Morax the Geo Archon: Billionaire in the Chat Group

Chapter 35: I, the Geo Archon Morax with 2.1 Billion Mora, Have Joined a Chat Group [35]

Explosions thundered overhead, one after another, like the sky collapsing and the earth shattering. The fiery flashes of light and deafening roars combined with thick smoke and waves of heat, engulfing everything in their path.

Yet, to the astonishment of the superhuman youths gathered in the park, the towering golden pillar remained unscathed.

The thin golden radiance enveloping them acted as an inviolable shield, rendering the fires, smoke, and searing heat from the explosions as if they belonged to another reality. Within this golden world, no harm could touch them.

The glow of the golden light continued to flow gently, undisturbed.

Beneath its radiance, Zhongli didn't even glance upward. Instead, he examined the Feather of Warding Dust in his hand with mild curiosity.

When he had first used the feather, he felt the intricate power it contained—a force deeply intertwined with the world's fundamental layers. Yet, in this world, it seemed unable to fully manifest.

Perhaps in the realm of Cloud Retainer, it would unleash its complete potential. I should test it when I return there, he thought to himself.

He gave the feather a light tug, and a translucent soul emerged from Hegang's body, floating gently in the air.

"Hegang, please share with us everything you know."

The history of this world seemed like a cruel joke played by the gods.

While the nations of the world were developing their industries, an inexplicable phenomenon struck human civilization.

It began in the year 19XX.

The first Enemy of Humanity emerged.

But the true form of the "Enemy of Humanity" was not an alien or a creature from another realm—it was a human being who had awakened extraordinary powers.

Afterward, more and more children with abilities akin to magic began appearing worldwide.

For these individuals, human laws and ethical norms held no sway.

In the ensuing war between ordinary humans and superhumans, humanity emerged victorious.

Over the next century, societal attitudes and government policies shifted. Nations began openly acknowledging the existence of superhumans, conscripting them into training facilities and isolating them in institutions called schools.

The superhumans were told they were training to combat monsters known as the Enemies of Humanity, and most citizens wholeheartedly believed this narrative.

However, the true stories of what transpired during that century were known to only a select few.

Ten years after the first Enemy of Humanity and the initial war between humans and superhumans, a second Enemy of Humanity appeared.

This second individual was stronger and more terrifying than the first.

As humanity's weapons and technology advanced, so too did the power of these "Enemies."

During this era, society was gripped by fear of superhumans. All superhumans were hunted down. If one was discovered—even a newborn with no memories or actions to its name—it would be killed.

In this climate of terror, one superhuman managed to survive, hidden by parents who taught him to avoid detection. In the less advanced surveillance systems of that time, such cases, though rare, were not unheard of.

After all, protecting one's child is a fundamental human instinct.

This young man grew up, attended university, and pursued a doctorate, driven by a desire to understand his abilities.

But somehow, his research assistant discovered his powers and reported him to the nation's Committee.

His parents were executed, and he was captured. His girlfriend, pregnant with their child, was also brutally killed.

In his grief and rage, he became the second Enemy of Humanity.

In just half a month, he annihilated the entire country that had condemned him.

Even at the end, humanity could not defeat him—he destroyed himself only after reducing his homeland to ashes.

The third Enemy of Humanity appeared just two years later. Like the second, he rose from similar circumstances and left similar devastation in his wake, destroying millions of lives and multiple nations.

Faced with such tragedies, the Committee finally took the issue seriously.

They eased the persecution of superhumans, and for a time, peace returned.

For two decades, no new Enemy of Humanity emerged. During this fragile era of peace, society began to believe that a harmonious relationship with superhumans was possible.

Then, the fourth Enemy of Humanity appeared.

Born to the bloodline of an superhuman exterminated during the second uprising, he harbored an innate hatred for humanity. Through his abilities and cunning, he infiltrated the government and became a member of a nation's Committee.

The consequences of his actions were so catastrophic that much of the evidence has been erased.

Afterward, all global Committees united to fabricate a false history, maintaining it up to the present day.

The fifth, and supposedly final, Enemy of Humanity emerged fifty years ago.

This individual taught the Committee a critical lesson: the power of an superhuman is not determined by their age, physical strength, or stamina—it is tied directly to their knowledge and the crises they face.

In response, the world adopted the Degradation Education Model.

Coupled with advances in surveillance systems, healthcare monitoring, and propaganda praising superhumans as defenders of humanity, this ensured that no new Enemy of Humanity would rise in the next fifty years.

Instead, countless superhuman youths died battling the supposed "Enemies" fabricated by the system.

These youths, naive and uneducated, lacked the intellectual grounding to develop their abilities or face real dangers effectively.

The balance of power between humans and superhumans tipped entirely in favor of the former.

Today, each nation's Committee follows the same simple procedure:

During routine health examinations, they identify superhumans and transfer them to isolated facilities. Gradually, and ideally without the superhumans realizing it, they eliminate them.

This approach is straightforward. Even if mistakes occur, poorly trained superhuman youths cannot pose a significant threat to the increasingly advanced military forces.

But over time, the Committees' power grew unchecked, and their motivations began to warp.

What started as a conflict between two groups—ordinary humans and superhumans—morphed into a perverse celebration of cruelty.
