Making Honkai Impact lll In A World Where Kallen Exists [Continuation]

Chapter 93: Sa's defeat

After a brief exchange, the group quickly returned to the main topic.

After all, a life-and-death battle was still raging over there, and this was no time for idle chatter—they needed to be concise.

Ultimately, it was Vill-V who took the communicator. It was better for her to relay the message.

"Listen, Griseo, you don't need to keep your eyes on Vita all the time. Her… acquiring powers isn't necessarily a bad thing. In the futures we've seen, it's actually the best option for you."

"I've assessed the state of the Ark. Its main functions are intact, but there are quite a few parts in need of repair. The other side… sure knows how to wreck things."

"You might even be forced to stay there for a while. Try to build a good relationship with her. As for Kevin, there's no need for you to worry—he'll handle it. Trust me."

"…Uh, oh, alright, Sister Vill-V. I understand."

Griseo cast a strange glance at Vita. The latter had also clearly heard every word just now. Relieved, Vita exhaled softly, reassured that she wouldn't be discarded after serving her purpose.

For Vita, her abilities were absurdly overpowered, and those four companions of hers were frighteningly strong. Who knew what else might be waiting behind them? It was best not to make them her enemies—she stood no chance against them.

All she wanted was to free this city from the shackles of the gods, nothing more.

She tilted her head, her bright red eyes gazing at Griseo with a somewhat friendly smile. It seemed as though she was signaling her intent to prepare for action, trying to avoid any misunderstandings.

Unbeknownst to her, Griseo saw through it clearly.

Those words were deliberately spoken for Vita to hear, while certain other things would need to be explained to Griseo privately later.

So, she simply nodded lightly and paid no further attention to Vita's movements.

In the Golden Courtyard

In some sense, Luo Mo's decision to bring Kiana and Mei along was beginning to show its effects.

"Boss… this is just insane. Kalpas and Squad Leader are one thing, but why does it feel like Elysia and Kevin are absurdly strong? Especially Elysia—she's also a Herrscher, but the gap is just ridiculous!"

Kiana exclaimed in shock, feeling as though the cheerful classmate she had always teased and played with, a person who shirked her duties and skipped training—had suddenly revealed godlike power that was completely over the top.

Never mind Kevin, she couldn't even defeat the other three.

"Don't think like that, Kiana. Even the Herrscher of the End is still considered a Herrscher, isn't it? Isn't that gap even bigger?"

"Pfft—hahaha," Mobius laughed from the side. Seeing Kiana's gaze shift toward her, she waved her hand dismissively. "Don't mind me. I just thought of something funny."

"Alright, fine. I won't ask what's so funny… But, Kiana, Sa only has about one-tenth of the Herrscher of the End's power—if that. Do you understand what that means?"

Luo Mo patted her shoulder and explained.

"Oh, I get it, Boss. You're saying we should surrender, right?"

Kiana pressed her lips together, feeling even more uncertain. She forced a strained smile as she replied.

"What are you saying? I'm saying the world's salvation depends on you."

Luo Mo encouraged her, trying to boost her confidence.

"Sigh… I understand the reasoning, but the gap is just too big. How can I do it alone…?"

"Who said you'd be doing it alone? Even in the previous era, Kevin didn't fight the Herrscher of the End on his own."

Luo Mo rolled his eyes. Personal heroism wasn't the answer.

"Alright, alright. I promise I'll work hard in the future… But are we not going to see what happens next? Griseo has the communicator, but she can't get inside, can she?"

Kiana stared intently at the screen, burdened by the thought of having to save the world. The pressure was suddenly immense.

Mei quietly placed her hand on Kiana's shoulder. Though she shared the weight of the situation, she also felt a newfound motivation—a sense of purpose and direction for her efforts.

Her determined gaze locked onto the dark clouds in the video, recalling the colossal figure that had once moved within them. Kiana placed her hand over Mei's, warmth and courage flowing between them.

Suddenly, they exchanged a smile.

They would fight for all the beauty in the world.

Meanwhile, on the other side

After passing through the black void, the four warriors found themselves in an even stranger space.

Everywhere they looked was darkness.

The pitch-black glow seemed to consume everything, leaving only the purple seals in place—strangely beautiful in their mystery.

As their surroundings became more familiar, they saw the stars. A brilliant array of stars flickered, with massive star swirls slowly rotating. Occasionally, the perspective shifted to reveal green-tinted planets spinning in the distance.

This was the real universe—and the closest point to the Sea of Quantum.

"Dong—"

The sound of a bell echoed for the fourth time.

