Chapter 5: 6

James was weird after the spar but Daniel decided not to call the redhead out on it. Instead, he told him that he would go home and come back later in the afternoon before the CC opened up and James had given him a thumbs up before promising to have a room ready for him in the hour.

Whilst Daniel appreciated the dedication, he was a bit confused by the change in attitude.

Daniel returned home and had lunch with his mother who was present for the evening, she had asked him all sorts of questions about his new job and he had answered the best that he could without tipping off the fact that he worked somewhere horribly dangerous. He let her know that he wouldn't be around as often and although she was sad about the news, could understand where he was coming from. Especially since both she and his uncle hadn't been around all that much either when they had been working full time.

By the time he returned to the CC compound, he was fresh and washed. He was carrying a bag of clothes and toiletries and James was present to greet him and take him to his private room before leaving him to settle in. The room wasn't too far from the medical bay but it was in a private enough area that people couldn't just go waltzing in. It also had a lock which was a bonus.

The room was simple, it had a queen-sized bed, closet and mirror as well as an ensuite bathroom. Daniel had no idea how James arranged everything so quickly but he wasn't going to question it.

Pulling a newly cleaned white coat over his sleeveless black turtleneck, Daniel was heading out to meet Jay at the medical bay. The nurse was already present by the time he got there and they exchanged pleasantries before they began setting up for the night.

By the time that night was slowly falling, the volunteers had trickled in and they moved from the bay area to the set-up area.

Daniel didn't have a good feeling about tonight's matches. He was on edge and something in his gut told him that something disastrous was going to occur which was telling after the first night of the tournament. The aura of the arena was at an all-time high and people were bursting with excitement.

Goo's booming voice of course had the people even more revved up, James seemed to support it with his own words and Gun was his usual dull self as he spoke in his drawl way. Daniel couldn't even look up at the man, he felt too much shame.

The first match of the night was Jake Vs Ryohei. Daniel felt himself bristle as he caught sight of the blonde Japanese male but he also felt slightly guilty. Despite the ferocious battle between the two, Jake came out victorious and Ryohei was slightly battered and bruised. Not that Jake came out unscratched, his chin was sporting a particularly nasty bruise and his forearm was bleeding.

Daniel allowed Jay to patch Jake up much to the nurse's worry as he approached Ryohei. The Japanese bodyguard had taken a spot furthest in the corner of the medical set-up, teeth-baring at those who dared to approach him yet when his eyes caught sight of Daniel the hate seemed to intensify.

"The hell do you want?" He sneers.

Some worried glances were sent his way but Daniel merely sucked in a breath before standing in front of the male.

"You're hurt, I'm a doctor" He states simply.

Ryohei takes a moment to stare at him in disbelief before laughing harshly.

"Yeah no thanks, I'd rather accept help from a pack of hyenas than someone like you" He sneers again and Daniel watches him with a sad look in his eyes.

"I'm sorry" He tries from a different angle and that catches Ryohei off guard.

"The hell are you playing at?" Ryohei scoffs. "You think I want your apology? Just leave me alone" He scoots away with a glare in his eyes.

"I mean it, I apologise for my words from yesterday…I went too far and I upset you. I'm sorry" Daniel explains. "It was unprofessional of me and by pissing you off it led to you being…reprimanded by Gun. You didn't deserve that" Daniel reaches out to the blonde only for his hand to be slapped away.

"Oh, so that's what this shit is all about? Look I could care less about your stupid, insincere apology. You're only doing it out of guilt and I don't need that shit. You did what you did and I did what I did. Just because you say a couple of pretty words won't mean I'll forgive you which I don't by the way, if anything I think I hate you even more" Ryohei seethes through his teeth and Daniel feels even more crushed. "So piss off, I don't need your medical help or your apology, Reap what you sow because whatever this is, it's pissing me off even more" Ryohei grunts before taking his leave.

The glare in his eyes was filled with even more hatred than before and that didn't sit well with Daniel. Not in the slightest.

Daniel wanted to say something but his words were caught in his throat. He had tried to apologise but that made everything worse.

Deflating in disappointment, the Doctor jumps slightly when he feels a hand on his shoulder.

"Doctor? Are you alright?" Jake asks, both Jay and he were watching him in concern.

"Yeah I'm fine" he responds good-naturedly.

"Ryohei seems like a mean racist but he's not too bad when you look beyond the stupid facade he has up" Jake claps him on the back. "Although most people don't see it and he doesn't warm up to many people, to begin with. Don't let his attitude upset you" Jake encourages and Daniel nods.

"Thanks, Jake, how are you feeling? Are you up for the final match?" Daniel asks, changing the subject.

"Of course, I am," Jake nods with a grin. "I have some vengeance I need to take care of" He responds, eyes narrowing on the brunette that was entering the stage for the next match.

Jake eventually left and Daniel turned to try and focus on the next match. Johan vs Eli, God Dogs vs Hostel. It was a match-up that a lot of people were hyped for but Daniel was worried, especially for Johan.

