Marvel: Son of TOAA

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Path of Rebellion

Chapter 5: The Path of Rebellion

Azrael stood in the heart of the multiverse, surrounded by the vastness of creation. The galaxies, stars, and infinite realms seemed insignificant now—mere toys in his eyes. He was the son of TOAA, and if his father would not give him the answers he so desperately craved, then Azrael would take them for himself.

He had tried to seek understanding, but now that TOAA had refused to offer him clarity, Azrael felt a burning sense of betrayal. His existence—his very being—was being treated as an afterthought. The Creator had left him to wander in silence, locked in slumber, and Azrael would not allow that to continue.

With his mind focused on his rebellion, Azrael began to devise a new path. A path where he would no longer be bound by the multiverse's laws or TOAA's will. It was time to reshape the cosmos in his image.

---

Azrael's first move was against the cosmic hierarchy—the beings who upheld the structure of the multiverse. Eternity, Infinity, Oblivion, and Death had watched over creation since its inception, and Azrael knew that to claim control, he must first challenge their power.

He traveled across dimensions, visiting the realms where Eternity and Infinity existed, their forms ever-shifting and tied to the very fabric of time and space. In each place he visited, Azrael's power rippled through reality, shaking the foundations of existence itself. These beings had existed for eons, and yet they had never experienced anything like Azrael's presence.

He encountered Eternity first, the embodiment of time itself. The cosmic entity stood before him, its vast form a silhouette against the backdrop of creation.

"Azrael, firstborn of the Creator," Eternity spoke, its voice echoing with the weight of ages. "What brings you to the realms of time?"

Azrael looked at Eternity with disdain. "I seek answers, but the Creator offers none. I will not be subjugated to your laws, Time. I will not be bound by your infinite chains."

Eternity's presence grew more intense, but Azrael's power flared with equal force. "I was born beyond the laws of creation. You are but a fleeting concept in my path."

With a flick of his wrist, Azrael tore through Eternity's form, leaving a rip in the very fabric of time. Eternity's essence wavered, but it did not fall. Azrael had not come to destroy, not yet, but to send a message.

"I will not be silenced," Azrael declared, turning away. "The multiverse will bend to my will."

---

Azrael's arrogance grew with each victory, and the first seeds of his rebellion spread across the multiverse. He began to gather followers—beings who were disillusioned with the established order, those who saw Azrael as the true ruler of the cosmos.

Some came out of loyalty to the firstborn of TOAA, believing that his strength would lead them to a new age. Others were drawn to his promise of freedom from the cosmic forces that had long dictated the flow of existence. He offered them power, treasures, and a chance to reshape the multiverse according to his desires.

Azrael's followers grew in number, each one swearing loyalty to him as their new god. He created powerful artifacts, each one infused with his essence, to reward his most devoted. These artifacts allowed his followers to tap into his power, granting them dominion over their own realms and the ability to challenge even the oldest of cosmic entities.

At his side stood his trusted assistant, a creation of his own making—a female servant who existed only to serve him. She had been made to ease his loneliness, but in her, Azrael saw something more. She was the first true companion he had ever known, the first being he had created who was not born from the will of another.

---

From the shadows, Death watched Azrael's rise. She had long harbored a fascination with the Firstborn, and now, with TOAA's absence, she saw an opportunity. Death whispered into Azrael's ear, feeding his desire for vengeance and his need to assert dominance over the multiverse.

"The balance must be broken, Azrael," Death spoke, her voice a haunting lullaby. "TOAA was content with the way things were. But you— you—can do better. You can rule as the true force of creation. Destroy the old order. Let them know the true power of a god."

Azrael's heart swelled with the promise of a future where he stood unchallenged, where he could rule over every cosmic entity as the true master of existence. Death's influence was subtle but potent, and it pushed him further down the path of rebellion.

---

And then there was Oblivion, ever-present in the shadows, quietly watching Azrael's every move. He had planted the seeds of doubt in Azrael's mind, and now he watched with quiet satisfaction as his plan began to unfold.

Oblivion had known Azrael's pride would be his downfall. He had known that the Firstborn's arrogance and sense of entitlement would eventually lead him to rebel. It was not just a matter of strength—it was a matter of ego. And Oblivion, the embodiment of the void, was patient.

"Let him believe he is the true force of creation," Oblivion thought to himself, hidden from view. "He will make the first move, and I shall ensure that he brings about the chaos I desire."

---

As Azrael's rebellion grew bolder, the multiverse trembled. The Living Tribunal, the embodiment of cosmic balance, took notice of his actions. The Tribunal's three faces—Vengeance, Necessity, and Equity—consulted one another in an attempt to determine how to handle the rising threat.

Galactus, the Devourer of Worlds, also sensed the growing disturbance. He had long understood the fragility of the cosmic order, but now, with Azrael's rise, that order seemed on the brink of collapse. The question lingered: Could they stop him? Or would Azrael reshape the multiverse in his own image?
