[Multiverse] The Reincarnated One's Journey Across Multiverse

Chapter 14: Pope Bibi Dong

Yuki finished his quick breakfast at the cafeteria, ran through some morning exercises, and freshened up. The clock ticked closer to 8 a.m.

"It's time," Yuki muttered, adjusting his uniform in front of the mirror. His reflection stared back, showing a young man trying to maintain composure. "First impressions matter," he reminded himself, exhaling deeply.

When Yuki arrived at the academy gates, his eyes widened. A grand, ornate carriage awaited him. The red-haired man from before, Su Chen, peeked through the curtain.

"You're here. Get in," Su Chen said, his voice steady and calm.

Yuki stepped into the luxurious carriage, his excitement bubbling beneath his calm demeanor. The interior smelled of polished wood, and a fur-covered seat offered comfort. A table in the middle held a pot of wine and fine glasses.

"Ever ridden in something like this before?" Su Chen asked, pouring himself a glass of wine.

"No," Yuki replied, shaking his head.

Su Chen chuckled. "It shows." He gestured toward the wine. "Want some?"

Yuki declined politely. "I don't drink."

Su Chen shrugged and took a sip. "Suit yourself." Placing his glass down, his tone grew serious. "Before we arrive at the Pope's Palace, listen carefully. When you meet Her Holiness, Bibi Dong, do exactly as I do. Keep your head down unless instructed otherwise. Don't speak unless spoken to. And remember, always kneel until you're permitted to rise."

Yuki nodded, absorbing every word.

Minutes later, the carriage stopped. Su Chen gestured for Yuki to follow as they stepped outside.

Before them loomed the grand Pope's Palace, a masterpiece of architecture. Its towering stone pillars, intricate carvings, and golden accents exuded majesty. Soldiers stood guard, their polished armor gleaming under the sunlight.

"This is it," Yuki whispered in awe.

"Keep moving," Su Chen instructed, leading him up the grand staircase and into the palace.

Inside, the opulence only grew. The halls stretched endlessly, adorned with tapestries, golden fixtures, and a regal aura. After several turns, they arrived at a massive bronze door guarded by two soldiers clad in distinctive armor.

Su Chen handed over his badge, speaking briefly to the guards. After a brief inspection, the doors creaked open, revealing the grand chamber of the Pope's Palace.

"Follow my lead," Su Chen instructed, stepping into the vast hall.

At the far end, seated on an intricately carved throne, was Bibi Dong. Her presence dominated the room. She wore a flowing black robe with golden embroidery, a purple-gold crown atop her head. In her hand, she held a scepter that shimmered with jewels. Her flawless, commanding visage was framed by her dark, cascading hair.

Su Chen knelt, his voice firm yet reverent. "Su Chen, Dean of the Spirit Hall Junior Academy, pays respects to Her Holiness, the Pope."

Yuki immediately dropped to one knee beside him, bowing his head. "Yuki, champion of the Spirit Hall Junior Academy Tournament, pays respects to Her Holiness, the Pope."

A pause filled the chamber, then Bibi Dong's voice rang out, soft yet powerful. "Rise."

Yuki lifted his head, meeting her gaze. Her piercing eyes examined him, as if peering into his very soul.

"So, you are the champion," Bibi Dong said, her voice measured.

"Yes, Your Holiness," Yuki responded, his tone steady, betraying no fear.

Her lips curled into a faint smile. "Interesting. You are remarkably composed for someone in my presence."

Yuki remained silent, though his heart raced.

"Summon your spirit," she commanded.

Yuki raised his hands, and his **Demon God Twin Pistols** materialized in a swirl of black and crimson energy. The intricate designs on the guns glowed faintly, exuding an ominous yet captivating aura.

Bibi Dong leaned forward slightly, her interest piqued. "A rare martial spirit," she remarked, her tone tinged with curiosity. "What do you call it?"

"The Demon God Twin Pistols," Yuki answered.

She nodded, her gaze lingering on the weapons. Then, she turned her attention to Su Chen. "You may leave. I will evaluate him further on my own."

Su Chen hesitated, momentarily stunned by the unusual request. Normally, his role ended with a brief introduction, yet today, the Pope herself was taking a deeper interest.

"Yes, Your Holiness," Su Chen said, bowing before leaving the hall.

As the grand doors closed behind him, Yuki stood alone before Bibi Dong. The weight of her gaze pressed on him, but he remained steadfast, determined to prove himself worthy of her notice.