Yet as the fight began he came to realise that perhaps his worry was misplaced seeing how the two gang leaders were after each other. Daniel couldn't help but gawk at the amount of blood the two males seemed to shed. Had there been weapons allowed, the doctor was sure the two would already be dead. The fight between the two seems to drag on and whilst Eli fought like a beast and was underhanded, Johan seemed to match him with each hit.

"Those moves…are they moves I've seen before from the previous matches? Is this deja vu?" Daniel hums in disbelief.

"Johan's always been able to copy people easily" Mira shrugged but she was biting her lip in worry too.

As the fight seemed to drag on, Daniel could tell that both males were getting tired. How was either of them supposed to move on to the final match all bloodied and bruised as well as both their bodies being exhausted? Eventually, a ring of gasps was let out as Johan aimed a perfect high kick at Eli's neck. It forces the man to stumble backwards before readying himself upwards yet he notices that Johan's fighting stance has fallen.

Confused, Eli cocks his head to the side before looking down at his feet.

"HOSTELS BIG DADDY HAS BEEN KNOCKED OUT OF BOUNDS! GOD DOG JOHAN WINS THE MATCH!" Goo roars and people scream.

Eli's shoulders slump in defeat before nodding at Johan who nods in return. Neither man stayed out in the arena for long, slowly slinking towards the medical bay. Daniel was surprised that both were still mobile after what they had gone through. The Doctor directs Jay towards Eli whilst he heads for the brunette.

"Impressive fight" Daniel grins at the male to show that he was friendly. "Hi, I'm Dr Park, I'll be the one to check over you" he introduces and Johan grunts before nodding.

He doesn't say much as Daniel wraps some of his wounds in bandages. Surprisingly despite all the blood, there weren't that many cuts or open wounds, merely a couple of scratches here and there.

"Your copying ability, it was really amazing to watch" Daniel makes a small conversation with the fighter who hums.

"It wasn't that cool" Johan shrugs.

"No it was, I've never seen someone use so many different martial art types to throw off another fighter, furthermore it wasn't you just using pure force the entire time despite it looking like that. You only attempted to overwhelm Eli so that you could push him backwards until he was over the border" Daniel relays. "It was super smart and effective, Eli didn't even know what was coming since he was so focused on your presence" He slaps the boy's shoulder in a supportive manner before faltering at the embarrassed look on the brunette's face.

"Thanks" He mumbles.

Was the other man embarrassed because Daniel was analysing his fight too intently or because he couldn't handle the compliment? Taking note of the pink ears and how Johan reached up to cover them with his messy mullet, Daniel couldn't help but swoon over how adorable it was. His hands were moving before he could stop himself but soon the Doctor was patting Johan's head fondly.

"Seriously though, your skill is nothing to joke around about. Keep up the good work" And sure, Daniel probably shouldn't be encouraging fights but hell he wanted to see the boy smile. Unluckily, Johan steps away from the head pats and replaces his emotions with a mask before nodding stiffly.

"I'll be heading out now if you're done" Johan states and Daniel nods.

"I know you have a short break before the final match but don't strain yourself too much" And with those final words, Johan was turning to leave.

"How was Eli?" Daniel asks as he turns to talk to Jay who is sending a confused Eli on his way. The silence was probably baffling to deal with but Jay seems to smile in return. "That's good, anyways who do you think is going to win in terms of the final match? Jake or Johan?" He prompts and the blonde takes a moment to think.

"..."

"You believe that they're evenly matched but you prefer to take Jake's side because he's nice? Fair point" Daniel nods before looking over at Mira. "What about you? Who do you think is going to win?" He asks and the volunteer merely sighs.

"I have no idea, Johan is a dear friend of mine but he's changed a lot…furthermore Jake is doing this for revenge, I'm worried" She states honestly and Daniel pats her shoulder.

"Johan's a strong kid, he'll be fine" Daniel reassures her.

The intermediate break didn't go on for too long, after 15 minutes of the founders stalling the crowd and sharing their thoughts about the tournament so far, the match was ready to begin. Both Jake and Johan step out into the field, looking a little worse for wear but both are determined to win. Neither said a word to the other, merely staring silently and waiting for the countdown to start.

Daniel could understand the drive behind Jake wanting to win, wanting to take revenge for Lineman and wanting to be able to challenge one of the founders after what they had done to Big Deal but he didn't completely understand Johan's reasoning. Mira hadn't mentioned much about it but the apprehension radiating from her body as she watched was enough to cause him to worry as well.

The alarm blares out to signal the start of the match and both Jake and Johan don't dance around each other. Both men launch their fists at each other, connecting with each other's jaw harshly. Daniel winced, he could almost hear the clicking of their jaws but remained firmly in his spot. He needed to be alert for the match in case anything happened.

And a lot did happen. There were so many headshots and blood spurting out, that Daniel was cringing as much as he was in awe of the two gang leaders. Any previous fight from before that he thought to be ruthless paled in comparison to what he was watching before. No wonder the CC was so popular and no wonder people were invested enough to make bets. The fights were enrapturing.

