Chapter 4: Chapter 4:Hero Saving Beauty Plan!
"THE EXAMS BEGIN!" Present Mic's voice boomed, startling the participants as the enormous doors creaked open, revealing a sprawling fake city that had been meticulously designed to simulate a real-life urban scenario.
Mineta didn't waste a second. While the other students hesitated, caught off guard by the sudden start, Mineta was already sprinting through the gates.
"Why are you all just standing there?" Present Mic's voice echoed through the air. "A hero doesn't wait for a countdown to save lives!"
The sharp reminder jolted the participants into action. Students scrambled, some sprinting clumsily while others rushed with focused determination.
Mineta smirked to himself, glancing back at the chaos. 'Its a good thing i remember this scene from the original work.'
As he darted further into the city, Mineta's eyes caught sight of two one-pointers rolling toward him. Their mechanical frames gleamed under the simulated sunlight, their arms poised to attack.
'They look way scarier in person,' he thought, his heart pounding. But then his mind drifted to Ochaco, her curvy figure in those tight black stockings. The thought sent a surge of determination through him.
'I have to pass this exam. I will pass. I want to DESTROY MY V-CARD!'
Kicking off his already loosened shoes, Mineta grabbed two sticky purple balls from his head. The robots' metallic fists swung toward him, but he sidestepped just in time, his bare feet slapping against the concrete.
"Time to put my quirk to work!" he muttered, hurling the balls at the ground in front of him. As they stuck to the ground , Mineta leaped onto one, the force propelling him high into the air.
The robots' cameras tracked him, but their bulky forms couldn't react fast enough. While airborne, Mineta grabbed four more sticky balls and hurled them with precision. Each ball stuck firmly to the robots' arms, pinning them to the ground as they struggled futilely.
"Gotcha!" Mineta landed on one of the robots' backs, his feet gripping the metal. His eyes scanned quickly until he spotted the deactivation switch near its base. With a swift press, the machine whirred to a halt. The second robot, connected by his sticky balls, also powered down as Mineta hurled a sticky ball at its switch.
"Two points," he muttered under his breath, adrenaline coursing through his veins. Wasting no time, he sprinted further into the city, keeping his eyes peeled for more targets.
The exam floor was alive with activity. Explosions echoed as participants unleashed their quirks, dismantling the robots and racking up points. Mineta, meanwhile, used his strategy and agility to his advantage.
By the seven-minute mark, Mineta had Trapped and deactivated 30 robots. His total stood at 26 villain points, comprising 16 one-pointers and 4 two-pointers.
Breathing heavily, he wiped sweat from his brow. "Not bad," he muttered, a small smirk playing on his lips. "But I can't stop here. There's more to this exam than just villain points."
Mineta recalled the hidden rescue points from his knowledge of the original story. 'If I want to secure my spot, I need to start helping people. And who knows? My plan for saving Ochaco can also start.' he thought, a dark grin creeping onto his face before he quickly composed himself.
Spotting a participant cornered by a three-pointer, Mineta darted into action. "Move!" he shouted, hurling a sticky ball at the robot's leg. The massive machine stumbled, its balance compromised, giving the participant time to escape as Mineta hit the deactivation button.
"Thank you!" the student yelled, their voice trembling with relief.
Mineta waved dismissively, his eyes scanning for more opportunities. In another corner of the city, he found two students trapped under the wreckage of three destroyed robots.
"Hold on!" he called, rushing over. Using his sticky balls strategically, he secured parts of the debris to keep them from shifting further before helping pull the students out.
"You saved us!" one of them gasped, their face pale with gratitude.
Mineta gave a casual shrug. "Just doing what heroes do."
As he ran back into the fray, he glanced at his watch. 'Still a few minutes left. Time to rack up more points and find Ochaco.'
There were only two minutes left before the practical exams concluded. Mineta stood on a deserted street, panting heavily, his small frame trembling from the exertion. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as he massaged his scalp, his fingers tenderly probing the sensitive spots where he had pulled out ball after ball from his head.
"Fifty points," he muttered under his breath, a faint smirk forming on his lips. "Not bad. Not bad at all."
Despite his fatigue, his sharp eyes scanned the surrounding area. The streets were eerily quiet, the chaotic noises of other participants battling robots echoing faintly in the distance.
'I know it's coming,' he thought, glancing at the sky with an anticipatory gleam in his eyes. 'This is the moment I've been waiting for. The giant zero-pointer… and Ochaco trapped under that debris.'
