two trying to get yourselves killed?" Jenny suddenly spoke, seeming to address the injured Vazar and the unconscious Constella.
"You want to team up but you don't even want to go all put. If you die then whose fault is that then?" She scoffed and snapped her fingers.
Instantly, her beasts stopped assaulting Christopher and returned to her side.
"You asked if that's all we had? Well, I'll give you a fucking show then!" Suddenly, a blue light erupted as all her beasts seemed to turn into streams of energy and began to fuse into her.
At the same time, Christopher noticed a dense energy erupt from Vazar as well.
His mangled arm repaired itself at a stunning rate and he stood straight, a grey bow appearing in his grasp as he narrowed his eyes.
"Finally, someone with some sense." He said as he seemed to undergo some transformation. His skin turned grey, almost like that of a rock, and several cracks appeared on it releasing an ominous grey light.
Moreover, a pair of grey horns, a darker shade than the one of his skin, grew on his head and his hair grew longer. The more his transformation progressed, the denser his Aura became.
Christopher cracked a smile behind his mask. By now, Jenny had finished what she was doing, and now she had changed as well.
Her height had increased considerably, she now stood at 2.5 meters, her skin now covered in dark blue scales with a shell on her back. Her fingers ended in fingernails as long as knives and there was a blue mist covering her lower body. Flames were coming out of the corners of her mouth and her pupils had turned into suits. She looked quite monstrous, but also strangely graceful. Moreover, her Aura had spiked, nearly dwarfing that of Vazar.
However, the most notable one was Constelka, Christopher's gaze shifted to the girl who had gotten up. Her eyes seemed unfocused as blood dripped down her head, her arms hanging limply by her sides, she didn't look like she was about to continue fighting, but her Aura suggested otherwise.
She hadn't undergone any transformation, yet somehow her Aura easily matched what the other two were releasing, and even a bit more.
Slowly, she looked up. Her eyes gradually regained some clarity, and that clarity turned to resolve.
She was scared. Every time she recalled that Aura, her mind always turned back to that memory, the memory of the most powerful people in their clan being reduced to nothing but worms groveling at the feet of an entity far more powerful than them, herself included.
As she looked at this being, she had the feeling that they were even beyond that. That no matter what she did, she'd have no hope of winning, that losing was the only possible path.
But so what?
She was tired of being terrified, of wanting to run away. She was tired of always doubting. She hated how her subordinates saw her as powerful, but the instant she felt authority, she seemed to cower in the face of it.
Her hand moved to her head and she cleaned some of the blood off it and looked at it. Her blood which looked like condensed cosmic gases coated her gauntlet.
'No more freezing up. No more terror.' She slowly clenched her fist and stared up at Christopher, her eyes filling with determination as she entered a stance and roared, her Aura instantly exploding outwards like a tide.
Jenny saw this and scoffed before mumbling.
"Close enough. Welcome back Star Girl." She mumbled and brandished her claws.
Vazar just snorted grabbed the string of his bow and started to pull it back. As he did so, a grey arrow began to materialize, the dense energy of corruption running rampant in its wake.
Christopher watched all of this and the smile behind his mask grew.
'Maybe things won't be so disappointing after all.' He thought as he gradually floated to the ground.
When he did, he looked at the three of them and chuckled.
"Alright then, seems like you guys have found your spines." As he said this, he put away his jacket so that only his inner shirt was visible. Moreover, he lessened the effects of his mask, now he could actually be observed, but nothing more than that.
He cracked his knuckles as he briefly looked at the army that was fighting against Prism. He told her not to kill anyone, but she was still manhandling them. So that shouldn't be an issue.
He turned his attention back to the three Scions and spread his arms out.
"Alright, let's start round two." With that, the intensity of the battle spiked exponentially.