Johan pulls out a Taekwondo trick and sends a kick down to Jake's head but the Big Deal leader blocks it with both hands, his feet firmly planted against the ground as it makes him unmoving. Johan's scowl intensifies and Jake smirks before throwing the foot off himself and roundhouse kicking the brunette.

Johan lets out a surprised squawk, rolling to a stop against the harsh floor. Jake didn't let the boy have a break and in the next second, he was throwing a punch straight down to where Johan was on the floor. Luckily, the God Dogs leader swings out of the way and grabs the hand before putting Jake in an arm lock. Eyes widening, Jake realises he is stuck, gasping out in pain as Johan tightens his hold. Johan looked ready to dislocate the arm and just as it looked like it was going to pop out of the socket, something else ignited in Jake as he struggled to stand up, carrying Johan with his one arm.

Daniel gaped as Jake was forcibly bending his arm, overpowering Johan. With his free arm, he starts hurling the fist down against Johan, attempting to get him to let go and the brunette himself winces under the hits. Having no other choice than to let go, Johan drops and rolls away as Jake chases him.

Jake trips when Johan kicks at his ankles but doesn't tumble down, he regains his footing but not in time to dodge the hit that the brunette sends to him.

"Johan's quite versatile" Daniel remarks. "Taekwondo, Jujutsu and now even boxing, did Johan have good teachers growing up?" He asks Mira who shakes her head, looking slightly pale.

"No, his family couldn't afford to send him to anything like that. He only learnt by watching" Mira explains as she winces when Johan is hit again.

By watching? Daniel couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity build up from those words. To be able to watch people and copy their moves…intriguing.

Jake and Johan started boxing it out but at this point in the fight, Jake was getting frustrated. He was losing his cool and despite Johan's scowling, he was still calm. Letting out a roar, Jake lunges forward and punches Johan in the guts with enough force to lift the other boy off his feet. Johan lets out a pained grunt but as soon as his feet are on the floor he darts forward and hits Jake against his jaw.

Both skid backwards, breathing heavily as they glare at each other.

"Yeah, Johan Seong, isn't it about time you give in and give up? Do you think I'm going to let someone like you win? After the shit, your crew pulled against Lineman?" Jake sneers and Johan lets out a heavy breath.

"I do apologise for what happened to your friend but that wasn't my fault" Johan grunts. "You're going after the wrong person" He adds as Jake's glare grows sharper.

"You're their leader, doesn't matter if you took the title only recently. You control your crew and they follow your orders. For the sins of your people, it is you who has to take the punishment. I won't let you win, not after everything that has happened this tournament" Jake growls, stubborn and firm in his words.

Johan takes a moment to pause before letting out a somewhat sad look. Something that Daniel hadn't been expecting.

"Unfortunately, I have to win" Johan admits before the soft look is replaced with a burning fire. Shock encompasses Jake's face as the brunette rushes forward, and lands several hits against his chest.

Jake lets out a couple of pained sounds but catches Johan's fists and throws him backwards. It doesn't deter the God Dog's leader as he continues to lunge forward. Jake was pulling his fist backwards, his legs crouched and ready to send forth all the force he had left.

Daniel sucks in a breath through his teeth, the hit that Jake was readying for wasn't child's play. It would hurt and probably rattle Johan's entire head if it hit him, causing a lot of damage that the Doctor didn't want to have to deal with if he could prevent it. A hand swipes forward and grips Daniel by the shoulder, keeping him in his spot. It was Jay, he was shaking his head before turning back to the fight.

Daniel gapes as Johan's head doesn't make contact with the fist, instead, he spins out of the way and throws his elbow at Jake's head in retaliation. A spinning back elbow strike. And just like that, Jake's body goes crumbling to the floor.

There was a tense moment of silence as people waited for Jake to stand up and for a moment it looked like he would. Daniel watched with bated breaths as the Big Deal leader was struggling up with his forearms, as Johan backed away with his hands raised, ready to continue. But after another second, Jake's body falls back onto the floor.

"AND WITH A SPINNING ELBOW HIT! JAKE KIM IS OUT OF THE MATCH! JOHAN SEONG WINS WITH A KNOCKOUT!" Goo screams into the mic and people follow through.

Within that moment, Daniel orders for a stretcher before he and Jay are out onto the field.

"Mira take care of Johan, Jay help me check out Jake's condition" Daniel orders before sliding down next to the man.

He carefully checks the males' pulse and breathing. All perfectly normal. He sets the man into the recovery position before checking for other injuries. Getting hit by an elbow was particularly dangerous seeing as the elbow was the hardest and sharpest part of a person's body. Impact with the appendage could even cause cuts which was probably why Jake was bleeding from his lip. Jake's jaw was heavily bruised, not just from the elbow but from the multiple previous punches that Johan managed to hit on the same spot. It would most likely be sore and tender for a while.

"Let's carefully get him onto the stretcher. Support his neck and spine" Daniel barks out as two other volunteers and Jay helps lift him. Just as he was settled onto the bed, Jake's eyes fluttered open.

