Xavier immediately jumped away from the beast as the frost began covering his body; using his [Wind Stride], he created distance between them, also breaking off the frost coating his body.

Xavier landed a few feet away, shaking off the last bits of ice from his body. His breath was sharp and visible in the freezing air.

The Hydra had stopped moving, its remaining five heads staring at them with eerie stillness.

"Don't stop moving, or you'll end up frozen," Xavier shouted.

Then, without warning, the beast let out a loud, guttural roar.

*ROAR!!*

The ground trembled beneath them as frost rapidly spread across the battlefield, coating the ground in an even thicker layer of ice.

"Move! Don't stop!" Xavier shouted, pushing himself forward before the cold could settle into his limbs.

The Harpy flapped her wings harder, moving away and trying to stay above the icy surface, but even she struggled against the sudden drop in temperature.

Sylve and the Dwarf had to keep running, their feet barely making contact with the frozen ground before lifting off again. Every breath felt like ice scraping against their lungs.

Xavier narrowed his eyes. The Hydra wasn't attacking—it was preparing something to do something, this was just an automatic reaction.

"We need to strike before it finishes whatever it's doing!" he yelled, gripping his sword tightly.

The sword pulsed again, and he felt its hunger growing stronger, but it didn't bother him

The Hydra suddenly lunged its head forward, striking as the group was distracted.

One of its heads snapped toward Sylve. She barely managed to dodge, rolling to the side as the massive jaws crushed the ground where she had been standing.

"That was too close!" she gasped as she immediately stood up.

The Dwarf dashed in to strike the head, but it pulled back before he could strike, and his hammer landed on the ground, cracking it.

Another head went straight for the Harpy who was flying around, but she spun in the air, narrowly avoiding the strike.

The gust from its attack sent her spiraling for a moment before she regained control and soon head open its mouth, but this time it didn't pour out frost; instead, sharp spikes of ice shot out from its mouth.

The Harpy wasted no time casting a wind spell, pushing herself away from the attack, which lodged into the walls of the dungeon.

Xavier didn't wait for any of the heads to attack him.

He dashed forward, using [Wind Stride] to boost his speed. He weaved between two of the Hydra's lunging heads, dodging their deadly fangs as he closed the distance.

His speed, strength, and maneuverability have increased a lot because of the sword, and Xavier had no idea the color of his eyes had changed to bright crimson, the same as the sword.

He leaped. His sword glowed, and with a single powerful slash, he severed two of the Hydra's heads.

Blood sprayed across the ice, sizzling against the frozen ground as Xavier landed, this time the Hydra had to back away from Xavier.

"Holy Flame!" Sylve was waiting for the change as she stretched her staff forward, and two golden lights shot toward both of the heads.

The beam of golden fire shot forward, burning into the wound before the Hydra could regenerate. The beast roared in agony, its body thrashing violently.

"Three more to go!" the Dwarf shouted with a smile on his face, slamming his hammer into the ground.

The Hydra, furious, began moving unpredictably. Its remaining heads attacked without pattern, snapping and lunging in different directions.

One head struck towards Xavier, another towards Sylve, and another tried to crush the Dwarf.

Xavier twisted his body midair, barely avoiding the Hydra's fangs.

He landed on the ice, skidding as he quickly adjusted his stance. His grip tightened around Bloodreaver but the Hydra did let up.

The Harpy was practically useless now; her wind spells couldn't deal enough damage to cut off the head, so even if she cut apart, it regenerated, and since the temperature dropped, she couldn't produce a flame spell.

The Hydra had only three heads, and there were four of them, but it didn't bother to go for the Harpy.

"We need a bigger opening!" Xavier called out.

Sylve gritted her teeth. "We'll have to make one, dwarf run towards me, I'll make a pillar for you to jump away"

Sylve slammed her staff onto the ground. Large stone pillars erupted beneath the Hydra, forcing it to rear back, but it only made it angrier as two of its heads poured out frost while the face facing Xavier reared back.

Sylve created three walls of earth in front of herself as the dwarf charged towards her, dodging the chilling frost of the Hydra.

Soon it stopped as the head of the dwarf suddenly turned towards Xavier.

The Dwarf didn't care as he took his chance, leaping forward and swinging his hammer with all his strength, but suddenly, the head turned around like a whip, hitting the dwarf from the side and sending him into one of the dungeon walls.

*BOOM!!*

The dwarf slammed against the wall and fell down letting go of his hammer as his hands were broken.

"Noo..." The harpy shouted as she flew towards the dwarf.

The other head now faced Xavier, and he had no choice but to dodge; one of the heads was preparing an attack of some sort while the other one was attacking him relentlessly.

Soon, the attack stopped as the other head was ready; Xavier was ready for anything the Hydra was going to throw at him; he had had Mana left, so his [Wind Stride] would be enough to get him out of trouble, but he didn't expect what came next.

The Hydra's throat was glowing an eerie blue. Xavier tensed, expecting another frost blast, ice spike, or anything it had, and once he dodged, he would go for the heads, but instead, the beast launched a massive ice spear straight at him.

It was like Xavier blinked, and the ice was already in front of him. His body moved, but not enough to get him out of the way, but suddenly, a black smoke covered his field of vision.

"Am I dead?"

That was the next question Xavier asked himself.
