Marrying Wives and Attaining Immortality in a Chaotic World

Chapter 322: The Final Battle

Chapter 322: The Final Battle

The Goddess of Time felt a deep sense of unease. “Master, you…”

“Supreme One, please reconsider!”

Xu Lian joined in the plea.

Some words were hard to utter. The indescribable Supreme of the Divine Thunder Sect , at the peak of his prime and at the zenith of his career as a Supreme, stood in stark contrast to their aging master, who was on the brink of dissolving into the Dao. To put it bluntly, this battle held no suspense-it was nothing short of a death sentence.

“Supreme One, you must not do this!”

“We implore you, Supreme One, to reverse your decision!”

As expected, everyone from the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands strongly opposed the fight. This battle held no meaning, nor would it yield any fruitful outcome.

The Elder Supreme emerged from the stone chamber above the thirty-third stage. It seemed that he wanted to prove that even in his twilight years, he still possessed strength. His decrepit body radiated an overwhelming aura of supremacy that blanketed the entire Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands . He threw his head back and laughed, a sound filled with acceptance of life and death.

“Rather than withering away in creepy transformations as my lifespan dwindles, I’d rather die gloriously in battle. My mind is made up; there is no need for further discussion. For now, the Time Supreme will temporarily assume the position of Nine Heavens’ Supreme and take charge of the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands . With that, I can rest easy.

“This battle is purely a personal vendetta between me and the Supreme of the Divine Thunder Sect. It has nothing to do with the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands. If I fall in battle, no one from the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands is to seek revenge against the Divine Thunder Sect, to avoid sparking a war between our sacred sects.

“The Supreme Time cannot intervene in this battle on my behalf. If she does, it will be considered a defiance of my orders, and I will die with eternal regret”.

With that said, the Elder Supreme took a step toward the direction of the Divine Thunder Sect, his immense presence sweeping forward like a tidal wave.

The Goddess of Time followed, deeply worried about her master’s safety. Xu Lian and many elders from the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands also crossed through space, arriving at the location of the Divine Thunder Sect .

Although Xu Lian had heard of the Divine Thunder Sect countless times, this was his first visit to their stronghold. And indeed, it was impressive. Purple mist swirled around, thick with spiritual energy, enveloping ninety-nine peaks, giving the place an air of mystery. The Divine Lightning Palace floated above these peaks, suppressing the spiritual energy of the area and preventing it from dissipating.

With such a dense spiritual energy, cultivation here was undoubtedly much faster than in ordinary places. In fact, every major faction, even the mid-level ones, had ways to trap spiritual energy and create an environment more conducive to cultivation. For example, the thirty-three small worlds of the Heavenly Mystic Sacred Land could contain spiritual energy. Similarly, the giant sword of the Sword Pavilion had the ability to attract spiritual energy. Even the massive dams of the Thirteen Clans served the same purpose – to prevent “fertile water from flowing out”.

“Junior of the Divine Thunder Sect , come forth for battle!”

The hoarse voice of the Elder Supreme shook the heavens. He called from high above, not wanting to rush in recklessly. He had only come here for his final battle before dissolving into the Dao, and he did not wish to escalate the situation.

If he were to charge in without restraint, causing countless disciples of the Divine Thunder Sect to perish, it would spark a full-scale war between sects. At that point, the hidden depths of the Divine Thunder Sect would emerge, and the conflict would become uncontrollable.

This was similar to the time when three Supremes from the Divine Thunder Sect camp descended upon the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands, but refrained from harming its disciples. The reason was simple: if all the disciples, junior members, and future generations were wiped out, it would cut off the roots of the sect, forcing them to unleash their full power and resources.

As a result, confrontations among the top-level factions were usually limited to fights between strong individuals, and junior cultivators were spared. This was a form of protection for the younger generations, since every powerful individual started out as a novice and had countless juniors under their lineage.

Of course, during the wars between the holy sects, everything changed. All hidden powers would be brought to bear, leaving no room for mercy. It would be a fight to the death, with no survivors.

“You are almost at the point of dissolving into the Dao. Shouldn’t you find a Feng Shui treasure site to dig your grave instead of coming here to have me send you away? I’m not your disciple or descendant – I don’t follow that custom,” the indescribable Supreme of the Divine Thunder Sect sneered as he stepped out of the Divine Lightning Palace, his cold gaze fixed on the elder Supreme.

What an annoying way to talk… Xu Lian couldn’t help but grumble inwardly. Just moments ago, this guy had swaggered over the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands, flaunting his power, and now he acted as if nothing was amiss, shamelessly boasting with a face thicker than the walls of a fortress.

The unnamed Supreme of the Dark Moon Sacred Lands and the bizarre Supreme of the Fuyao Sacred Lands arrived in a hurry, their icy gazes fixed on the elderly Supreme and the Goddess of Time. These three were clearly working together, moving in perfect synchronization.

“Didn’t your master always think of me before his death? I give you the chance to fight me.”

The Elder Supreme stared intently at the Indescribable Supreme of the Divine Thunder Sect . He firmly reiterated, “No matter the outcome of this battle, the Nine Heavenly Sacred Lands must not seek revenge, and the Supreme of Time must not intervene on my behalf.

The Indescribable Supreme of the Divine Thunder Sect paused, then burst into uproarious laughter. “Are you serious?”

“Of course,” the elder Supreme replied. “This is my last battle before I dissolve into the Dao. Rather than fade away in pain, I’d rather die gloriously in battle. Either you kill me and fulfill your master’s last wish, or I kill you and weaken the Divine Thunder Sect .”

“Hahahahaha!”

The indescribable Supreme of the Divine Thunder Sect laughed wildly, as though he had just heard the funniest joke in the world. Suddenly, he turned to the Goddess of Time and asked, “Does the Supreme of Time agree?”

Clearly, in his eyes, the Elder Supreme was nothing more than a toothless tiger – no longer a threat. Only the Goddess of Time, the rare Supreme who had survived the Chaos Lightning Tribulation, warranted caution and respect.

The unnamed Supreme of the Dark Moon Sacred Land and the bizarre Supreme of the Fuyao Sacred Land also kept their piercing gaze fixed on the Supreme of Time. A Supreme who wielded the power of laws and had survived the Chaos Lightning Tribulation was unfathomably powerful, far surpassing normal Supremes like themselves.

Especially the unnamed Supreme of the Dark Moon Sacred Land, whose lingering fear caused him to constantly scan the area around the Time Supreme. He was terrified that the four strange entities might reappear. Earlier, one of those entities had bitten into his thigh, leaving a wound that wouldn’t heal. It continued to corrode his flesh, defying every attempt he made to treat it. It had left him with a deep psychological scar.

In some ways, these strange beings were even more terrifying than the Time Supreme. After all, the Time Supreme was still human, and humans, no matter how powerful, could still be injured or killed. But these entities operated beyond logic.

Would the wound continue to corrode until it consumed him entirely? Or worse, could it spread and accelerate his own eerie transformations?

These were grave concerns.

“I will not intervene, and neither will the Dark Moon Sacred Land or the Fuyao Sacred Land,” the Goddess of Time declared, her expression somber. She knew that her master’s resolve was unwavering – he sought death with single-minded determination. No words of hers could change his mind now.
