[Multiverse] The Reincarnated One's Journey Across Multiverse

Chapter 12: Competition (3)

The three fighters facing Hua Jiaojiao wore grim expressions. After watching their comrades admit defeat, one of them turned to the others and said, "If we don't work together, we're done for. Let's team up, take them down, and then settle things between us."

The other two exchanged glances and nodded in agreement.

They summoned their Spirit Weapons—a gleaming longsword, a deadly spear, and an unusual turtle spirit.

Yuki stood at a distance, his expression calm. He dismissed his Demon God Dual Guns and crossed his arms, watching the scene unfold with a faint smirk.

Hua Jiaojiao rolled her eyes impatiently. "Are you three done strategizing? Let's fight already!"

Her taunt seemed to light a fire under the trio, and they launched their assault. The spear-wielder took the lead, thrusting his weapon forward with a soul-powered strike. The others followed, their own abilities aimed directly at Hua Jiaojiao.

"Finally." Hua Jiaojiao sighed, placing a finger to her lips. In an instant, a small leaf materialized before her.

The attackers dismissed it as trivial and charged ahead. But Yuki's sharp eyes narrowed. "That leaf… is that her Spirit Weapon? How strong could it be?" he wondered.

"Leaf Blade!" Hua Jiaojiao's voice rang out as more leaves began to manifest around the attackers. Before they could react, a yellow Soul Ring lit up behind her, infusing her ability with power.

The once-soft leaves shimmered with a metallic sheen. With a snap of her fingers, Hua Jiaojiao sent the leaves spinning.

The attackers faltered. The blade-like leaves whirled faster, drawing blood whenever they made contact. The sword and spear users retreated instinctively, huddling back-to-back in fear, their weapons at the ready.

The turtle spirit user, protected by his hardened shell, charged ahead. His Spinning Shell Technique turned him into a high-speed projectile aimed at Hua Jiaojiao.

She didn't flinch. With a wave of her hand, a wall of leaves formed between her and the incoming shell.

Clang!

The collision produced a metallic screech and sparks. The turtle spirit's momentum faltered, and it toppled to the ground, dispelling his technique and revealing the exhausted fighter.

The other two attackers didn't fare much better. The spinning leaves left them covered in shallow cuts, their clothes tattered like beggars'. They stumbled backward in defeat as a white-robed attendant escorted them off the platform.

Yuki stepped forward, his tone calm but firm. "Take three minutes to rest. I don't fight weakened opponents, especially women." He closed his eyes, standing motionless, completely unbothered by the chance of a sneak attack.

Hua Jiaojiao eyed him curiously but took the opportunity to sit cross-legged and recover her spiritual energy.

Exactly three minutes later, Yuki's eyes snapped open. With a fluid motion, he summoned his Demon God Dual Guns. "Time's up. Let's begin."

Hua Jiaojiao rose to her feet, her pale complexion betraying her exhaustion. She waved her hand, summoning more leaves that floated in a slow, defensive orbit around her.

"Let's do this!" she shouted, her yellow Soul Ring glowing brightly. "Leaf Blade!"

Yuki wasted no time. "Enchantment: Explosion!" he called out, firing a volley of enchanted bullets.

The bullets tore through the first wave of leaves, detonating upon impact. But more leaves quickly filled the gaps, their overwhelming numbers making it nearly impossible to break through.

"Damn, this is going to take more than brute force," Yuki muttered under his breath. He dashed to the side, rolling to avoid the advancing torrent of razor-sharp leaves. As he regained his footing, he fired off several shots at Hua Jiaojiao, but each was intercepted by her protective barrier of leaves.

"You think you can win with that?" Hua Jiaojiao smirked, her voice laced with defiance. She gestured again, and a fresh wave of leaves materialized, their metallic edges gleaming ominously as they hurtled toward Yuki.

Dodging swiftly, Yuki cursed under his breath. Behind him, the torrent of leaves curved mid-air, chasing him relentlessly.

"You're running out of energy!" Yuki called out, his voice cutting through the chaos. "Keep this up, and you'll lose!"

Hua Jiaojiao's expression tightened. Her leaves wavered slightly, but she gritted her teeth and waved her hand again, summoning more blades.

Seizing the moment, Yuki fired two consecutive explosive rounds. The blasts were partially absorbed by her defenses, but the force blew back her hair and left her visibly shaken.

Hua Jiaojiao steadied herself, her pale face determined. She raised her arms dramatically. "Final Strike!" she cried.

The swirling leaves behind Yuki morphed into long, sharp swords and darted toward him with blinding speed.

Yuki didn't hesitate. He sprinted forward, dodging instinctively while firing behind him. His bullets shattered many of the flying swords, scattering the remnants like autumn leaves.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" His movements were fluid, each shot precise. As he closed the gap, Hua Jiaojiao's breathing grew ragged.

"This ends now," Yuki declared, vaulting over a final wave of blades. His guns were aimed directly at her as he descended.

Hua Jiaojiao's leaves faltered, their glow dimming. She raised a trembling hand to block, but her spirit energy had run dry.

The clash came to a halt as Yuki landed, his guns just inches from her. "You're out of power. Admit defeat."

Breathing heavily, Hua Jiaojiao smiled wryly. "Fine. You win."

The crowd erupted into cheers as Yuki lowered his weapons.