Kevin, who had collapsed earlier, raised his right hand lightly, conjuring an ice wall in space for the four to land on.

They quickly spotted Sa, as she made no attempt to hide herself.

Her eyes glowed pink, surrounded by an unnerving darkness. Her purple lips curved into a smile, with long, pure white antler-like branches extending from her ears.

Behind her head, three circles of purple light floated—symbols of divine authority. Around her neck was a mark identical to Vita's, resembling two downward-pointing red arrows.

She held a scepter, which in an instant transformed into a purple-red scythe.

Her long hair spilled out behind her, fading into alternating shades of pink and white at the ends, resembling a Herrscher's ceremonial gown or the wings of a Honkai beast.

She looked like the indescribable gods of myth, though distinctly inhuman.

Beside her were seven petal-shaped purple patterns, four of which were now glowing faintly, heralding an unknown danger that made even the four warriors tremble.

"I am… the law!"

Her serene voice echoed through the void, coldly reaching each of their ears.

Floating, she drifted forward and swung her massive scythe down—straight at Elysia.

Boom—

A massive crater formed on the icy surface as a surge of violet energy erupted outward.

Naturally, Elysia evaded it with her characteristic agility, taking the opportunity during her dodge to fire an arrow that struck Sa squarely in the arm.

This time, however, it was different. Sa's body didn't shatter into crystalline fragments like previous enemies.

Kalpas and Fu Hua no longer hesitated, immediately charging forward. Fu Hua unleashed a series of opening moves from the martial arts of Shenzhou, each landing squarely on Sa's body. Waves of flames erupted with each strike, and Kalpas clashed directly with Sa's scythe, showing no intention of backing down.

"Fight! Fight! Let's have a real battle!! Hahahaha—!" Kalpas roared as he activated his full artificial Honkai state, transforming into an absolute monster.

His body was engulfed in scorching flames, causing the surrounding temperature to rise dramatically. One blow after another, he collided head-on with Sa, refusing to yield even an inch.

"Flowers bloom, flowers fall, and all returns to dust–"

Fu Hua murmured softly. A dense mass of black ink manifested out of nowhere, dripping slowly before merging into Sa's body.

Unfortunately, she had long since lost the clarity of her swordsmanship and could no longer wield the Taixu Divine Sword.

Thankfully, her stigmata granted her mastery over her old techniques, offsetting the losses she had suffered. Gains and losses—it was hard to say which outweighed the other.

"Well then… let brilliance illuminate the earth!!"

Elysia chuckled lightly, twirling gracefully. In an instant, she donned the form they had seen before, radiating the power of a Herrscher. At that moment, her authority burst forth in dazzling light.

The wish for the power of humanity—she seemed unable to summon it again.

However, the Herrscher form was already her strongest state.

Countless beams of light converged, enveloping her in radiant white brilliance. In her palm, there was no longer a pink bow but instead a fully pink scepter.

Elysia waved it with one hand, sending a barrage of scattered ice shards toward Sa. At the same time, an attack charged above Sa, ready to strike.

Kevin, however, didn't act immediately. Instead of focusing on Sa's body, his attention was drawn to the seven petals, their illusory purple glow flowing endlessly. He had already tried to interfere but found no way to stop or alter them.

Sa, unwilling to simply take the attacks, summoned a massive crab-like clawed creation from beneath the ice. It clamped heavily onto Kalpas's body. At the same time, a protective barrier manifested out of thin air, shielding Sa from most of Elysia's ice shard barrage. Several lasers materialized around her, firing before she could react.

Sa's scythe morphed back into a scepter, which she slammed heavily onto the ground. The resulting shockwave forced Fu Hua, who had been attacking at close range, to retreat.

However, Fu Hua's attacks, along with the beams of light descending from above courtesy of Elysia, still struck Sa, slowing her movements slightly.

It was evident that Sa, relying on a single tentacle, wasn't faring as well as she had hoped.

Bang—

An invisible attack landed, aggravating Sa's internal injuries. Violet liquid spilled from her mouth as she wiped it away with her hand, glancing once more at her opponents, and especially at the white-haired man who consistently drew her attention.

He floated silently in the air, gazing at the "bell."

Among the damage inflicted by the three attackers, the pink-haired woman's strikes were particularly significant. Sa's counterattacks paled in comparison.

As the smoke cleared, only craters remained on the battlefield. The three fighters, however, were mostly unscathed.

