Chapter 118: Marvel Scientist Becomes God, Ch 75.1
The battle-hardened soldiers charged inside, quickly realizing that their numbers were far too few; the opponents had over a dozen members, indicating that Magneto was determined to see this plan succeed. Just dealing with Scarlet Witch was already overwhelming for them; they also had the likes of Quicksilver and Polaris, elite fighters who swiftly subdued five of the X-Men.
Fortunately, these opponents had no intention of harming the X-Men; their actions were controlled. The White Queen glanced at the subdued X-Men with a helpless shake of her head and said, "Why can't you understand Magneto's intentions?"
"Do you think that by helping humanity, they will feel grateful? Humanity hates us, and they hate you too. In their eyes, we are mutants; you are mutants, just the same. There's no difference. Look at these national leaders; they don't mention the oppression of mutants at all. They turn a blind eye to our good intentions and only want legislation to imprison us mutants like wild animals. What do you think they'll do when they lock us up?"
As she spoke, the White Queen's delicate voice grew louder, her face flushed with excitement and anger. The eyes of her companions almost seemed to blaze with fury; they had all experienced being trapped by humans.
Seeing that no one had a response, the White Queen continued, "They will imprison you, perform dissection, and conduct all sorts of inhumane experiments. They'll put you on an operating table, using various methods to experiment on your bodies. In their eyes, your bodies are no different from those of white mice or rabbits. They'll cut you open with little knives, torture your nerves with electric shocks, and even open your skulls to examine the insides!"
With each word the White Queen uttered, the faces of the bound mutants darkened, especially Scott's. He was captured by Weapon X as a teenager and underwent a series of experiments; the dark, terrifying place still haunted him. It was a brutal experience that often manifested as nightmares.
As the White Queen recounted her account, Scott couldn't help but remember how he'd felt back then, alongside other mutants who suffered a similar fate. They had been crammed into iron cages, like lab animals. Those captured included both adults and children, men and women, all facing endless torment and experimentation. The fortunate ones emerged with missing limbs; the unfortunate ones were left bloodied and unrecognizable, their skin seemingly flayed, left like dead dogs thrown back into their cages. Some people couldn't withstand the torture and either went mad or became vegetables from the experiments.
The researchers had twisted faces, their eyes cold; the looks they gave were no different from those aimed at lab animals. At that time, Scott couldn't fathom why they inflicted such cruelty upon them, simply for being mutants.
Years later, he finally understood the reason—it was as simple as they had always perceived them as less than human. They had no reason to consider them human at all.
