"Heh..."
With a mocking sneer, the electrically charged hand of the Spark surged toward Hank Pym, aiming to grab him.
If he couldn't catch the daughter, grabbing the father would work just as well.
Furious, Hank Pym clenched his fist and swung it toward the Spark's chin, but as soon as he made contact, silver-white electricity surged down his arm and spread through his body, causing him to shake uncontrollably.
"Heh!"
The Spark sneered again, tightening his grip on Hank's hand as silver currents surged over him.
"Ugh… ugh…"
Hank Pym twitched violently from the electric shock.
Witnessing this, Mike, who had pretended to faint, couldn't help but feel exasperated.
He had high hopes for Hank Pym, but this had clearly been a mistake.
Without the Ant-Man suit, this was a disaster.
Should he step in?
Mike's gaze sharpened as he looked at the nearly unconscious Hank Pym.
Would this expose him?
Moreover, this mutant didn't seem that strong.
Wait, I've got it!
Mike's eyes lit up.
Several cards quietly appeared in his hand, hanging by his side.
In the next instant, the cards vanished, and strange lights began to flicker around Hank Pym.
Power Blessing, Dark Shield, True Word: Shield.
The sudden appearance of light startled the Spark, and silver electricity began to gather in his palm as he swung a slap toward Hank's head.
"Bang!"
With a sharp sound, Hank's shield blocked the slap.
"Damn it!"
The Spark cursed under his breath, glaring at Hank. "You're a mutant too!"
Hank Pym was momentarily stunned.
What? A mutant? What's that? Have I awakened some ability?
Wait, someone is helping me!
A thought flashed through Hank's mind, and as the paralysis sensation quickly faded, he stood up. He felt the surge of power within him and, without wasting time thinking, charged at the Spark.
Seeing this, the Spark intensified his power, causing the electricity flowing through his body to become more brilliant and violent.
However, all of the electrical current was absorbed by the Dark Shield and True Word: Shield, and Hank Pym landed a powerful punch to the Spark's chin.
This time, there was no paralysis, no pain—just a rush of exhilaration!
Hank was stunned to see the mutant sent flying by his punch.
"What kind of power is this? It's so ridiculous!"
Hank marveled inwardly, seizing the opportunity to charge again and rain down blows on the Spark.
Once the mutant's abilities were blocked by the shields, the Spark became just an ordinary person, completely no match for the battle-hardened Hank Pym.
Seeing this, Mike breathed a sigh of relief and let himself truly faint.
Power Blessing doesn't increase a target's strength as a percentage but rather adds a fixed amount.
This means if it were applied to a powerhouse like the Hulk, the increase would be negligible, but for Hank Pym, it gave him a substantial boost.
Seconds later, the Spark was left bruised and unconscious, his face swollen from Hank Pym's fury.
Hank let out a deep breath and looked around, but all he saw were panicked people fleeing. He had no idea who had helped him.
Who was it that assisted me?
"Hank!"
Before he could figure it out, Hope came running from nearby and threw herself into his arms.
The two little ones had been hiding not far off, watching the scene unfold.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
Hope examined Hank anxiously. When she saw that, aside from his hair being frazzled, he didn't have any serious injuries, she immediately relaxed.
Hank Pym felt a sweet warmth in his heart, as if he'd just tasted honey.
"Ah! Uncle Mike!"
Hope exclaimed and ran toward Mike.
At this moment, Clark was crouching beside Mike. After seeing Mike wink at him, Clark finally relaxed.
The scene where Mike had been electrocuted had shocked him as well.
"Dad!"
Amid the terrified shout, Erik and Charles ran over.
Erik's face was grim, his eyes red, while Charles had already started crying.
"Dad, don't die!"
Charles knelt beside Mike, crying loudly, making Mike feel as though his end had come too soon.
Erik glanced at Mike, holding back tears. Without saying a word, he walked over to the Spark and kicked him hard in the head twice. He then waved his hand toward the metal in the distance.
"Erik! Dad's fine! He just passed out!"
Clark called out.
Erik snapped back to reality and retracted his powers.
Seeing this, Clark let out a relieved breath.
If Erik had taken any longer, he would have lost control and revealed his powers.
Erik rushed to Mike's side, glaring at Charles. "What are you crying about? Dad isn't dead!"
Charles blinked, using his ability to link their minds together.
"Dad?"
Charles's voice echoed in Mike's mind.
"Hey, I'm fine." Mike responded. "Keep up the act, don't let Hope's dad notice."
"Oh!"
Charles sniffed, wiping his nose. As he watched Hank and his daughter approach quickly, his tears started flowing again.
"Geez! This kid... what talent..."
Mike silently gave a thumbs up in his mind.
"Quick, get him to the hospital!"
Hank Pym squatted down to assess Mike's injuries, trying to reassure Clark and the others. "Don't worry, he's just been knocked out by the electricity."
"I'll go find help!"
Hope called out and quickly ran off.
A moment later, Mike was escorted to the hospital by a school security guard, with Clark, Hank, and Hope following behind.
Hank Pym had intended to accompany them, but seeing the Spark lying unconscious on the ground, he stayed behind to handle the situation at the school.
After some time, the police arrived, and Hank, as a key witness, was taken along with the Spark.
However, before the police could ask Hank about what had happened, a group of special individuals arrived at the station and took over the case.
Watching as his subordinates led the Spark away, a tall, elegant woman entered the interrogation room.
Peggy Carter.
Captain America's old love, now nearing her seventies, but still full of grace and strength. Her long, wavy hair, streaked with gray, cascaded over her shoulders, adding a touch of feminine charm to her formidable presence.
"Hank."
"Peggy."
The two exchanged a simple greeting, with none of the warmth or familiarity one might expect between old friends and war companions.
Peggy Carter couldn't help but speak up. "Hank, aren't you going to return to S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
"Hah!" Hank Pym smirked sarcastically. "Return? So you can sneak behind my back and do something like stealing my research?"
A brief flash of embarrassment passed across Peggy's face. "They just want to use your research for..."
"Stop!" Hank raised his hand, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "They? Don't pretend you don't know!"
"Sorry."
Hank stood up, saying, "Don't come looking for me. My company and I will be moving out of here soon."
With that, Hank turned and walked out.