Without pause, they launched another round of relentless attacks. Sa found herself continuously pushed back. What hurt her most wasn't the physical injuries but the sudden depletion of her energy. The loss she suffered in this single round of combat would take centuries—if not millennia—to recover.

For now, she was reluctant to engage her opponents head-on.

"Clang—Clang—"

Two consecutive chimes echoed from the bell, leaving only one petal untouched.

At that moment, Kevin seemed to notice something. His greatsword swung directly at the "bell." This time, instead of an empty void, it collided with a solid protective barrier.

Just as he thought—it wouldn't remain invulnerable forever.

He struck again and again, confident he still had time.

However, he clearly saw Sa deftly evading most of the attacks from the others. At the same time, the energy within the final petal began accumulating at an abnormal rate.

Time.

It was time—the flow of time had been altered by Sa.

—It's too late.

Kevin's gaze turned cold. He stopped his assault and channeled all his power into his body, transforming it into the ultimate cold.

"The cycle of life and death—Samsara World!!"

With the final chime of the bell, Sa's scepter slammed heavily into the ground, unleashing its full might.

In the name of a god, mortals shall perish.

The power of time manifested fully at that moment. Compared to her previous creations or divine punishments, this attack highlighted the overwhelming power of a deity.

"Infernal demon to the abyss, Tribulation Extinction unleashed!!"

It wasn't the Judgment of shamash—it was the Tribulation Extinction. Kevin enveloped his allies in ice, encasing them in frigid sculptures.

Then, a sea of flames erupted, fully unlocking the power of the Key of God. The entire space was consumed, so powerful that even time itself seemed to fade away.

Red, orange, and crimson flames swept across everything, vaporizing even the ice layers into nothingness.

"Ah—"

In the distance, Sa let out a pained scream. Despite her high resistance to fire, half her body was now scorched and destroyed.

At that moment, Kevin's power—a rule of flames—reigned supreme.

Compared to Kevin, who had been meticulously preparing and defending, Sa's hastily executed attack not only failed but left her at a complete disadvantage. If they had fought evenly, she might have held her ground.

At the brink of annihilation, Sa chose to reverse time to its starting point.

She knelt on one knee, clutching her chest, breathing heavily as she cast a deep, lingering glance at her adversaries.

The ice layers were restored, though the memories remained.

Elysia, Fu Hua, and Kalpas held back, briefly glancing at Kevin before resuming their pursuit of Sa.

Not far away, Sa struggled to her feet. With a casual gesture, she tore open a spatial rift. She needed to retreat and recuperate—a process that might take millennia or even eons.

"Heh—allow me to assist you."

The spatial rift was suddenly sealed with a violet rune, preventing Sa from escaping.

Vita appeared quietly in the space, though the tips of her hair were slightly singed.

She had tried to intervene earlier, attempting to disrupt the divine technique through sheer understanding of its mechanics.

However, what greeted her was a surge of searing flames.

In an instant, Vita chose to retreat without hesitation but still suffered burns to parts of her body.

Could the heroes of the previous era truly endure such an attack? They were monsters, capable of directly clashing with divine authority…

With such thoughts, she still maintained a bright smile on her face.

"Go on, there's just one step left," she said.

"..."

Sa remained silent as she looked at the scene. The seal before her could easily be broken, but there was no longer an opportunity to escape.

Four opponents, each difficult to handle. She couldn't quickly take down even one of them individually.

And now, with so many enemies, and the betrayal of her agent... She was filled with deep hatred.

She was now lying weakly on the icy surface, her indifferent gaze fixed on the group, devoid of fear or dread.

As the white-haired man approached slowly, his inverted greatsword sparked faintly with fire. The cyan wings and horns on his head—since when had he ever seemed human? To fall at the hands of such a person, she had no words.

Kevin gazed at the so-called god before him, their scarlet eyes meeting his azure ones. He raised his greatsword.

The flames were confined to a single area, burning Sa's form to ashes in silence.

Kevin lowered his gaze to the now-empty spot, pausing briefly as if lost in thought, before turning toward his companions.

"Let's go. It's time to return," he said.

His wings slowly folded, and the horns on his head forcibly retracted.

Everything seemed to return to how it had been before.

Gods are not omnipotent.

Gods can indeed be defeated.

And gods will inevitably fall.

Vita watched the departing figures thoughtfully and let out a sigh of lament at Sa's last position.

With a shift of her form, she moved to claim the divine authority left behind.

With Sa's defeat, her tentacles were severed, and her form slowly retreated deeper into the Sea of Quanta. It might take tens of thousands of years, or even longer, for her to recover the energy she had lost.
