"Flameo Serpentine!" Selina released one more flaming snakes to attack the nearest Green Venomous Snake that curls itself around a tree branch.

The flame spell caught the monster on the head and immediately burned it. The snake hissed before it disappeared into thin air. Its core fell to the ground.

"There are surely a lot of slithery folks around us huh. How many Green Venomous Snakes surrounds us currently?" Selina asked as she prepares herself to cast another spell.

"I think there are eighteen more snakes to go. Ten are on the trees ,five crawls around the forest floor, and three hides behind the bushes waiting for their turn to attack." Oz replied.

"Watch out Selina!" Lucien grabbed Selina by the hand and pull her to closer him and Oz. A Green Venomous Snake at one of the trees just spat out some venom which fell to the forest floor. The ground where the venom fell released some smokes as if melting due to it.

"Thanks Lucien! That monster almost got me." Selina said while looking at the snake who attacked her.

"Flameo Serpentine!" Another flaming snake erupted from Selina's wand toward the third snake. It burned the snake to ashes as another core fell to the ground.

"Protectio!" Lucien suddenly casted a barrier. A light blue glow travelled from his wand and it a created a large bubble which encapsulated the three of them within it.

A green colored liquid suddenly hit the newly formed barrier afterwards. The venomous spit evaporated as the barrier glow rejecting the venom's touch. Two snakes crawling on the ground attacked with their spit.

"Nice catch there Lucien!" Oz said as he released a deep breath."we might just have melted if not for your barrier. I cannot imagine myself turning into a juice. Yikes!"

"Okay, here's what we will do guys. I will be in charge of the barrier. You will be the offensive." Lucien said

"Whenever you attack, I'll dispell the barrier. Then I'll put up it again whenever I perceived an attack. Got it?" He added.

Oz raised his wand, "Roger,boss! Oh yes, you will be sorry for those spits you pesky crawlers!"

Oz closed his eyes, "Vinea Vincula!" A light green energy surges from Oz's wand forming large vines that caught the two Green Venomous Snakes around their head. It crawled and wrapped around the snake's body.

"You will taste some warm hug today!"

The vines then tighten around the snake's body before crushing them to nothingness. Two red cores fell to the ground.

"Nice! Fifteen more snakes to go." Lucien exclaimed. "Nope. You won't. Protectio!" One of the snakes tried to hit Selina with its fang. Lucien just casted the barried in time and it send forth the snake flying towards a tree.

**Booogshh

"You want a bite?Let me try it then if you will like this then." Selina muttered

"Flameo Aves!" tiny red sparks form around her in circular pattern like a halo. It then transformed into seven small fiery birds flapping their burning feathers as they hover on air.

Selina pointed her wand towards the snakes. The birds fly zoomed as it fly from Selina's side towards the Green Venomous Snakes. Some snakes attacked the bird by spitting venom on them. They seemed to detect the danger those flapping creatures had with them.

Three of the fiery birds were hit by the green venoms. They sizzle before disappearing into smoke. Some snakes tried to bite the birds remaining birds, but as soon as their body parts touch the them, they are fast sent ablazed.

"Protectio!"

**Spit

"You wicked slithers. Flameo Aves!"

**Bite, bite

"Protectio!"

**Glow. Dispell

"Vinea Vincula!"

"Hasss"

An exchange of attack and barrage of spells occured between Lucien's group and the Green Venomous Snakes. Venoms are flying around the air while blue barriers, flames and vines come back in exchange.

"Are you still okay guys?" Lucien asked panting.

"Yeah. Still good. We got this. Eight more snakes to go!" Oz replied as wipes the sweat around his forehead.

"Hasssss!!!" one of the snakes from the bush suddenly launched itself towards them and whipped them with its tail. They were caugth off-guard.

** Blagggg

It hit the three of them knocking them far from each other.

"Ouchh, ouch,ouch!That hurts you know!" Selina shouted as she was sent rolling over and is now rubbing her back.