Mineta's heart raced—not with fear, but with excitement. He replayed the scene from the original timeline in his mind, remembering every detail.
'Everyone's going to panic and run like headless chickens when the zero-pointer shows up. Nobody will notice Ochaco stuck under that stone. And then, that green-haired fool, Deku, will make his heroic debut.'
Mineta clenched his fists, his grin widening. He recalled the events of the original work: Deku, with zero points to his name, rushing headfirst toward the towering robot. The boy's quirk, One for All, activating in a moment of desperation and propelling him into the air to deliver a devastating punch that obliterated the zero-pointer.
Mineta scowled at the thought. 'That's when Ochaco starts falling for him. A secret crush, born out of admiration for his bravery and the pain he endured for her by breaking his limbs. How cliché.'
But this time, things would be different.
Mineta adjusted his posture, his grin turning darker behind his mask. 'This time, Deku's not stealing my spotlight. Sure, he can destroy the zero-pointer, but I'll make sure I'm part of the action. And Ochaco…' His eyes gleamed with a mix of determination and perverse delight. 'Ochaco will remember me as her savior. Soon your body will be my plaything, little Uravity'
He took a deep breath, steadying his nerves. He couldn't afford to mess this up. His plan was simple but calculated: let Deku take down the robot while he strategically positioned himself to appear heroic in front of Ochaco. He'd help her out of the debris and "coincidentally" protect her from the falling rubble caused by the destruction.
'I'll be her knight in shining armor,' he thought, suppressing a chuckle. 'Let's see her fall for Deku after that.'
Suddenly, a deep rumbling sound shook the ground, snapping Mineta out of his thoughts.
"It's here," he whispered, his grin returning.
In the distance, the zero-pointer emerged, its massive frame towering over the buildings. The ground quaked with each of its steps, and the air filled with the sound of its mechanical whirring and crunching destruction.
Screams erupted as students fled in every direction, abandoning their efforts to gain more points. The sheer size of the robot was enough to instill terror in even the bravest participants.
'There it is,' Mineta thought, watching the chaos unfold. 'Just like in the original.'
He began jogging toward the center of the commotion, keeping a careful eye on the robot's movements. His gaze darted to the scattered students, searching for the familiar figure of Ochaco.
And then he saw her.
Ochaco was on the ground, struggling to free herself from a large piece of rubble that pinned her legs. Her face was pale, her breaths coming in short gasps as she looked up at the approaching giant robot.
Mineta's heart raced. 'Perfect. Now, where's Deku?'
He scanned the area and spotted the green-haired boy frozen in place, his eyes wide with fear. Lida's reprimands from earlier seemed to have done nothing to steel Deku's nerves. But then, Mineta saw it—the moment Deku's eyes shifted from fear to determination.
'He's going to make his move,' Mineta realized, smirking.
As Deku suddenly bolted toward the zero-pointer, Mineta followed suit, staying a safe distance behind. He watched as Deku's quirk activated, the boy's body glowing with energy as he leapt high into the air.
The zero-pointer's head tilted upward, its sensors locking onto Deku, but it was too late. With a loud roar, Deku's fist connected with the robot's head, shattering it into pieces. The impact sent shockwaves through the air, causing debris to rain down from the sky.
This was Mineta's cue.
"Ochaco!" he shouted, sprinting toward her and making sure she didn't look behind towards Deku.
Ochaco looked up, her eyes wide with a mix of fear and relief. "Mineta?"
"Hang on!" Mineta reached her side just as a large chunk of debris broke off from a nearby building. Without hesitation, he yanked her free from the rubble and tackled her to the ground, shielding her with his body as the debris crashed down around them.
When the dust settled, Ochaco looked up at Mineta, her cheeks flushed by how close he was. "You… You saved me."
Mineta offered her a reassuring smile, trying to ignore the slight pain in his back from where the debris had grazed him. "Just doing what heroes do," he said, his voice calm and confident.
Ochaco's eyes glistened with gratitude. "Thank you, Mineta."
As the exam concluded and recovery teams rushed in to assist the injured, Mineta stood to the side, watching Deku being carried away on a stretcher with recovery girl. The boy had broken his legs and arm in the process of taking down the zero-pointer.
Mineta smirked to himself. 'Let him have his moment of glory. In the end, I'm the one Ochaco will remember.'
(Please give me some power stones.)
