"For a reward for player 'Requiem' to be the first to enter a dungeon before level 5, he will be provided with some basic info about dungeons."
"There are currently no dungeons for players to enter and clear them, but they will all show up throughout the various kingdoms and continents once the first player hits level 5 in their respective kingdom."
Yone narrowed his eyes at the system message. He obviously knew about this, but he hadn't expected the assassin's hideout to be a dungeon. The guy in the interview never mentioned such a detail.' Aren't there supposed to be no dungeons yet? How does this one exist before level 5, then?'
He had many questions, but he still stopped the urge to look for information he couldn't access right now and went in. The tunnel could barely fit an adult man, and he had to bow his head in order to move, which was quite tiring.
After enduring the small tunnel that threatened to snap his neck, Yone finally stepped into a wider chamber. A dimly lit reading room with one bed, one overturned table, and a chair with a chained person sitting on it, his face bruised and clothes tattered with holes all over his body oozing out blood and yellowish liquid.
The air was thick with the scent of dried blood, and a single candle flickered right on top of the bed, adding even more stress to Yone, given the eerie silence and chilling feeling.
'If I wasn't used to such a scene, I would have vomited, even though we can't vomit inside the game,' He was disgusted by the sight but still didn't immediately rush to help the person, he first identified him with the basic identification skill everyone had.
Name: Alien Han
Title: Guard in Crystalized Stone Town
tier: 0
Breathing a sigh of relief, Yone darted his eyes around the room, just in case any traps were out of place and he could easily spot them. But even after several checks and minutes of continued searching, he found none.
'I don't like this situation.' Yone felt like his advantage of knowing the future was gone at this moment. It was like he was walking on thin ice in a deep ocean, and if he made a mistake, the ice would shatter, and he would freeze inside the sea.
Dying was of utmost severity in Eclipse Online since one death equals a whole level, and knowing this hideout is supposedly harboring several assassins of around level 4 to 6, he was treading with utmost caution, his senses on high alert.
Placing the five free attributes he just received after leveling up into agility, he went into stealth and slowly approached the man.
Agility was by far the most important attribute for assassins since it gave both attack speed and movement speed, but what a lot of people failed to realize at the launch of Eclipse Online and only triggered by chance after a whole day was the system rewards.
If you are the first person to place three continuous five attributes in the same stat, you gain the passive of the respective stat you focused on. For agility, the passive stat was a bonus for stealth, adding 10% attack speed.
This looked trivial at first and people laughed at the assassin who shared the information with a raised face and high spirits, only to feel its real power after he was at level 50 onwards, where just an increase of 2% meant the world.
Fortunately, no trap triggered and Yone safely got close to one meter of the guard, his senses were still sharp but his eyes relaxed a bit as he focused on the half dead half alive person before him.
"Adventurer...Adventurer, you mustn't let them clear the dungeon and obtain the treasure inside. Take the lead before they come back from their hunt of the surrounding guards." As soon as he finished speaking, a system notification appeared before Yone's eyes.
Ding! Alter Ego chain quest triggered ( 1/????). Player is tasked with clearing the dungeon before the arrival of the assassins, who threaten the town's civilians and the city's reputation.
Rewards:???
Punishment: Losing one level.
Note: Player 'Requiem' isn't tasked with completing this specific quest request. Refusal and reporting the assassins' hideout to the Mayor are good enough for the quest to be accomplished and your rewards to be given.
"Now I understand, that guy did the quest a bit late into the game and found the assassins in their hideouts, but since I arrived early, a new chain quest have opened and it triggered the real value of what a unique quest is," Realization dawned on Yone as he instantly accepted with a wave of his hand and a touch of his finger.