"Hey guys, watchout!" Lucien shouted.

Two snakes are now facing Selina, and two snakes also crawled towards Oz. The remaining four snakes decided to go and gang up on Lucien.

" You two want to be hunted so badly huh. Well, I'll give you your wish" Oz grabbed his wand tighter "Terra Gladii!" a trace of swirling green energy spread from Oz's wand towards the ground. The earth beneath him suddenly grumble and from it, four floating swords made of soul and rocks emerged.

"Receive my wrath you pesky giant worms!" The swords went flying to the two Green Venomous Snakes as Oz pointed his wand to them. The snakes wiggle their body to dogge, but swords are fast. Two swords pierced each of them in the head and body. Their core went rolling to the forest floor as they vanish.

"Ahhhh. " Oz's attention is suddenly directed towards the source of the sound. Selina's right leg has been bitten by one of the snakes. Two large smoking wounds had been left by the Venomous Green Snake's Fang. The venom seems to spread as Selina's legs start to change in color.

"Ouchhh...you! You dare bite me?!" Selina said while seating on the forest floor, holding her right leg with her left arm.

"You will be sorry for this. Flameo Sagittae!"

Selina burts in anger as four flaming arrows forms around her. She then pointed her wand to them. The snakes were given no time to react as they just found themselves pierced by the arrows in their eyes.

"Hassss" the snakes hissed.

"Burn, you crazy snakes! Burn!" The flame from the arrows seem to crawled within the snakes as their skins suddenly released some smoke and vapors. After which,they began to bloat and bursted. Their cores scattered on the ground.

"Selina, are you alright?" Oz came running towards Selina to check on her.

"Protectio!" their gaze are now directed towards Lucien who are now surrounded by four Green Venomous Snake. The Green snake simultaneously bite and spit venom towars his barrier. The barrier glows as it counter the attack.

"help...help him Oz. Ahh.." Selina said as sweats start forming on her forehead. Her legs continue to change color.

"Okay. But don't move much Selina. Vinea Vincula!" Oz casted some vine chains around Selina's wound to delay the further spread of venom in her body." Wait here."

Ox turned his body towards Lucien's direction, then he lifted his wand.

"Terra Gladii!" four swords made of soil and stone formed around Oz from the ground."Go!" The swords came flying forth towards the snakes. Only one snake has been successful hit by two of the swords. Two of the swords clashed with Lucien's barrier.

*Bogggsshhh..bangg.. the barrier shakes

"Awww.. sorry Lucien!" Oz shouted as he tries to conjure another spell.

The three snakes got distracted by Oz's sudden attack. Their attention is now divided between Lucien and Oz.

"It's okay. Thanks for the distraction,Oz! Now let me put you into your proper place." Lucien's swirl on his left hand glowed light blue as he focus on his spell.

"Dispell!"

"Fiat Lux!", a beam of concentrated light energy emerged from Lucien's wand as he dispersed his barrier. The beam radiated towards the three snakes. The snakes melted as the beam touched them and sliced them into two.

"Hassssssaaasss", the snakes gave their final hisses before disappearing. Three cores has been added to the red stones scattered at the forest ground.

Lucien hurriedly run to Selina and Oz to check his friend's condition. The two of them kneeling as Selina sits on the ground.

"Hey Selina are you okay?" Lucien asked as his right hand holds her left hand

"Oh, Lucien...the cores. Don't forget to collect the cores." Selina whimpered

"Don't mind the cores for now. You crazy mage! Mind yourself and this wound first" Oz shouted. "What do we do Lucien?"

"Do you know any healing spells? Or maybe, do you have some Antidote potion with you,Oz?" Lucien asked

"Ahh...wait..uhmm..." Oz worriedly check his sling bag.. "not this..this one? No, not this!....sheez.. why is that I always have my potion pack when I don't need it but when I need it the most...sorry...I left it." He sighed.

