Master, and you still say this isn’t a dual cultivation technique?

Chapter 62 - Impotent?

Elder Yun Zhu didn’t say much more.

He led Xiao Lingchen to the teleportation array.

After a brief explanation, the disciple in charge activated the array, teleporting both Elder Yun Zhu and Xiao Lingchen away.

The familiar sensation of the world spinning hit them, as if they were traversing thousands of mountains and rivers.

Moments later, the feeling subsided.

When they opened their eyes, they had left Taixuan Sect and arrived at a profoundly mysterious place.

The air here was thick with spiritual energy, and all sorts of exotic flowers and rare herbs flourished.

“This is the entrance to the True Martial Space,” Elder Yun Zhu said as he led Xiao Lingchen forward.

Xiao Lingchen’s curiosity piqued. “Grand Elder, what’s it like inside the True Martial Space? What kind of opportunities are there?”

Elder Yun Zhu chuckled. “What it’s like inside? That’s hard to say. Everyone who enters sees something different, so the opportunities you might encounter vary from person to person. There’s no way to predict it.”

Xiao Lingchen nodded thoughtfully, then asked, “Have you ever been inside the True Martial Space, Grand Elder?”

Elder Yun Zhu’s face lit up with pride. “Of course! As the Grand Elder of Taixuan Sect, my contributions—both within and beyond the sect—are immense! That year when a massive flood struck Tianxuan Kingdom, I single-handedly pushed back the waters, saving over a hundred million people. With such a feat, how could I not earn the right to enter?”

Xiao Lingchen asked, “What did you see in there?”

Elder Yun Zhu grinned. “Me? Well… inside the True Martial Space, I saw twenty stunning, scantily clad immortal maidens surrounding me, each with a figure to die for.”

Xiao Lingchen’s eyes widened. Such a thing actually happened?

Elder Yun Zhu continued, “They teased and tempted me for a full three months. But my willpower is unshakable—I endured it all. In the end, I obtained a supreme Pure Heart Mantra. No illusion in this world can deceive me anymore, and I gained the ability to purify all delusions.”

Listening to Elder Yun Zhu’s tale, Xiao Lingchen had little interest in the Pure Heart Mantra. Instead, he wondered—could someone really be teased for so long without reacting at all? Could Elder Yun Zhu… be impotent?

Unaware of Xiao Lingchen’s thoughts, Elder Yun Zhu went on. “But that was just my experience. Everyone sees something different. The only advice I can give you is this: while the True Martial Space holds supreme opportunities, great rewards often come with great risks. You must be cautious—extremely cautious! If it comes down to it, abandon the opportunity rather than risk your life. You need to understand that only by staying alive do you preserve infinite possibilities!”

Elder Yun Zhu then asked, “Did you bring the Glazed Shield and the Void Return Pearl from the competition rewards? Those two can greatly improve your chances of survival.”

Xiao Lingchen nodded. “I’ve got them both.”

The Glazed Shield and Void Return Pearl were part of the individual rewards for taking first place in the sect’s grand competition.

Both were earth-grade high-tier treasures.

The Glazed Shield could automatically block damage, significantly boosting his self-preservation, while the Void Return Pearl could store energy over time and release it when needed, temporarily amplifying his cultivation and strength.

Both were incredibly versatile treasures, and they would indeed enhance his odds of surviving the True Martial Space.

The two chatted as they walked, covering another few hundred meters. Soon, they saw the elders from the other major sects already waiting ahead.

Upon spotting them, one elder couldn’t help but grumble, “Finally, they’re here! Wasting such a rare chance to enter the True Martial Space with this dawdling—unbelievable! They might as well let me go in instead!”

He wasn’t the only one complaining. Several other elders were brimming with resentment.

They were from sects that hadn’t ranked in the top three of the competition.

Not only had they lost most of their disciples and their wager, but now they had to make this trip to open the True Martial Space for Xiao Lingchen. Each one felt worse than if they’d died!

Elder Yun Zhu, however, wasn’t about to indulge them. “What’s all this whining? We said we’d open the True Martial Space today, and we’re not even late. If you’ve got a problem, we can settle it with a spar.”

Of all the elders, none felt more miserable than Elder Xinghe of the Tianyan Sect.

By now, the entire Tianyan Sect knew that Xiao Lingchen had massacred their disciples in the Dark Forest.

Every member of the sect despised him to the core, yearning to drink his blood and feast on his flesh!

Yet here Elder Xinghe was, forced to make this special trip to help open the True Martial Space for him!

This was due to a rule established tens of thousands of years ago by the Tianyan Sect’s founder and the other sects.

Tianyan Sect, along with the twelve other major sects of Tianxuan Kingdom, jointly guarded the True Martial Space.

If someone earned the right to enter, all thirteen sects had to be present to activate it together.

Any sect that refused to comply would face the combined wrath of the other twelve!

Thus, despite his extreme reluctance, Elder Xinghe had no choice but to comply.

The moment he saw Xiao Lingchen, his anger erupted like a volcano.

“So you’re Xiao Lingchen? The one who butchered my Tianyan Sect disciples to the last man during the grand competition?!”

Xiao Lingchen glanced at him and replied lightly, “So what if I am?”

Elder Xinghe gnashed his teeth. “Good! Very good! Excellent! You slaughtered my Tianyan Sect disciples—an unforgivable crime—and you still dare to act so arrogant! Once you come out of the True Martial Space, my Tianyan Sect will come knocking. We’ll settle this score properly! You’d better hope you don’t die in there!”

Xiao Lingchen didn’t back down. “Don’t worry. Even if I die, it’ll be after you.”

Elder Yun Zhu stepped in front of Xiao Lingchen, rebuking sharply, “Xinghe, you dare threaten my Taixuan Sect disciple right in front of me? Do you really think our Taixuan Sect is that easy to bully?!”

As the two squared off, several other sect elders quickly intervened.

“Alright, alright, enough arguing.”

“There’s no point in this.”

“Since he’s here, let’s just open the True Martial Space and get him inside.”

“We’ve got our own business to get back to!”

“Yeah! I’ve still got over two thousand red-skinned boars to feed at home!”

“Let’s hurry up!”

Elder Xinghe shot Xiao Lingchen a venomous glare.

He knew no amount of harsh words would matter now, so he dropped it. Joining the other twelve sect elders, he stepped forward.

Together, they began casting their spells.

In an instant, the spiritual energy in the area grew restless, surging wildly toward the space ahead.

The entire area seemed to ripple under an invisible force, until a vortex portal, tall enough for a person, formed before them!

Elder Yun Zhu spoke up. “Lingchen, this is the entrance to the True Martial Space. You can enter now to seek your opportunity! Remember what I told you—if it comes down to it, abandon the opportunity to save your life! Three months from now, we’ll open the exit for you, and I’ll bring people to escort you back to the sect.”

His final words weren’t just for Xiao Lingchen—they were a message for Elder Xinghe.

The implication was clear: Taixuan Sect would ensure Xiao Lingchen’s safe return, and the Tianyan Sect had better not try anything against him!

Xiao Lingchen nodded gratefully, then stepped into the vortex.

His vision blurred for a moment. In the next second, the world around him transformed completely.
