Marvelous Dragon ball

Chapter 5: Collwen Wing

"So-called 'Ki Sense'..."

Instant paused, considering the question, and then explained: "Every living thing possesses a unique energy called Ki, and 'Ki Sense' is a technique that allows you to focus and sense that energy. It's like a bio-radar. Ki Sense is a unique technique of the 'Kame School,' and I'm limited in how much I can share."

On hearing that, Danny Rand nodded thoughtfully, silent for a while, and said frankly: "I left Kunlun without finishing my training to become the Iron Fist. I'm still learning about Ki, and I'd appreciate any insights you can share that aren't considered secret."

While Danny Rand was still learning, he understood the importance of the Kame School's techniques. Seeing that Rex didn't dismiss his question, he was relieved and eagerly asked, "When you use Ki for barbecue, it flows smoothly. But I struggle to control my own Ki. Is there anything I can do to improve?"

"Yes, there is," Rex replied.

In Danny Rand's expectant eyes, Rex calmly explained, "The more you're challenged, the faster your defensive instincts will develop. Eventually, you'll be able to control your Ki naturally and smoothly."

Danny nodded thoughtfully, a light dawning in his eyes. "So that's why Master Lei Kung always pushed me so hard..." he murmured.

Rex cleared his throat, bringing Danny back to the present. "Let's sit down and talk. What else are you curious about?" he said, gently nudging Danny towards the table.

"Okay, I'd love to," Danny replied, eagerly grabbing a piece of barbecue and savoring the smoky flavor. "This is amazing!" he exclaimed, giving Rex a thumbs-up.

"You're welcome, Danny. I'm glad you like it," Rex said, settling back in his chair. "By the way, don't forget to spread the word about my place, okay?"

"Absolutely! I'll tell everyone about your amazing barbecue," Danny promised.

"What about recovering Ki? How do I get my energy back faster?" Danny asked.

Rex paused, considering Danny's question. The two of them talked and ate, sharing stories and insights about Ki. As darkness fell, Danny finally stood up to leave. Rex saw him out, a satisfied smile spreading across his face as he checked his account. 'Knowledge really is power,' he thought.

The extra $10,000 was a welcome surprise. It would come in handy for emergencies, and Rex no longer had to rely on shady means to make ends meet. Meeting the Iron Fist was unexpected, and Rex wasn't sure if it was a blessing or a curse. He was still weak and wanted to avoid drawing unwanted attention.

Rex had planned to keep a low profile until he could collect the Dragon Balls and make a wish to become more powerful. With Danny Rand around, Rex's 'Kung Fu barbecue' was no longer just a gimmick. People were starting to believe it was real kung fu.

Rex thought about the Hand, the deadly organization that threatened Kunlun. Images of the Hand's ninjas, a seemingly endless horde, flashed through Rex's mind. He felt a surge of urgency. 'I need to get stronger,' he told himself.

Despite the late hour, Rex closed his shop and went straight to his training room, determined to improve his skills. The next day, Rex focused on his training, only opening his shop just before lunchtime.

Rex's restaurant was busier than usual. It seemed Danny Rand's advertising was working. Within ten minutes of opening, three tables of new customers had arrived. One table ordered the Kung Fu barbecue, and after witnessing Rex's impressive cooking skills, the other two tables followed suit.

While the Kung Fu barbecue was tasty, it wasn't Rex's best dish. What truly amazed customers was the way he prepared it, with his impressive martial arts skills. Everyone who tried the Kung Fu barbecue loved it, and word spread quickly. Soon, the restaurant was packed, with a line of eager customers waiting outside.

Rex was overwhelmed. He was suddenly a chef, server, and cashier all at once. The rush of customers left him exhausted. Rex finally sat down to catch his breath, but the chime on the door announced another customer.

'I need help!' he thought. Rex stood up, ready to tell the customer the shop was closed, but he couldn't help but look at the person who had entered.

A young Asian woman, barely 20, stepped through the door. She was petite and graceful, with long, sleek black hair framing a delicate face. By any standard, she was stunningly beautiful.

Rex was surprised to recognize the woman. It was Colleen Wing, a regular customer at his restaurant. She was a mix of Chinese and Japanese, having lived in both countries for several years before settling in New York. Despite her small stature, Colleen was a skilled martial artist, proficient in Aikido and Karate. She was a teacher at a nearby Japanese martial arts school.

Rex's eyes widened in recognition. He recognized Colleen Wing from his past life! It was Colleen Wing, the future love interest of the Iron Fist and a member of the Daughters of the Dragon. Her Sensei, Bakuto, was one of the 'Five Fingers' of the Hand, though she didn't know it yet.

Colleen gave Rex a puzzled look. 'Why do you seem to not know me?' she asked.

Rex stammered, caught off guard. "Colleen, you look beautiful today. I'm just a little surprised to see you," he said, a smile spreading across his face.