"Huh?" He gasps before letting out a groan. "Did I win?" He asks and Daniel can't help but sigh.

It was good that he was coherent enough to speak and ask but the answer would only let him down.

"Sorry Jake" He simply answers, walking side by side with the stretcher as he keeps a close eye on the male's condition.

Jake didn't need any other words, his eyes simply widened even further before he threw an arm over his eyes.

"Ah, I see" His voice was shaky.

Pity. That was all Daniel could feel for Jake as he was carted out to the medical set-up. Jake didn't say much as Daniel checked him out, touching and prodding his body in areas that he had seen the leader take a hit from. When the Doctor was able to unbutton his shirt and check his arm and shoulders he winced at the dark-coloured bruises that were splatter across the skin.

"The most critical areas that I'm worried about are your jaw and your right shoulder, can you tell me if it hurts a lot?" Daniel questions. "Any sharp pain or stinging?" He continues and Jake shakes his head.

His eyes were watery and rimmed slightly red. No one comments on it, no one has any right to judge him, not after the fight he had gone through. Daniel was sure, that had it been anyone else they wouldn't have been able to make it five minutes into the fight.

"No, just sore" Jake's voice was raw, he kept his eyes down to the floor as Daniel continued with his assessment.

Daniel was still sceptical, especially after how the elder's arm nearly popped out of his socket. Just from the bruising alone, Daniel bandages the shoulder securely in place.

"You're not allowed any excessive movements for a while, I'll need to check up on you again by the end of the week to make sure everything is in order" Daniel hums before patting his shoulder. "For what it's worth, I think you did amazing out there" He leaned down until Jake's gaze met his.

"Johan's a strong opponent, the fact that you weren't down in the first couple of minutes is impressive" Daniel hums and Jake sighs, shoulders drooping with the breath.

"I know, but I still wanted to win. To prove to Big Deal that I am proud to lead them and that I could offer Lineman a reprieve…I guess I just wasn't strong enough in the end" Jake runs his good hand through his hair. Frowning at the sight. Daniel nods.

"Take as much time as you need, just sit here and take a break, Jake. You deserve it" He hums softly in understanding. Daniel didn't have any other words to offer Jake so he stood up and left.

The leader looked like he wanted time to himself anyway.

"Keep an eye on Jake for me, he seems alright but…mentally" Daniel's voice drowns out as he stares at the lone figure on the stretcher, face in his hand as his body is hunched over. Jay reaches out and pats Daniel's shoulder before he nods in confirmation.

Daniel turns to the other fighter, Johan who is busy chatting with Mira. The female had gotten him an ice pack for his bruised side, and the brunette's gaze was surprisingly flickering back and forth between the female and Jake. Something akin to regret was swirling in his gaze before he turned to Daniel.

"How's everything going?" Daniel asks Mira who puts on a brave smile.

"Nothing's broken, I've cleaned the cuts he has but overall there's nothing critical" Mira answers and Daniel nods before turning to Johan.

"Congratulations, that was an impressive fight out there. You held your ground" He remarks and Johan grunts in return.

"Yeah, yeah, thanks Doc" Johan mumbled when the founders were starting to speak again about something after their analysis.

"Let's get back on schedule! Again I'd like to reiterate how amazing our fighters have been not only for the final match but throughout the entire tournament. There were many ups and downs, and the occasional mishaps but we are now nearing the end. With the final match, the victor has been determined. Can Johan Seong please come back to the arena?" James calls and Johan hands the ice pack back to Mira who frowns.

"I'll take it back when I come back, it won't take long," Johan tells her gently before standing up straight and forcing himself to walk properly to the centre of the stage.

The crowd chants Johan's name and he makes a show of smiling and accepting the praises. Big Deal even reluctantly clapped for him despite the obvious show of distaste for the brunette.

"Johan Seong, do you have any words for your victory today? You have triumphed against dozens of other fighters to reach this point" Goo asks and someone rushes out to pass a microphone to the male.

Johan accepts it awkwardly. He didn't like the founders just like most people but wasn't openly hostile to them like others.

"Not particularly" Johan states evenly. "I was confident in my victory from the beginning" He answers.

The crowd started to 'ooh' at his words, making it bigger than it seemed. From Daniel's perspective, Johan didn't mean the words in a taunting or demeaning way. He could have worded his answer better but it was too late at this point.

"I see, you really are a man of few words. You were a man of few words when you overtook God Dogs and you're a man of few words now. So why don't we cut to the chase?" James states as the screen changes.

It split in half, one side showing the founders and the other showing the prize money. Daniel feels his jaw drop open at the number.

10 million won.

"Since you are the winner you are faced with a choice. The opportunity to fight one of us, if you win you will go home with not only the prize money but also the notoriety to be the first to defeat us and other benefits or you may choose to take the money now without the fight. What is it that you'll choose? Make your decision carefully" James advises.

There was a drum roll in the background. Johan's eyes flicker from the leering faces of the founders to the number on the screen before he turns to look at the floor.

"I have my decision," Johan announces into the microphone. "In fact, I already knew my decision before getting myself into this tournament" He adds and the crowd starts whispering.

