- Ugh,' I exhaled, sliding down the wall. This conversation had squeezed me good. I was getting cold feet! No, not because I was scared of her appearance, but because it was unexpected and at the worst possible moment - when I was as relaxed as possible. I had put all my cards in front of the girl, just to get the slightest chance with this beauty, but what could I do, there were no other options. There was no point in worrying about her chatty tongue, she'd tell my secret, so what? Yes, it would be unpleasant to become famous, but what good would it do her? If she agrees, it's better to announce me and her relationship with me. And if she doesn't, she'll have a strong bargaining chip to get something from me. - Okay, the stands are roaring, I'm late!

I walked into the stands and my hand reflexively went down to my face - canon, you are such a canon! Shizuka and Shinso in the first fight, what a twist, I didn't see that coming!

- Hey, Toru! - Kirishima jumped up from his seat and called out to me, 'There's an empty seat here. - and I headed over to my classmates. - Where have you been? The first round pairings have been announced!

- Getting to know the professional heroes, - well, there's some truth in that, - and who's with who?

- You can already see the first fight,' he pointed to the arena, 'the next one will be Sero and Hoshi.

- My money's on Todoroki!

- Yes, her quirk is very dangerous,' the guy beat his fist against his fist, using the quirk, which made a distinctive sound, 'I want to fight her and test my strength! Okay, then Iida and a girl from our team will fight.

- Her name is Mei, Mei Hatsume.

- Mm-hmm,' the interlocutor nodded, then Ibara and Katsumi will come out.

- Too bad about the girl.

- Which one? - A classmate asked.

- 'Well, not Bakugo, heh. I'd advise Ibara to just step outside the ring. Yeah, she won't do that, but with her principles of not hurting anyone... Bakugo will wear her down big time before she wins.

- Okay, then comes my fight with Tokoyami, who do you want to bet on?

- Pass, - and the guy immediately frowned, deciding that I didn't want to offend him, - your fight will be too hard, both for you and Tokoyami.

- I can actually hear everything,' came the voice of a classmate behind us, 'you could have left me out of the discussion.

- Well, I said what I thought. From everything I've heard, your fight will be the first really interesting one, the rest are so-so, what's longer?

- You and Shoji.

- Oh,' I hesitated, but then patted the guy sitting next to me on the back, 'I'm sorry, lay out all your trump cards and maybe you'll have a chance. - the guy gave me this weird look, but he seemed to know what I meant. I'll see if I give him a chance.

- Next,' Kirishima continued, 'Momo and Mina.

- Oh! Second interesting fight, I won't bet on it.

- That's it! You don't believe in me,' the girl's voice immediately rang out, 'I'll come out of this fight a clear winner! - Momo, who was sitting next to her, said nothing in response, only sighed heavily at her opponent's statement. But to be honest, with a frivolous approach to this fight, Mina will lose.

- 'Suit yourself,' the guy nodded, 'you can make up the last fight yourself.

- Yes, Tsuyu and Ochako, and once again I will refuse to make assumptions. Ochako needs to touch Tsuyu somehow and then victory is in her pocket, only thing is whether Tsuyu will let her do it.

- Kwa! - I heard behind me, but I didn't turn around in case they misinterpreted my conclusions like the couple before me.

- And so, ladies and gentlemen, the first battle of the final stage of the festival, - interrupted my reasoning by the voice of Midnight, who ran out to the podium, - has begun!

There is absolutely nothing to tell about the first battle. The battle happened exactly as in the canon. Midoriya fell under the influence of Shinso's quirk, but her quirk broke the girl's fingers, and I was forbidden to treat the injured until I left the competition.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't want to be the owner of One for All. Yeah, it's a powerful quirk, but letting a bunch of other people in my head? No, I'm sorry, I'm out. I've had that moment since the manga. The accumulation of power, I get it. Accumulating the owners' quirks along with the power is understandable, but it raises some questions. But creating some soul casts, and with a mind and will, isn't that a bit too fabulous, even for a world with quirks? Then 'All for One' should be something similar and the main villain, of this world, should also have a swarm of people in his head, and if you take into account the number of people he 'robbed', the man should have long ago lost his mind just from the whispers in his head, not to mention the pressure of all the unfairly disempowered soul casts. One way or another I'd rather not deal with these quirks, and I'd rather they died altogether. Specifically both of them. If 'One for All' falls into the wrong hands, it will be even worse than 'All for One', because it's been accumulating power for generations and is stronger than any ordinary quirk.

Okay, these are all just thoughts. I clapped for the girl who was saved by the quirk, and meanwhile, the next couple came on stage. I wonder what Hoshi's going to pull, it's not like she's going to freeze Sero like she did in....

- Wow! - The classmates exclaimed in unison after the girl's actions. I agree, it's beautiful! And the heat comes right here! Hoshi created a pillar of fire across the entire width of the ring, leaving a small piece of land on the edge of the arena for Sero, who can't even take a step and will soon start to fry if he doesn't give up.

- Sero Hunt can't move! The winner of the second match is Hoshi Todoroki! - The crowd erupted in cheers and the girl with her nose in the air left the arena.

The next fight was also dictated by the canon. Hatsume promoted for the entire fight, and left the arena when the time expired, to the annoyed shouts of Iida, unlucky guy and lucky guy at the same time. Maybe I'm the only one, but I think if Mei had used her inventions for battle instead of adverts, she would have beaten Iida. His quirk is good, there's no question about it, and he'd push a regular girl out of the arena no problem, but only all sorts of sensors and scanners would react much faster than his speed and twist the guy up like nothing to do.

The fight between Katsumi and Ibara was rather one-sided and ended with the expected victory of the explosive girl. Ibara created thorns as much as she could, defending herself from the explosions, but her stamina ran out much faster than Katsumi's and she was blown out of the arena by another explosion.

Well, the first grid fights are over, and it's time for us to move closer to the Arena.