"Well, I think I know one spell. But it might drain much of my energy. And I'm not sure if it will be a hundred percent effective." Lucien explained. Lucien tried learning some healing spell during his vacant times as he still remembers that moment when Poison Slimes attacked him and Knox by the cliff near their house.

"Just do it! We got your back later! But,Selina first for now." Oz said with a little panick.

"I will have to rely on you guys more later after this." Lucien said. "Are you ready,Selina?"

"Ha ha" with a weakened hand, Selina kiddingly smacked Lucien's arms as Oz tried to give her a hand to maintain sitting

"It is not a matter of being ready or not. I don't have any other choice! Haha. So do what you can. Just don't make me a frog."

The three giggled a little as Selina said her playful remarks despite her weakening status.

Lucien then started to place his two hands hovering above Selina. He holds his wand on his right hand. He then closed his eyes.

A swirl of light blue energy glowed from Lucien's body as he concentrates for the spell.

"Remedium." Lucien gently whispered. A light blue glow emerged from Lucien's swirl mark on his left hand as sparkling glittery golden stuff fall from his glowing wand. The dust fall to Selina and it entered her skin. As the dusts enter Selina's skin, a golden glow envelopes her body.

Sweats can be seen forming around Lucien's forehead and his hands seems to shake a little while he concentrates on the spell.

His magic spell continued for over 30 seconds before it started to take effect. The wound on Selina's leg began to slowly close. The discoloration from the punctures seem to reversed back from where it originated.

"It is working Lucien. It is working!" Oz happily whispered.

"Shhhm. You noisy guy. If I turned into a frog, I'll hunt you with my squeaky chirps everyday." Selina warned as she leans a little on Oz.

Lucien's body wavered little from its height. His arms starting to get tired but he continued to hover it above Selina.

"Remedium!" Lucien whispering casted once more. The light blue glow intensifies as the dust doubled in portion.

The pain on Selina's face is now subsiding. The wounds are also closed. The discoloration now returned to normal.

The light from Lucien's wand stopped as he finished the spell. He opened his eyes,

"Ahhh...you turned into a frog!" He shouted.

Selina playfully smacked him on the face with his teasing remarks.

The three of them leftout a sigh as they fall on their backs to rest.

"Thanks Lucien." Selina said as she relaxed and totally laid her back to the forest floor to recover some strength "I could have been dead by now if not for you."

"You are welcome. I'm glad it worked. But to make sure, let us visit the Infirmary later for them to have a thorough check," Lucien replied.

"Huhu. I thought it is my chance to see you becoming a frog already. Huhu. Maybe next time." Oz said. Selina reach out to him and gave him a smack on the chest.

"Better luck next time, frog maniac!"

The three of them burst into laugh.

"Wait. I still have some Restoration potion here." Lucien took a bottle of yellow potion from his sling bag as he remain in his position. It is still half full. Lucien placed the bottle to his lips and took some of it. He them gave the rest to his two friends.

"Have some Selina and Oz. We need to recover fast" Lucien said as he tried to extend his arms to give the bottle to them.

"Here, let me help." Oz grabbed the bottle of potion and placed it on Selina's lips. The remaining potion disappeared too as Selina's body absorbed it.

"Drink everything up. Don't mind me Selina. I'm still good as new." He said in serious tone.

(What's wrong with this guy?)Selina thought as her cheeks blushed a little.

After 15 minutes, the team have regained enough strength to continue. Oz collected all the cores and placed it into their team's pouch.

"Twenty red cores, huh?Not so bad. Kinda funny to think we almost died just to reach that number. Haha" Lucien laugh a little upon realizing that it is just the beginning of their first activity. "Some dangers might be waiting ahead of us somewhere deeper in the forest. Always be prepared guys and stay alert."

"Thanks,but no need to remind us, buddy. We are always ready to fight! Right, Selina?"

"Oh yeah! You bet!"

The three gave each other a low five before going to the further.

"Let us move forward guys. Time to continue the hunt!" Oz takes the lead towards the deeper part of the Western Forest Area.