'Who do you think he'll choose to fight?'

'He'd do alright against Goo or Gun, right?'

'James would be too hard to fight'

'The harder the fight, the better it would be if he won! Don't rule out James'

'No one has won a fight against the founders anyways'

Johan was in no condition to fight. He had already gone through two matches that day alone, both were strenuous and both were against formidable gang leaders. There was no way in hell he would be able to beat any of the founders. Johan was exhausted and Daniel could tell even from as far away as he stood.

"I'm choosing the money" Johan's voice cuts through the crowd.

Barely a second of silence passed before there was an uproar.

'WHAT?!'

'YOU'RE KIDDING? HE TOOK THE MONEY?'

'Honestly, lowkey me too but still, I was itching to see the founders fight'

'What a let down'

'So anticlimactic'

Goo and James look surprised by the words, they both turn to Gun who shrugs and mouths something to James who nods.

"What a surprising choice, but if you're happy with this" Goo eyes Johan who nods. "Alright kiddo, the money will be transferred to you within the next 3 business days"

Johan gives a sceptical look and it's James who chimes in to reassure the male.

"If it doesn't transfer, you're allowed to publicly complain and sue us for it" James reassures and Johan nods. With that, he turns around and stalks out of the arena and back to where Mira stands.

"Oh, Johan" Mira coos as she steps forward to his side.

"Told you it'd be quick" Johan mumbles as he takes the ice pack and presses it against his sore side before he's walking towards Jake who was staring at him with unreadable eyes.

The brunette stood there for a moment before he was speaking again.

"How much was Lineman's medical bills?" He asks and Jake gapes.

"Excuse me?"

"His medical bills, I'll pay for them" Johan points to the screen outside. "I've got the money for it now anyways" He states and Jake's surprised face turns dark.

"If the only reason you took the money was so you could pay us back then you can take that money and shove it far up your as-" "I'm not trying to offend you" Johan cuts in, biting his lip as he stares at Jake with an unreadable look.

"What are you trying to do, Johan?" Jake bites out.

"Like you said. I'm God Dog's leader and I didn't keep my men in check which led to the situation with Lineman. For that I do apologise for it, my men will be reprimanded, the guy who did it is facing police charges for attempted manslaughter, the least I can do as their leader is pay the medical bills. Let me do that at the very least" Johan states evenly, maintaining eye contact with Jake to convey that he meant the words sincerely.

"We don't need your pity, you could have taken the opportunity to fight one of those bastards out there. Do you know how many people who have been wronged by them would have died for such an opportunity?" Jake hisses and Johan nods.

"I know"

"You could have done it, Kid. You could have taken one of those righteous bastards down" Jake continues and this time Johan snorts.

"You have too much faith in me, you know you're not the only one who's injured after our match" Johan raises the ice pack. "I wouldn't have been able to beat any of the founders. The purpose of organising a match with them straight after the finale is because we are at our weakest, that's why they've always won. If I lost then I wouldn't have been able to take home the money" Johan reasons.

"You didn't need to pay us anything" Jake grumbles unhappily.

"You're not the only one who needs the money" Johan shakes his head and at this admittance, Jake raises a brow. "I…I need it…for my mother" he whispers and Jake's eyes widen in shock.

"Oh," He replies smartly.

"But I'll still pay you the money that you're owed. I don't like being in debt with anyone so you'll get the money whether you accept it or not" Johan states stubbornly.

There was a tense moment where Daniel thought Jake would hit the kid but he didn't. Instead, he chuckles.

"You're really hard-headed aren't you?" Jake smiles and Johan shrugs.

"I guess so," Johan mumbles.

Relaxing after realising there wasn't going to be a fight, Daniel turns to see Mira smiling at the display.

"The crowds are not happy" One of the volunteers mutters and Daniel turns to see the shouting and screaming people.

They wanted a fight. They had been expecting a fight. One that was between Johan and any of the founders. It was what they had paid for but unluckily Johan had defied everyone's expectations and now the CC was having a hard time handling it.

"There's an uproar, even the people watching through the stream are upset" Someone laughs at the chaos unfolding.

Johan looked guilty for being the cause but there was little the brunette could do now. Some members in the seats were getting rowdy, protesting and jumping up to shout out a piece of their mind. Daniel didn't want to have to treat crowd members as well as fighters.

Gun, Goo and James were discussing something before eventually, they were speaking again.

"Alright everyone please settle down" Goo attempted to calm the crowd but most weren't listening.

"Sit your asses down unless you want to be escorted out and banned from the CC!" Gun barks and instantly people quieten down. After Gun was finished glaring at the crowd, he turned around to allow James to speak.

"We thank you for your patience. We understand that most of you were expecting an epic showdown but alas it has not worked out this way. To rectify this we've decided to allow for a last-minute challenge to take place seeing as we still have time to do so today. If any of the 8 fighters that made it to the one-on-one matches would like to challenge someone else, do so now" James announces and the excitement builds up again.

