MMORPG: Rebirth Of The Strongest Assassin

Chapter 2: Eclipse Online

The weight of reincarnation didn't sink in immediately. Yone kept shaking his head, trying to reject the impossible truth. He even went out of his way to fill the bath with cold water and place his head inside.

Date: 7th March 2177

Noticing that the date didn't change, Yone placed his head back inside the cold water as he wished that he would go back to reality.

I promise god that I'll take care of my parents from here on and find a real job, never to risk anything and be a servant to them till my death. I promise I won't waste my time as a talentless useless human being on games where my brother who came one year after me went above me in ranks in a matter of two years.'

He truly wished what he saw on the phone and inside his room was true, and he did indeed reincarnate, but it was too hard for that to happen suddenly.

He pulled his head out a second time. A third. But nothing changed. This wasn't working. He needed to feel something, anything, to prove this wasn't a dream.

Date: 7th March 2177

"Same date, there is no running away from the truth, this isn't a dream but reality," Tears flowed down Yone's eyes into his cheeks into the floor as he wept over the life he wasted.

After Eclipse Online was released, he quit his 9-to-5 job and played it full time, counting on making it big inside. With his savings, he didn't have to worry about regular income for a few months.

Yet, his dreams were crushed in that timeline, and he discovered how truly insignificant his talent was. His younger brother had always beat him in games, but those were bad designed VR games!

He thought he would surely join one of the famous games, make it to the top, cure his parents' several illnesses due to old age, and improve their lifestyle. However, he had even made things worse for them by putting them in more debt and having several problems with shark loans.

If Shen hadn't joined the game and climbed to a lower elder rank in just two years, earning a fortune, curing his parents, paying off all their debts, and solving all their financial problems, their family's fate would have been sealed.

"Still, I failed as the supposed househead after my father, I failed as a son, and a big brother, I failed as a human being who was useless and pathetic chasing after wishful dreams without concern for anyone around me"

Yone cried and cried, and after five minutes, tears seemed to dry from his eyes as he wiped his face and washed it several times." All of that won't happen again. I'm now armed with knowledge of the future and a lot of things inside the game."

"From dungeon tactics, to rare items that could elevate one's strength to a terrifying level by just equipping them, to quests that could elevate guilds to the first-tier rank by merely finishing them!"

Yone clenched his fists, his breath steadying," Enough crying, I won't be the same useless son and big brother as before, I won't fail as before. I'll show my family, and myself that I'm worth it and can do things the right way, that I can become the head of the household!"

Yone immediately went to his pocket, took a hundred dollars, and then went to the shop next door. He then used all his money to buy two boxes of instant noodles, placing them under his desk in his rented house. They were enough to last him for over seven days, which was enough time for him to earn some money and get an insane head start.

But planning was one thing, execution was another. He needed to act fast, and the first step was securing the headset.

Arriving at his house, he placed the two boxes inside the kitchen and reached out to his phone as he made a phone call.

"Hello, sir. This is Eclipse Online's official store. Is there anything we can help you with?" A woman's voice sounded on the other side.

"Yes, I would like to order a headset for Eclipse Online," Yone asked confidently.

"Sure, just give me the address and ID number, and it will be at your house in minutes."

Yone did as told but didn't wait idly at his house.

He had no money to buy the headset to begin with!

Although the game was available for anyone who had an ID and was over 18, with 97% of adults playing it daily, the price for the headset was out of his reach right now.

He was but a regular gatekeeper in a three-star hotel, and his monthly pay could barely meet ends as he took care of both himself and some of his parents' needs. In fact, if not for their retirement money, Yone wouldn't be surprised if the whole family went out to beg on the street and lost the house.

Bip! Bip! Bip!

Yone dialed a number down and called his best friend, Ismail.

He had also had to do this before and borrow some money from his friend, which was embarrassing given the amount he needed. However, Ismail never let him down and didn't even shame him about it; he just gave it outright without any questions.

In a few seconds, Ismail picked up his phone, and his voice sounded on the other end:" Yo, bro, what's up on your end? We're getting ready for Eclipse Online, aren't we?"

"Ehm..." Yone cleared his throat before speaking.

Even though he'd done this before, his pride made it difficult to ask for money. But this time, he had no choice. He clenched his jaw and made the call.

It's not like he will be making the same mistakes anyway; this time around, he will pay him back tenfold!

"Hello there, Isma. To be fair with you, I need something, so I won't beat around the bush." He went directly to the point: This was his best friend, and he didn't need to smooth things up before asking for something.

"Haha, we're brothers mate. Just check the door in a second." Isma laughed on the other side, seemingly expecting such a thing to begin with.

"Hmm?" Yone was puzzled. He was about to ask for the ten thousand dollars when his doorbell rang."It must be my order. It's rather fast, though."

"Is this, Sir Yone Nibro?" a two-meter-tall white robot holding a large box asked politely.

"Yes it is," He replied, not sure what's going on here.

He had no such background nor money to hire a robot as delivery, and this event surely didn't occur in his past life!

"Please ID and sign here, " the robot said, pointing at the end of the paper pinned to the box.

Yone did as told hesitantly.

"Perfect. This is a delivery from Ismail Henry. Enjoy your time, sir." The robot said nothing more. It set the box down, turned, and left.

"Haha, it's just a bit of money for me, so don't feel pressured Yony, you know who my father is after all," The sound of laughter came from the phone as he didn't give Yone the chance to nag about him doing such a thing again before he hung up.

"You idiot, it's because I know who your father is that I keep telling you not to spend the little money you have randomly!" Yone yelled inwardly as he took in the box containing the helmet and went inside, a smile attached to his face.

"Still, thank you again, Isma." Yone exhaled, gripping the box tightly. He has seven days to gain the head start of a lifetime. Failure is not an option!
