Chapter 22: MISSION
Looking at her drunken figure, Killian didn't say anything. He wouldn't, for he was too tired. Ignoring her, he swiftly moved up the stairs straight to his room. Peggy was so drunk and overwhelmed by her depression that she didn't even notice that he had entered. Sitting on his bed, Killian couldn't believe what he was seeing. In his eyes, the system displayed itself, and it wrote words Killian had hoped he would never have to see:
**[MISSIONS UNLOCKED]**
**[HOST HAS AFFECTED THE TIMELINE TO SOME EXTENT]**
**[HOST HAS TRIGGERED MISSIONS]**
**{MISSION: REVENGE}**
**[REWARD: ???]**
**[DOES HOST ACCEPT?]**
This made Killian ponder his situation. Did the system truly have consciousness? Looking at it for a while, Killian decided to go to sleep, ignoring the floating screen that stood beside him. Dropping his body backward, falling into the soft embrace of expensive sheets, losing consciousness and diving into the comfort of sleep. The next day, Killian felt well-rested. He felt as if a large burden had come off his body, as if he was truly free. Then, for the first time since coming to this world, a smile of greed was visible on the tips of his lips. "System," he thought, and the system appeared as he had expected, and the missions were still there as if awaiting his response. "Accept," he said softly.
**[Task: Your father's death was not an accident. Find those responsible and execute.]**
The words were written in a short, simple sentence anyone would understand, but Killian was conflicted with a thought which he later brushed off as impossible. "Why would the system want me to execute?" And as if helping him, the system displayed a small map directly into Killian's retina. The map showed four dots converging in different directions; these dots were moving and seemed to be gathering in one direction. "Is there a meeting?" Killian asked himself. Although he had just woken up, he felt as if this was the perfect opportunity to execute his mission. Walking into the bathroom and preparing his usual routine, the door suddenly opened. "Howard says din…" Peggy was left speechless. Ken was completely naked in his room, dressing, but that didn't seem to bother her considering Killian's age. What amazed her was his incredible figure; his eyes were as white as blinding snow, one would have to squint their eyes to get a good view. His face was beautiful, his hair curled and white; he was what she felt to be the definition of an angel. "Howard says dinner is ready," she fixed her words, and Killian just nodded in response. Walking out, she realized what she had just done; she quickly believed that he was just a child and didn't mind any of her inappropriate behavior. Walking down, she was met with Howard, who was currently fixing breakfast. Turning his head and facing her, he realized that her face was almost red and filled with embarrassment. "You didn't knock, did you?" Howard asked as if taunting, then he laughed, realizing his intuition was right.
Walking out of the room, Killian met both of them. He sat down, and they had a lovely conversation. It was as if Killian had known Peggy for a long time; she seemed comfortable and carefree, which was probably because she viewed Killian as a 10-year-old child who knew nothing. But throughout the conversation, she realized that he had some type of maturity in the way he spoke, and his words and intellect were as if speaking to a grown adult. She mistook this for thinking that Killian was just a shy person, but in reality, the ability Killian had learned from Charles had changed him in many different ways. This included the way he acted and talked; his thinking process was now reduced to at least 0.1 seconds of the original, and his mind-reading abilities were as natural as ever. He was probably the most powerful mind in the room, but a powerful mind didn't make him intelligent; it only made him gain potential, possibly increasing it by 94%. Looking at Peggy, Killian entered her mind and looked through her memories. He could see a vast variety of her life, her dreams, and ambition, but deep inside her was a feeling of regret, as though she was burdened. "I guess she did truly love him," Killian thought to himself because all his life he had thought that the only reason Peggy had feelings for Steve was because of his super soldier physique and acquired good looks. But no, it seemed as if deep in her heart, she loved him way before he got it. Passing those memories, Killian looked at the memories when she was in the military; he could see her training and fighting. Killian looked at the way she fights and her techniques and saved them in the storage of his memory. Although Killian could read and see memories and the different ways she executes her opponents, he still couldn't perform them because they needed him to do them physically and learn them himself.
But as he was looking through them, a faint smile came to his lips. He stretched out his hand and held her hair; she was confused by this but took no offense considering his young age. "Your hair is beautiful," he said and felt embarrassed at himself because these words sounded too cringe. Taking out a strand of her hair, he activated the system, and a variety of information appeared near his eyes: a near endless variety of weapon mastery to sniper operation, all of those, but one thing stood out the most to him, and that was **[assassination mastery {advanced}]**, something that he could use now in order to complete his mission.