'I'd love to see a rematch between Johan and Eli'

'Samuel vs Ryohei is always fun to watch'

'Warren redemption arc please, Gangdong's mighty fighter needs a win under his belt'

People began whispering and Daniel frowned. It was impromptu but the crowd seemed pleased at the prospect of one more fight.

"I'll do it" A voice calls out from above the crowd. The spotlight shifts to shine over Ryohei who stood up in his seat, lazily smirking at the camera before he hops over the rails and lands in the arena.

"Mad Dog, Ryohei Karuda takes to the stage!" Goo shouts and people cheer the blonde on. "And who would you like to challenge?" He asks.

Daniel suddenly felt very sick. Ryohei wouldn't do that…would he?

The Japanese male steals the microphone, a sharp smile on his lips as he stares back at the founders.

"Are there any rules against who I'm allowed to challenge? This is a very sudden match after all and none of the other 7 fighters who made it to one on one fight seems to be very interested in this match against me seeing as none of them has shot up out of their seats to volunteer" The camera pans from Vasco to Warren and Eli to even Samuel, None of them looked interested but at Ryohei's words it seemed to piss them off.

"I guess you're right about that. I mean as long as the fight is interesting I'm sure you can have your pick of the fighter. Whether they accept it is on them" Goo responds, his brow arched at Ryohei's words.

"Good because the person I want to fight" He points a finger into the crowd, spinning around in a way to get the watchers on the edge of their seats. The finger comes to a stop and Daniel swallows harshly. "Is none other than our new resident Doctor" He grins manically.

Whispers and shouts of surprise were thrown into the air and Daniel could only stare back at Ryohei's gaze. The blonde hated him this much? Even after he tried to apologise? Was his pride that wounded?

"You think I forgave you for what you said to me, asshole? I'm going to ruin that pretty face of yours just to teach you a lesson in keeping your mouth shut" He sneers.

The majority of the people were confused by Ryohei's words but those who knew could only watch Daniel in worry. Daniel tears his gaze away from the blonde, moving it towards the founders. Goo looked like he was panicking and attempted to tell Ryohei that he should pick someone else, Gun was frowning disapprovingly. He looked seconds away from snatching the mic and telling Ryohei to back off. James on the other hand…

Well, he smiled. No, he even lets out a chuckle.

"I'll allow it" James states, causing the people in the arena to gape at the male. "But of course, the final decision is up to Doctor Daniel Park, would you like to participate?" James asks and Daniel doesn't know how to answer.

Sure James was able to have a taste of how Daniel fought but he could hardly say that he was strong enough to defeat a gang leader. It didn't matter who trained him or who his uncle was. He wasn't a fighter he was almost the complete opposite. He was a Doctor for crying out loud. He saved lives, he didn't take them.

It was against his moral code. Ethically he should say no, no matter how hard the crowd would have booed him or how pissed off Ryohei would have been. He might have been deemed a coward but that wouldn't matter because he was NOT a fighter. But the thoughts of Ryohei's continuing resentment building until the blonde decided to release it differently made Daniel pale.

The blonde was challenging him in the arena. How long before he was challenging him outside on the streets instead? How long before he didn't challenge him and instead decided to fight Daniel when his back was turned? Was this the safest option he had going forward? It was at that moment that Daniel understood the difference between controlled and chaotic violence.

"Daniel, don't do it. You can walk away" Jake calls. "He's just pissed off, whatever Ryohei is angry about it's not worth it" He reasons.

"He's right. You're not obligated to fight or put up with his anger" Mira adds.

Jay placed a firm hand on his shoulder, the nurse looked ready to take Daniel's spot and step out onto the arena himself but Daniel couldn't have that even if it was oddly sweet of the blonde.

"I'll do it" Daniel sighs as he slides out from their hands and walks to the arena. A ring of surprised cheering settles into the crowd as Daniel bravely approaches the centre. Goo was watching in open shock, Gun looked on in continued disapproval as he shook his head but James was calm.

Ryohei points the microphone at Daniel, raising a brow tauntingly as he didn't allow the Doctor to hold it.

"I accept if it will mean that you'll get off my back and be a little nicer to people" Daniel sighs and Ryohei's eyes flash with anger.

"Oh, I'll be nice alright" RyoheI pulls the mic to his lips, and he grins viciously at Daniel. "This is going to be fun" He throws the mic to a person before he's getting ready to fight.

Daniel was tense in his spot, eyeing Ryohei critically. The blonde was practically bouncing in his spot, excited to show Daniel his place in the world that was beneath him. He couldn't let himself get nervous, no matter how intimidating the situation was, he had to remain calm and level-headed. At the very least, he wanted to keep injuries to a minimum, how was he supposed to be a Doctor if he too was incapacitated?

The countdown reached the end and a siren was let off to signal the start of the sudden match. Ryohei didn't wait.

Daniel barely had time to dodge the fist that flew to his head but he did so which was a feat in itself. It seems to amaze the Japanese bodyguard. Ryohei's eyes widen slightly before narrowing again, he sends another fist, and Daniel weaves away, pulling his hands up to protect his head and ribs. Daniel had practised a bit of boxing with his uncle, when the elder wanted to blow off some steam he was always his partner in the ring. Jinyoung seems to do a range of different mixed martial arts, all that he seemed quite good at.

