MARVEL -BLACK SPIDERMAN

Chapter 70: Chapter-70 The Untouchable Truth

The stillness of night blanketed the streets as Peter Parker exited the corridors of the New York Presbyterian Hospital. A small bag of medication was clenched in his hand. It was the same as before—targeted inhibitory drugs prescribed by Dr. Ryan after yet another inconclusive examination.

Despite Peter's concerns, Dr. Ryan had found no significant changes in the alien embryo within him. No anomalies or deviations that could provide answers to his predicament. The doctor, perhaps in an attempt to be helpful, suggested that Peter try dating a girl to lighten his mental burden.

The advice, though well-meaning, was dismissed outright by Peter. Such trivial suggestions had no place in his chaotic reality. At least the physical discomfort from earlier had somewhat subsided, allowing him to leave the hospital without delay.

Meanwhile, in another part of the hospital, Dr. Antonia Aguilar, a skilled and diligent surgeon, had just completed her shift. She stretched her arms and sighed, grateful for a rare, lighter workload. In contrast to the exhausting days before, tonight seemed almost serene.

After filing away her paperwork, Antonia leaned against her office window, staring out into the night. Just as her thoughts began to wander, a familiar figure caught her eye.

"Is that Peter Parker?"

Her gaze followed the young man as he passed by the hospital's exterior walkway. Something about him made her pause. His stride, though steady, seemed strained, as if each step carried an unseen weight.

Peter, as if sensing her eyes on him, turned briefly to meet her gaze.

A cold shiver ran down her spine. His stare wasn't just the glance of a high school student; it felt predatory, as if a beast was momentarily peering through his boyish exterior.

Antonia shook her head, trying to dismiss the uneasy feeling. Peter Parker was one of the most enigmatic patients she had encountered—mature beyond his years and shrouded in a veil of mystery.

Still unsettled, she moved to her desk and opened the hospital's internal records system. Logging in with her credentials, she accessed the account of Dr. Ryan, Peter's attending physician. If she was going to make sense of the boy's peculiarities, this was the place to start.

Her search, however, yielded nothing. There were no files, no treatment logs, and no prescriptions under Peter Parker's name.

Frowning, she double-checked the spelling of his name, entering both "Peter" and "Parker" separately. Still nothing. It was as if Peter had never been a patient at the hospital.

Sitting back in her chair, Antonia's mind raced. Why would Dr. Ryan go to such lengths to erase Peter's medical records? What was he hiding?

She recalled stories she'd heard over the years—rumors of doctors secretly collaborating with criminal organizations to sell organs or bodies. Such tales, while unsettling, were not entirely baseless.

Could Dr. Ryan be involved in something like this?

Antonia hesitated. Reporting him without evidence would be reckless and likely fruitless. Yet, ignoring the situation could mean allowing harm to come to patients like Peter—or worse.

Her resolve hardened. She would investigate on her own, no matter the risks.

As the clock approached midnight, the hospital grew quiet. Staff trickled out, and the building settled into an eerie stillness.

Dr. Ryan had already left for the night, driving home without a second thought. But Antonia remained behind, determined to uncover the truth.

Earlier that day, she had discreetly borrowed Ryan's ID badge. Now, under the cover of darkness, she swiped the card to access his office.

The room was neat and professional, but Antonia's sharp eyes immediately began scanning for anything unusual. She booted up Ryan's computer and delved into his files, but nothing incriminating appeared on the surface.

Undeterred, she turned her attention to the filing cabinets. She meticulously combed through the folders, and after what felt like an eternity, she found something buried at the bottom of a drawer.

The file was wrapped in plastic, its placement suggesting Ryan didn't want anyone to find it. Antonia carefully removed the cover and opened the folder.

Inside were photocopies of CT analysis reports. While it wasn't unusual to keep such records, the presence of these specific files struck her as odd. Most CT data were stored digitally, with only essential results summarized in patient files.

Why had Ryan gone out of his way to keep these copies?

Her pulse quickened as she studied the contents. The scans were unlike anything she had seen before.

A tumor? No, this wasn't a tumor. The data revealed something far more complex—an organ-like structure growing within a human body, intricately connected to surrounding tissues.

Antonia flipped through the pages, her disbelief mounting. The growth wasn't merely parasitic; it appeared to function symbiotically, as if it were adapting to the host.

The deeper she read, the more questions flooded her mind. Whose scans were these? Could they belong to Peter Parker?

Her hands trembled as she turned to the next page, desperate for answers. The realization struck her like a lightning bolt.

This wasn't human.

The organ's structure and activity defied everything she knew about biology. It was alive, evolving, and terrifyingly alien.

Suddenly, the sound of the office door creaking open shattered the silence.

Antonia spun around, clutching the file. Dr. Ryan stood in the doorway, his face a mixture of shock and fury.

"Dr. Aguilar, what are you doing here?"

His voice was low and measured, but the tension in the air was palpable.

Antonia hesitated, caught red-handed. "I… I was looking for answers," she admitted, her voice steady despite the situation. "You've been erasing Peter Parker's records. Why? What are you hiding?"

Ryan's expression hardened. "That is none of your concern, Dr. Aguilar. What you're doing right now is a serious breach of protocol. You had no right to enter my office, let alone go through my files."

Antonia straightened her posture. "You're right. I crossed a line. But I had to, because whatever you're involved in could endanger patients—and I refuse to stand by and do nothing."

Ryan's eyes flicked to the file in her hands. Panic flashed across his face.

"Put that down," he said, his voice rising. "You have no idea what you're dealing with."

Antonia tightened her grip on the file, her suspicions confirmed by his reaction. "Then explain it to me. Tell me why this—" she gestured to the scans—"exists. Tell me why Peter Parker is at the center of all this."

Ryan took a step closer, his expression desperate. "You don't understand. This is beyond medicine, beyond anything we've ever seen. If you keep pushing, you'll only put yourself in danger."

Antonia refused to back down. "If that's true, then I have even more reason to uncover the truth. Whatever this is, it's not just a medical anomaly—it's a threat. And you're hiding it."

Ryan's shoulders slumped, the weight of the situation bearing down on him. "Dr. Aguilar," he said quietly, "some truths are untouchable. The more you know, the more you risk. For your sake, I'm begging you—leave this alone."

But Antonia knew there was no turning back. Whatever secrets Ryan was keeping, they were too dangerous to remain hidden.

As the two doctors stood in a tense standoff, the shadows in the office seemed to grow darker, as if the very fabric of reality was unraveling around them.

And in the distance, Peter Parker walked the empty streets of New York, unaware that the untouchable truth of his existence was inching closer to the light.
