Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Hello, I’m Gwen Stacy
Marvel Universe.
In a luxurious residence.
"Your frog has gone on a trip!"
"The frog will occasionally send back travel photos. Please check your messages!"
"When the frog returns, it will bring back souvenirs and special items from its travels. Remember to check!"
...
Sitting on a high-end sofa, Alan couldn't help but smile when he heard the voice in his head. "Finally, it went on a trip."
Two days ago, he had transmigrated into this highly dangerous Marvel Universe.
Although, as an orphan, he had inherited a sizable fortune and even owned a luxurious residence in the heart of New York City.
But Alan, who was familiar with the Marvel storyline, knew all too well that in this world, without enough power, that sizable fortune would soon become just another inheritance.
Those damned superheroes wouldn't care about the safety of civilians' lives or property when they started fighting. They only dealt with the aftermath once the dust settled.
Who knew if one day while he was comfortably asleep, someone might come crashing through his balcony?
Fortunately, as a transmigrator, Alan had awakened his "golden finger" — his cheat ability.
What Alan hadn't expected, though, was that his cheat ability turned out to be from a highly popular casual game he played in his past life: Traveling Frog.
The gameplay of the game was very simple. The player had a small frog that loved to travel. All you had to do was prepare travel luggage for the frog, and it would go on trips far and wide, bringing back various souvenirs and special items as gifts for its owner.
But now, the game had undergone a massive transformation.
The basic gameplay hadn't changed, but the frog's travel destinations had shifted to encompass all kinds of different worlds.
It could travel to the worlds of novels, cinematic universes, anime worlds, and more…
In other words, the souvenirs and special items the frog brought back would be products from various dimensions.
Even more importantly, Alan could actually use these items.
This made Alan incredibly excited about what kind of gift the frog would bring back from its first trip.
After waiting a day, his little frog, which he had simply named "Frog," finally set off on its journey.
"I wonder which world it'll visit."
"Hopefully, it'll bring back something to enhance my abilities."
"Otherwise, living in this supposedly peaceful New York City still feels a bit unsettling."
As he stared at the little in-game frog house in his mind, Alan muttered to himself.
Just then, the alarm clock next to him went off.
Alan glanced at the time.
It was time for class.
Today was the first day of school.
Although he was a transmigrator, at his core, he was still just a newly-adult university student.
Moreover, he had just transferred to Empire State University.
"I wonder if I'll run into Spider-Man?" Alan mused as he grabbed his backpack.
Then again, after thinking it over, he realized that it was probably unlikely.
In the past two days, aside from waiting for his frog to go on its trip, Alan had also been looking up information on several key figures.
Right now, Tony Stark was still an arms dealer, living it up in luxury.
Captain America was nothing more than a historical figure.
The Hulk hadn't yet appeared in the public eye.
In other words, it seemed the Marvel Universe's plot hadn't even started yet...
...
Empire State University
Empire State University, one of New York City's premier universities.
Today was the first day of the new semester, with banners hanging at the entrance.
Several well-dressed female members of the student council stood at the gates, welcoming new students.
Being a newcomer, Alan naturally found himself among those receiving a warm welcome.
Although he was familiar with the Marvel storyline, that didn't mean he was familiar with his new environment.
On top of that, his previous self had just transferred to this university, so he was clueless about the layout.
He knew what classes he had today and which classroom he was supposed to be in, but he had no idea how to get there.
Just as Alan was about to ask a student council member for directions, a lively, youthful voice sounded behind him, "Hi there, can I help you with anything?"
Turning around, Alan saw a stunning blonde girl with a well-proportioned figure and striking features standing behind him, holding a stack of books.
"Hello, I'm Gwen Stacy!"
When Gwen saw Alan turn around, she was taken aback by his handsome and refined Asian features, her eyes lighting up.
He's so handsome, she thought to herself.
Hearing Gwen introduce herself and seeing her friendly smile, Alan immediately realized who she was. Wasn't this Gwen Stacy, one of Spider-Man's love interests?
But...
Wasn't the timeline a bit off?
Logically, Tony Stark hadn't become Iron Man yet.
Gwen and Peter Parker shouldn't even be in college at this point, right?
Despite the confusion in his mind, Alan remained polite and extended a hand to Gwen.
Her hand was soft and smooth.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Alan Ford."
"Alan..." Gwen paused for a moment, and then her face lit up with excitement. "You're the new transfer student in our class, right?
Our professor mentioned you to me a few days ago and asked me to show you around campus. I didn't expect to run into you like this."
Alan smiled, "It's quite a coincidence. So, would you mind showing me around the school and then taking me to our class?"
He couldn't believe his luck—he hadn't expected to be in the same class as Gwen.
"Of course!" Gwen responded playfully, clearly pleased by Alan's politeness.
She enthusiastically began to introduce various parts of the campus as they walked.
"That's the library over there, and that's the gymnasium..."
"I think we should continue the campus tour another time," Alan interrupted, glancing at his watch, "We're almost out of time before class starts."
Gwen smiled and reassured him, "Don't worry, Alan, we're heading toward the classroom right now. I was just introducing you to the sights along the way."
"Of course, if you want to continue exploring later, I'd be happy to be your guide again."
Alan smiled back, "I could definitely use a beautiful tour guide."
He meant it, too. After all, Gwen was one of the few female characters in Marvel known for her striking looks.
Blushing slightly, Gwen pointed ahead and said, "Look, there's our classroom."