Daniel ignores the thoughts as he focuses on the fight in front of him. Ryohei wasn't playing around, with each hit he was putting 100% behind all of it. He was fighting to maim which scared Daniel slightly, although he couldn't let it show. The second that Ryohei noticed that Daniel feared him, he was sure the blonde would use it.

Daniel narrowly dodges a right hook before jumping away, putting some space between him and his opponent who was glaring intensely at him.

"DOCTOR PARK HAS DODGED ALL OF RYOHEI'S PUNCHES THUS FAR, DOES THE DOC HAVE A SECRET SIDE TO HIM THAT IS MORE THAN JUST BEING A MEDICAL GENIUS?" Goo commentates from the sides, practically screaming into the mic in open amazement.

"Huh, Doc you've got some skill," Ryohei remarks with a laugh, one that sounded slightly unhinged. "Maybe you weren't all talk after all or perhaps this is just beginner's luck" He hums and Daniel frowns.

"We don't have to do this" Daniel replies.

"And blue ball the viewers? Let's not" Ryohei barks before lunging again.

Daniel didn't want to hurt the other but if he kept remaining on the defensive then he would tire out and the other man was going to get the jump on him. He needed to do something.

"Come on Doc! You're boring everyone here!" Ryohei shouts as he goes for a straight punch but just as Daniel was going to dodge it, the blonde switches moves and aims a kick at Daniel's other side, hitting him in the side.

Daniel stumbles to the floor with a pained grunt.

"RYOHEI SENDS DOCTOR PARK TUMBLING WITH A FAKE PUNCH TURNED INTO A SPIN KICK!" Goo's commentary was not helping in the slightest.

Not only was that a vicious kick but Ryohei had made sure to dig his toes into Daniel's side. He was definitely going to have a couple of bruises after this. The Doctor was expecting Ryohei to come after him as soon as he hit the floor but surprisingly he didn't. Looking up he noticed that Ryohei was grinning at him expectantly.

"Awe is the baby Doctor going to start crying? You gonna run home to mommy to complain about how cruel the real world is?" He taunts and Daniel frowns at that. "You know, I wonder how proud your mother would be if she could see you now, battered and bruised on the floor in the middle of a fight like this after you talked yourself into this shit. Would she be upset or angry? Is she as bratty-mouthed as you are or worse? I'm sure the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!" He roars, throwing his head back a he laughs as if he made an amusing joke.

Daniel's blood runs cold at the mention of his mother. He didn't care if people bad-mouthed him, he could take care of himself. Yet the moment they started to mention his mother it was a different story. Daniel pulled himself upright, his hands curled into fists at his side as he was trying to restrain his anger. He had to remain level-headed, he had to be reasonable.

"Awe is someone mad? Are you mad because I insulted your good-for-nothing Mommy?" Ryohei continues. "By all means, if getting you angry means you'll put up a good fight and go all out then I'll continue, I know that I sure as hell won't be holding back"

"Shut your mouth" Daniel grunts out loud. Steeling his nerves and pushing away his pain, he glares at Ryohei.

"What was that? Did you suddenly grow a pair?" Ryohei remarks crudely only for the smirk to fall off his face as his body hits the floor.

Pain envelopes his face and neck as he shouts, surprised by the pain. Rolling to a stop he crouches upright before staring back at Daniel who was staring down at him menacingly. The leg he had used to kick Ryohei falls back to Daniel's side but that didn't mean the Japanese male didn't notice how perfect the form had been.

"T-THAT WAS…WAS THAT JASON YOON'S SIGNATURE HOOK KICK MOVE? HOLY SHIT!" Goo screams over the speakers.

"Goo shut up, that move doesn't belong to the Jeju Stallion it belongs to Taekwondo" James sighs, tired of having the blonde scream in his ear so he shoves Goo away from the mic. "So not only does our resident Doctor know how to dodge and weave like a boxer, he knows Taekwondo?" He asks the crowd who was also both confused and excited.

"I said keep my mother's name out of your goddamn filthy mouth" Daniel sneers, anger spilling forth as he stares down at Ryohei heatedly.

For just a moment, the blonde's body tingled with a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time. Fear. Staring straight back, he pulls himself back up before settling into a fighting position again.

"Alright Doc, let's rumble" He calls, adrenaline rushing through his veins. Ryohei had thought for sure that it would be a quick and easy match, something to humiliate his opponent and keep them in check, yet ten minutes had passed and Daniel was still standing and ready. Ryohei was beginning to feel excited.

Letting out a grunt, Daniel goes to move his arms up but frowns at how constricting his white coat is. The coat was great at showing people who he was but right now it was a nuisance. He pulls off the offending coat and throws it back and out of the way, he didn't need to trip over it like an idiot.

Some ooh's and catcalls were heard but Daniel couldn't care less as he rolled his shoulders in a warming-up motion. His bare arms showcased that he wasn't just some beanpole of a Doctor, he worked out regularly so of course he had muscles.

