Chapter fifty four:

It had been a week since our fight and things are starting to get good but we didn't feel as intimate. Usually we'd be together every night and morning but it's been days. I wanted to do something for Wanda. We hadn't been to the restaurant or to see my family in a while so I thought we'd head down. The rest of the kids went home for a week. We decided to have half terms like British schools as training was intense. I booked for Wanda and I to stay in a hotel not far from Jordans house and the kids were going to stay at my parents house. I packed enough clothes for a few days for all of us. Wanda Maximoff was sound asleep she looked so peaceful when she slept.

We had to leave in a couple of hours so I started to kiss her on the neck.

"Morning do we have to leave?" Said Wanda Maximoff.

"We have a couple of hours but I didn't want to be rushing around. I want this trip to be enjoyable and relaxing for all of us." I replied.

"Thank you for planning this I'm looking forward to wherever we're going." Said Wanda Maximoff.

"You're welcome. I'm going to take a shower are you coming?" Replied Wanda Maximoff.

"No it's ok I'm going to message Jordan just to let him know we'll be off grid for a few days." I said.

Wanda Maximoff then walked off feeling awful.

Me: Hey Jordan. I'm looking forward to seeing you today.

Jordan: Me too it's been so long. You still holding out on Wanda?

Me: Yes but only because I'll end up telling her. I want it to be a surprise. She always wanted a dog and now that you've house trained it for us thank you by the way she'll love her eyen more.

Jordan: Remember to act surprised or Wanda will get angry. I know you find her accent hot but her head tilt is scary.

Me: Don't worry I've got everything covered.

I deleted the message and started to get ready for the day. Wanda Maximoff got out of the shower and I gave her a quick kiss on the lips before showering. It was torture hiding things from her and not being able to join her or touch her.

We get in the car and Natasha takes control of the Aux cord playing The Best of Both Worlds by Hannah Montana which made me laugh.

"What are you laughing at?" Said Wanda Maximoff.

"How did we not know that she likes Hannah Montana?" I replied.

"I don't know." Said Wanda Maximoff.

"Are you going to tell me where we are going or am I just going to relieve the are we there yet movie and ask at incessant intervals to the point where you tie me to the roof?" I replied.

"I'm more than happy to tie you to the roof Travis." Said Wanda Maximoff.

"Sassy I like it." I replied.

After a hour or so we near Jordan's house and I can see Wanda's contemplating to tell me.

"So you probably figured it out by now where we are going. We haven't seen our family in a while and I thought it would be nice to have a change of scenery." Said Wanda Maximoff.

"Thank you. I love the idea." I replied before kissing her gently on the lips.

Wanda Maximoff then looked at me trying to work out if I knew so I just acted casual. We pulled up at the hotel and dropped off our bags before going to Carol Danvers and Jordan's house for a BBQ.

When we pulled up I had a scarf in my hand.

"Ok don't get mad but I have a surprise for you." I said.

"I knew you you knew were coming here. I can't believe I went through." Replied Wanda Maximoff.

I then kissed her long and passionately on the lips.

"I'm so grateful babe I am but I need you to put the scarf over your eyes ok?" I said.

"Fine." Said Wanda Maximoff. I then took her hand before walking to the back where the kids was holding a puppy.

Kissing Wanda Maximoff on the lips I took the scarf off. Wanda Maximoff looked at me when I moved out of the way her anger fades away. Wanda Maximoff then took the puppy and it started to lick her hand.

"Are you serious Travis?" Said Wanda Maximoff.

"I'm serious. They've trained house her and she'll stay here until we head back home. I know you've always wanted a puppy and the kids are growing up and are pretty responsible. I've checked everyone's medical records at the school and no one is allergic. She's all yours." I replied.

"I love it thank you." Said Wanda Maximoff before she kissed me gently on the lips.

"And you know I think you're a goddess. It's just I leave myself open to you looking inside my brain or just blurting it out cause I love you so much and I really wanted to surprise you." I replied.

"I was so worried. No more surprises please. I love you Travis." Said Wanda Maximoff.

We sit down at the table while Jordan prepared the BBQ the puppy sat on Wanda Maximoff's lap before going to sleep.

"So what are you going to name her?" I replied.

"How about Luna?" Said Wanda Maximoff.

I nodded my head. My parents arrived soon after. It was good to see them again but my dad didn't look well. I looked at my mom and she shook her head as if not to ask. Dad was pretty quiet and barely ate. My mom then went inside of the house.

"What's going on?" I replied.

"I don't want to talk about it right now." Said Rio Vidal or my mother.

"I'm not accepting that. He's sick isn't he?" I replied.

"Just leave it ok. We'll talk about it another time let's not spoil the day." Said Rio Vidal or my mother.

"I'm not trying to spoil the day I'd just like to know what's wrong with him." I replied.

Wanda Maximoff then came in behind us.

"Are you okay?" Said Wanda Maximoff.

"I'm fine but clearly dad isn't and mom won't tell me what's going on." I replied.

"I told you to leave it Travis." Said Rio Vidal or my mother.

I started to tear up so Wanda held me tight.

"It's not just aging Wanda. He didn't look like that a few months ago. It's not in my head is it?" I replied.

"No babe I'm sorry it's not." Said Wanda Maximoff before she wiped my tears away.

Dad got tired so he decided to leave with the kids. I hugged him and he smiled at me.

"You can tell me anything you know." I replied.

He pointed to his head. I then closed my eyes and concentrated. There was sirens and him collapsing at home clutching his chest. There's hospital lights and doctors telling him that he had a heart attack. This was a few weeks ago no wonder he looked ill. They gave him a clearing and told him to take it easy. When I came back to reality he nodded.

They drove out of eyesight and I started crying.

"What is it? What happened?" Said Wanda Maximoff.

"He had a heart attack a few weeks ago. He's fine now but he could've died. Why didn't tell me?" I replied.

"They knew you had a lot on with the kids and he was fine. They didn't want to worry you." Said Jordan.

"Except he hasn't had a heart attack and no one dared to tell me. I get that I'm not really their son but I thought I deserved to know." I replied.

"Don't say that. Come on and sit down and have a drink you aren't driving." Said Jordan.

"I can't be here right now. Thank you for the lovely day. I'll see you tomorrow." I replied.

Wanda Maximoff then said goodbye to both of them and followed me outside. When we got back to the hotel I was in awe. Wanda Maximoff held me tight before kissing me gently on the lips.

"I'm sorry I ruined your holiday. I should have just left it." I said.

"You stop that right now Travis Maximoff. I get it completely. Being here with you is all I wanted." Replied Wanda Maximoff.

We both then got into bed and Wanda snuggled up against me while I tried to process what happened.
