Lord of the Foresaken

Chapter 13: Hero vs. Assassin

The battlefield was chaos—flames, steel, and blood.

Lord Ervan's soldiers fought desperately, but the goblins were relentless. Their numbers shrank, but the survivors only grew stronger.

And at the center of it all stood Ervan's Hero.

A man clad in silver armor, his enchanted sword cutting through goblins like grass. His movements were flawless, precise, perfect.

But perfection meant nothing against a killer.

Shia moved through the battlefield like a shadow.

One second, she was hidden among bodies. The next, she was right behind him.

Her daggers flashed—aiming for his throat.

CLANG!

The Hero spun at the last moment, blocking her strike with impossible speed.

Shia's eyes narrowed. Fast.

But she was faster.

She vanished before he could counter, darting behind him again—another dagger strike—

Blocked.

"Tch." Shia clicked her tongue. This one was good.

The Hero exhaled. Calm. Focused.

"You fight well," he admitted. "But you're just a goblin. You can't beat me."

Shia grinned. "We'll see."

And then she got serious.

The Hero attacked first—his enchanted blade glowing blue as it swung.

Shia dodged by a hair's breadth. She felt the heat of the magic barely miss her skin. Too close.

She darted forward, aiming for his exposed ribs—

He twisted, deflecting her strike.

Shia's eyes gleamed. Good reaction time.

She flipped over him, aiming a dagger at his unarmored neck—

Blocked again.

But now? She had him.

His balance was off. His stance was open.

She struck low, fast, ruthless—

Her dagger slammed into his thigh.

The Hero staggered. His expression flickered with pain.

Shia licked her lips. Got you.

She pressed forward—slashing, stabbing, twisting.

The Hero was strong, but too clean. Too predictable.

Shia was wild. Unorthodox. A true killer.

She **ducked under his next swing—**and drove both daggers into his chest.

His eyes went wide.

He gasped. Tried to speak.

Shia just smiled. Twisted the blades.

And whispered, "You lost."

She ripped the daggers free.

The Hero collapsed.

A system message flickered before Reed's eyes.

[Shia Has Defeated A Hero – Evolution Triggered]

[Shia Has Reached Rank D]

The battle was over.

The goblins had won.

Reed smirked.

The world thought Heroes were invincible.

He had just proven them wrong.

And this? Was only the beginning.
