Chapter 38: (Demon Slayer) -- CHAPTER 37: The headquarters of the Demon Slayer corps

The Ubuyashiki family are the founders and current management of the Demon Slayer Corps, an organization dedicated to defending humanity from the threat of demons.

Due to its long history and deep-rooted traditions, the Ubuyashiki family represents authority and knowledge.

They have knowledge of the many demons the Corps faces and the tactics and equipment needed in battle. They are the ones who coordinate and supervise the frontline Demon Slayers.

Since the location of the mansion cannot be exposed casually, on the way to the Demon Slayer corps headquarters, Yuri and the Kocho sisters entered an airtight carriage.

Although this is a bit boring, the experience of riding in a carriage for the first time was actually pretty cool for Yuri.

As soon as the three entered, they heard a crow calling in the distance:

"Arriving!"

"They're here!"

Under the guidance of Kanae and Shinobu, Yuri walked through a garden with beautiful flowers and plants, passed a small bridge and artistically designed running water, and finally arrived in front of a mansion.

It's a Japanese-style mansion, it felt quite old at first glance.

In front of the courtyard of this mansion, sitting under the eaves, was a man who had been suffering from a long illness.

He is the current leader of the Demon Slayer Corps: Ubuyashiki Kagaya.

The Ubuyashiki family is a renowned and historic lineage. In the distant past, thousands of years ago, they are related to Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of demons.

Because their bloodline produced the first demon, the Ubuyashiki Family was cursed, and every male child born into the family would be born with a disease that would kill them before they were fully grown.

The disease consists of a burn-like skin condition that will eventually cover the entire body and shorten its lifespan.

Wanting to get rid of the curse, members of the Ubuyashiki Family visited a priest, who told them that male heirs must marry a woman chosen by a priest.

This seemed to work, as the Ubuyashiki male children managed to survive into adulthood, although they were still plagued by disease and died in early adulthood.

The priest also told them that they should make it their life's goal to kill Muzan, as the curse will last until they eliminate the evil and cleanse the stain on their lineage.

Therefore, they were the ones who conceived the idea of establishing the Demon Slayer Corps to put an end to evil and free themselves from the darkness that the demons unleashed.

Male members take on the role of Oyakata-sama, serving as the head of the organization.

Today, Ubuyashiki Kagaya is the 97th member of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Due to the illness, the upper half of his face was completely disfigured. But his body exudes an aura of peace. Even after Yuri saw him, he could also feel this spring breeze of peace.

The moment Yuri entered the courtyard, several figures appeared.

Accompanied by the sounds breaking the air, all the current pillars appeared and landed in the open space of the courtyard.

(It seems they still don't trust me.)

(But this is understandable)

Yuri looked at these people with interest.

The one with long yellow and red hair, sword-shaped eyebrows, and piercing eyes is Flame Pillar Kyojuro Rengoku.

The one with three scars on his face, and his entire body is also covered in scars, looking fierce is Sanemi Shinazugawa.

The one who is wearing a diamond-studded forehead protector on his head, with light cyan chains hanging on both sides of the headdress and his silvery-white hair tied into a prominent ponytail, he should be the winner in life, Tengen Uzui.

One who wears a black and white uniform typical of a Demon Slayer, with bandages over his shins resembling kyahan and white zōri with an olive green happi hanging over his shoulders.

The happi's collared frame contains the kanji for the Japanese chant Nianfo/Shin Buddha from top to bottom, along with the separate kanji all over the back. He also sports a necklace of large beads around his neck and carries a set of ojuzu beads when not engaged in battle. This is Gyomei Himejima

Mitsuri Konroji has not yet matured and is probably still developing his own breathing method and has not yet become a mainstay.

Tokito Muichiro probably doesn't either.

As for the Iguro Obanai Snake Pillar and the Giyu Tomioka Water Pillar, they are probably not there.

After all, if you add Kanae, there are already five pillars in the picture.

"Winters-kun, Kanae Kocho, and Shinobu Kocho sent a message about your arrival. Please forgive me for holding a meeting at such short notice."

After Kagaya sincerely apologized, he looked carefully and said:

"Winters-kun, do you know about the breathing style you use?"

"Yes, it is the Sun Breathing technique, it was created by Tsugikuni Yoriichi and is the ancestor and basis of all breathing techniques.

Seeing Yuri responding accurately, Kagaya nodded.

"Yes, during the Sengoku era, a genius swordsman was born - Yoriichi Tsugikuni."

"On the recommendation of the head of the Rengoku family, he joined the Demon Slayer Corps. Based on the principles of the breathing method he mastered, he created his own Breath of the Sun and shared it with other members of the Demon Slayer Corps."

"But because other people could not withstand the power of the sun and could not learn his method, he developed other breathing styles based on sun breathing, including water, thunder, fire, Rock and Wind and taught them to his students."

"After that, the members of the Demon Slayer Corps created a variety of derivative breathing methods based on these five basic breathing methods. The emergence of the breathing method gave the Demon Slayer Corps a weapon to deal with demons."

"With the gradual improvement of the breathing method, Sun Breathing was lost, but other breathing methods are always developing prosperously, and its heirs continue to create new movements based on it."

It could be seen that Kagaya was very excited today and spoke a lot at once.

"Now, the Demon Slayer Corps has grown to a scale unprecedented in history, with seven pillars in existence. Furthermore, it might be God's will that you, Winters-kun, appeared at this time!

"Oyakata-sama, please take care of yourself."

"Oyakata-sama, please don't get too excited."

The pillars in the courtyard spoke hurriedly with concern, and it could be seen that they respected the Leader of the Demon Slayer corps from the bottom of their hearts.

Kagaya smiled gratefully at them in response and coughed a few more times before feeling better.

"I'm sorry, Winters-kun, I got really excited. When I think that the terrible fate that our family has suffered for thousands of years can be resolved in this generation, I can't suppress my feelings."

"If you don't mind, could you tell me this story?"

"Certainly."

Although Yuri already knew the nonsense about Muzan and the Ubuyashiki family, he still pretended to be interested and listened carefully.

Kagaya explained in detail Muzai's origin, the bloody battle his family fought against him for thousands of years, and the history and mission of the Demon Slayer Corps.

During the Heian era, Muzan was just an ordinary person who suffered from illnesses. To prolong his life, a pharmacist prepared a special medicine for him. As a result, his body was still deteriorating, he was desperate at this point. He then killed the pharmacist, but afterward discovered that he had regained his health, had unparalleled strength, and eternal life!

However, Muzan also began to crave human flesh. Although this is not a problem for him, who has gained great power, sunlight has become his greatest and most hated weakness. Being unable to walk in the sun for his entire life made Muzan feel extremely humiliated and angry.

Brothers and sisters, I have great news, I'll finally be able to get back to our update schedule.

Unfortunately, it won't be until January 2nd next year.

As for why I haven't updated anything in the last few days, Ahh... Some relatives came to celebrate Christmas here at my house, unfortunately they won't be leaving until January 1st.

Getting back to the subject, since I still had some things to do, the bastards left the kids with me and went out... As far as I know, they went to some kind of party that was going on at the beach near where I live.

Having said that... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! even though I'm two days late hehehe.

I also wish a happy new year to everyone who's already early, because maybe, just maybe, I won't be able to post anything on that day.
