Chapter 20: Adventure Association
Anonymous informed his party that he needed to do some business at the town's adventurer association and left them to level up by themselves, clearing up small crabs shouldn't be an issue for them.
Yone's mind was wandering to different places as he traveled back to the town at full speed, he needed to set up a plan of how to improve not only items and level but also how to raise funds for his plans after level 10.
'Let us first see what I have in my bag, maybe to sell afterward.' With a few clicks, Yone opened his full panel, which he hadn't checked for a while.

The Adventurer Association was only discovered one hour after players started flooding the game. Why was that? It was only because the plot of land it occupied was on the outskirts of the town, on the other side of the forest, so players never considered going there initially.
It felt like an abandoned building instead of the Adventurer Association that usually sat at the top of the game pyramid. But the players knew the only reason it looked in such a state was that it was inside the spawn town, and in the city, things would be on another scale altogether.
Inside the building, old wooden tables numbering a dozen were scattered around the big building, scattered parchment maps filled the counter and a receptionist could be seen dealing with two annoying players. Next to the counter, there was a giant mission board with a couple of level 1 quests pinned.
After finding the Adventurer Association, almost all players lost interest and went back to grinding. The quests were almost non-existent, and only a few of the most useless and easiest would drop from time to time. If not for the fact that such quests were pretty useful for level 1 players, the building would have been deserted long ago.
Inside the adventurer association filled with hundreds of level 1 players that just logged in for the first time constantly going in and out waiting for new quests to drop in, Anonymous sat alone in a corner as his fingers tapped on the table. He stared at his friend list for several minutes before he took a deep break and called his big brother.
After a few seconds, Night picked up and the call connected.
"You calling me again? You better not be messing something up already." His brother wore a serious expression, knowing his brother full well, he knew the amount of problems he would bring him and kept a close check on him, going as far as to point their little sister as a guard watch next to him.
Ano wasn't disheartened by his words as he said," I might have given our guild a golden opportunity. It's just that I need your take on it."
"Go on...speak, I'm all ears, little brother," Night began feeling that a problem was suddenly about to drop on his shoulders, but he waited patiently, as it could be something truly beneficial for them.
Ano took a deep breath once again and got to the point," Requiem is a recent acquaintance as you already know, he just offered me information about a hidden system mechanic that affects stat growth. It's not public yet and from what I saw it's truly legit. He's selling it for 50 silver."
There was silence for some time before night responded," Fifty silver? Do you think we are Legends guild or something, you do realize that's a ridiculous amount of money right now, don't you?" His voice was sharp this time, feeling that his brother had indeed messed things up once again.
'Did he already set the deal and signed a contract or some sort of agreement? I truly hope not,' Night was truly getting to the point where he would kick his brother out of any sort of decision-making position.
"I know brother but listen and don't get mad yet, this is truly a game-chancing effect. He even claims that only 3 to 5 people would be able to get such a thing and he already took the agility stat. If we secure the others before anyone finds out, we might truly hit the jackpot here." Ano was truly trying his best to convince his brother, he knew Night better than everyone and his mind would not allow a trade unless it was in his favor or the other party had placed a considerable price for it equal to theirs.
'I can't let this deal slide away, if I secure Yone as a future partner or maybe a guild core member I can gain my sibling's trust and parents, this is my only chance,' Ano felt his heart race as he anxiously awaited his brother's response.
"We get a long-term stat advantage..." Night muttered.
"That's right, it's not just for us. If White Wings secures the information, we can sell it to an even absurd higher price with our connections or even use it ourselves for our top players," Ano's fists were clenched tightly, his fingers slightly trembling and his eyelid shaking.
Night went quiet for a moment, considering his brother's words.
"It's a good find indeed...but 50 silver? That's insane this early and we can't come up with such an amount till more than a day later, I'm not handing you that much. If you are confident about his words, offer him real money instead."
"Real money?" Ano rolled his eyes inwardly,' Just say that you won't dare give such an amount of money fearful of losing your ground on Eclipse Online so early on and our father getting angry at you.'
"Silver in the current stage of the game is too valuable for grinding, item purchase, and many other resources. Cash is easier to throw and won't affect our development. Offer him 400 dollars instead, if he is smart, he'll take it."
"And if he refuses?" Ano asked.
"Then negotiate. Don't let him walk away with that information without us securing it first. If he is after silver, lower the price. If he wants cash, make it reasonable. Either way we are getting this information understood?" Night's tone was sharp as he ordered, he left no room for debate.
"...Understood..."
He ended the call and leaned against the chair as he slowly exhaled,' Will Yone accept 400 dollars?'
Well, there is only one way to find out.
