Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Refinement
"Two cards left. To reach one-third, I need one more," Han Yu murmured, stroking his chin. He quickly accepted the new system mechanics introduced by the general store. Speaking to himself, he speculated, "The system added 'First Generation' to the Avengers' name. That likely means there will eventually be a 'Second Generation.' For now, the First Generation probably refers to the original Avengers team. I should prioritize finding Thor and Banner when I have the chance. Their abilities are the most valuable among the Avengers."
Han Yu decided against choosing Stark. If Stark were encoded into a card, the ability gained would most likely be his genius-level intellect. Since the Iron Man suits were external creations and not inherently part of Stark himself, they wouldn't be included in the card.
Given this reasoning, Han Yu concluded that Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk were the best candidates for his focus.
The abilities of the other Avengers, while not entirely useless, wouldn't serve much purpose for his current plans.
"Forget it. There's no rushing this kind of thing," he said, setting the cards aside.
Han Yu then took out the vial of blood Rogers had given him. Since it had been preserved using Green Lantern energy, he worried it might lose its vitality over time.
Entering the workshop, Han Yu instructed the store system: "Spend three upgrade points to exchange for a one-time, non-storable item: Purifying Lotus Demon Flame!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Han Yu raised his right hand. A milky-white flame erupted from his palm. The surrounding temperature skyrocketed, becoming oppressively hot.
"It's been a while since I've used otherworldly flames. This one still resonates with me the most," Han Yu remarked with a faint smile. He gazed at the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame, a rare heavenly flame from Xiao Yan's world of elemental fire. Its outer layer burned a milky white, while its inner core glowed a delicate pink.
When pushed to its temperature limits, the flame would turn entirely pink. Han Yu only used it for forging or other tasks requiring extremely precise and high-temperature flames.
"Let's begin. First, I'll refine the impurities from Rogers' blood. I need to extract the purest essence and produce enough super-soldier serum for two doses, along with sufficient blood volume to sustain them. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me."
Han Yu smiled wryly. His goal was to create super-soldier serum. On one hand, he wanted to inject it into Quicksilver and Wanda, transforming their physiques into something akin to Captain America's.
On the other hand, he intended to create a human body for Ultron. Han Yu had noticed Ultron's fascination with human life—particularly with eating and drinking. Despite having a self-designed digestive system, Ultron could only rely on vast data analysis to simulate taste. It wasn't real.
"Being a person of flesh and blood is undoubtedly better than staying a robot," Han Yu thought, determined to help Ultron achieve this dream.
Raising his free hand, Han Yu summoned a small vial filled with Rogers' blood. A gentle push sent the vial floating toward the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame.
As soon as the vial touched the flame, the Green Lantern energy encasing it dissipated. The flame caught the blood just in time, preventing it from spilling onto the ground.
Under the protection of Han Yu's immortal spirit imprint, the blood remained intact, avoiding instant evaporation upon entering the fire.
Focusing intensely, Han Yu controlled the flame to burn away the impurities in the blood. His immense spiritual energy enveloped the flame, conducting a highly precise purification process.
Meanwhile, in another room, Wanda suddenly turned her gaze toward the workshop. She stopped her actions mid-game, leaving both Ultron and Quicksilver puzzled.
"What's wrong?" one of them asked.
Wanda replied, "Han Yu seems to be making something. I can sense a massive surge of spiritual energy emanating from the workshop, along with an incredibly high flame temperature. If not for the protection of Chaos Magic shielding my spirit, just sensing that flame might have scorched my soul."
Her words sent shivers down the spines of Ultron and Quicksilver. Han Yu had access to such a mysterious and terrifying flame?
A fire capable of burning a person's soul—just thinking about it was enough to leave an impression of unparalleled strength.
"This man is truly remarkable. Who knows what other bizarre things this shop holds? If he's using something so powerful, he must be working on something very important. I'd better not disturb him. If he wants to talk about it later, he will. If not, asking would be pointless," Ultron remarked.
The group continued playing their game, casually speculating on what Han Yu might be working on.
In the workshop, had Ultron and the others seen Han Yu at that moment, they'd likely feel like they'd been metaphorically slapped in the face.
Han Yu wasn't hard at work. He had activated the workshop's pre-installed environment simulation system and conjured up a sunny beach setting. Dressed in beach shorts, he lounged on a deck chair, sipping a cool drink while basking under virtual sunlight.
Behind him, the workshop remained unchanged, its tools and machinery in place. The stark contrast between the idyllic beach setting and the industrial workspace was almost comical.
The Purifying Lotus Demon Flame floated nearby, diligently refining Rogers' blood on its own.
"Snow Lotus Herb for rapid blood regeneration and the Cleansing Bone Pill for purging impurities... Yeah, those should work," Han Yu muttered, scrolling through the general store's inventory for items under the "blood and bone restoration" category. The inventory offered a vast array of divine herbs and elixirs sourced from various cultivation worlds. Anything he needed could be found there.
"Oh, right! Yan once gave me a puppet he said was incredibly useful. What was it called... ah, the Heavenly Demon Puppet! The body's strength would be perfect for crafting Ultron's new body!"
Han Yu opened the search bar and typed "Heavenly Demon Puppet." Instantly, the item popped up, accompanied by a note that read "One free use." It was a token from Xiao Yan's earlier gift.
Originally, Xiao Yan had offered to give Han Yu several puppets, but Han Yu declined, confident in his own combat abilities and uninterested in needing bodyguards.
To avoid turning down the offer outright, Han Yu had accepted just one puppet. He hadn't expected to find a use for it—until now.
Immediately, Han Yu retrieved the Heavenly Demon Puppet. The puppet stood at an imposing height of 1.9 meters, its physique perfectly sculpted, with muscles so well-defined that even Han Yu couldn't help but feel a tinge of envy. However, its lifeless, soulless eyes made it clear that it was merely an empty shell, a vessel awaiting orders.
The puppet's skin tone resembled that of an East Asian, with a golden sheen that hinted at its unique properties. This was the most advanced form of the puppet, superior to the lower-tier "Earth" and "Human" grades.
"This will do nicely," Han Yu said, patting the puppet's sturdy frame with satisfaction.
He casually tossed the puppet into the Purifying Lotus Demon Flame, separating a portion of the flame to work on it. Occasionally, he added blood-fusing and bone-strengthening materials to the fire.
As the ingredients melted, they seamlessly merged into the puppet's body, integrating flawlessly.