Ignoring the whispers, Daniel takes a moment to think. Ryohei didn't seem to have any particular or special fighting style, he fought like a Mad Dog just as his title had suggested. But it was due to his out-of-control and chaotic style that seemed to surprise and overwhelm others. He was similar to Samuel in that aspect. Daniel should expect the unexpected from the other, from underhanded moves to even biting if the other felt like that.

He didn't know Jeet Kune do. He didn't have enough personal fighting experience to match the other person after getting a feel of their style. Boxing didn't seem the way to go either, if Ryohei suddenly switched it up and went for a takedown or grappling move, something that Daniel had yet to see the male do but wouldn't put it past him to know, it would be over for him. The Taekwondo seemed to take the blonde off guard but now his hands were raised to intercept any oncoming kicks, furthermore, he would need to keep his distance anyway to initiate any kicks and Ryohei personally seemed to like it more up close which meant less power for Daniel to put in his moves anyways.

Searching for an answer felt like hours but in reality, it was only moments. Analysing not only the fights he had watched of Ryohei but also the fights of others in the CC, Daniel felt like he had been exposed to more fighting styles in the last couple of weeks than he had in the last 18 years combined. Suddenly an idea pops into his head. What caught Ryohei off guard wasn't Taekwondo, it was the switch from defence to offence, from boxing to Taekwondo. If Daniel could keep the man guessing and keep switching it up then that was all he needed.

Suddenly Daniel was shifting the weight of his body. He spreads his legs apart shoulder width and leans his hips slightly to the side. Bending his dominant right foot and arching his back inwards he then tucks his chin into his chest. His arms move from a boxing stance to one that Daniel had seen Vasco using from the day before. Vasco was a beginner Muay Thai fighter, copying his stance and fixing it up a bit to how the fighters in Jinyoung's TV shows that he watches was easy. He clenches his glutes and makes sure his body is firm in place as he glares at Ryohei between his outward-facing palms.

"WHAT'S THIS? DAN-I MEAN DOCTOR PARK KNOW'S MUAY THAI?" Goo screams into James' mic, practically foaming at the mouth in disbelief much to the redhead's annoyance.

"What the hell" Ryohei remarks but he couldn't say anything else as Daniel approaches the man.

Daniel needed to finish this fast before anyone realised that he barely knew what the hell he was doing.

Sending a jab forward, Ryohei blocks it easily. What he didn't block easily was the leg kick that hit his thighs. Daniel didn't hold back from using his shins and putting as much power into it as possible. He hadn't kicked banana trees for hours at a day, his shins weren't made out of steel but they did enough damage for Ryohei's face to contort into pain.

He stumbles forward but it wasn't enough for the blonde to give in.

"You bitch!" He shouts as he tries to counterstrike with another kick at his abdomen, possibly aiming for the same spot as before as he knew that Daniel was currently sore there. Daniel doesn't let the hit make it as he jumps backwards. The kick misses but Ryohei's body is still swinging, Daniel barely moves his head out of the way from the spinning punch that was sent at him. Ryohei was surprised that his fist didn't make an impact but Daniel took his moment of surprise with his opponent's back facing him to take the opportunity to send a front kick forward.

The kick lands on the blonde's back which pushes over. Daniel doesn't pause as he aims a high kick down onto the spot that Ryohei was lying on, the Japanese bodyguard doesn't allow this as he twists out of the way and lands a sidekick to Daniel's foot, almost swiping the Doctor off his feet.

Gritting his teeth in pain, Daniel moves back as Ryohei gets back up. At this point, Ryohei was done talking shit and was keeping his mouth closed to concentrate. That alone tipped off to Daniel that the other was beginning to worry about his chances of winning.

Daniel throws his arms in a one-two move, both punches were fake as he aims another leg kick at Ryohei's thigh. At this point, he was sure that the kicks were painfully affecting the blonde. Attempting the move again so that Daniel could kick the man's thigh one more time, Ryohei seemed to have learnt his lesson as instead of waiting for the younger male to fake the punches he went right in with a front kick to Daniel's chest. That sends Daniel to the floor onto his butt.

Daniel's eyes widen as Ryohei lunges forward and sends a punch straight towards his exposed sternum. Recognising the dangers of this, Daniel barely raises his arms to block the hit in time and he winces at the force behind it. Throwing the fist off, he kicks Ryohei away before rolling himself upright and pushing himself back into his fighting stance. Another series of punches and jabs were directed at him and Daniel does his best to dodge and block.

The pick-up in Ryohei's speed in fighting meant one of two things. The first being that he was angry and the other was that he was hurting and wanted it to end fast. Realising that Ryohei was focused on his offence, his defence was slacking and so Daniel hit him with another leg kick to the thigh soon after weaving another right hook.

Ryohei couldn't hold back a loud, pained howl this time. The muscles and hamstrings were sore and tender at this point. One more hit and potentially the leg would never be the same again…well that would be the case if Daniel was a Muay Thai professional. But Daniel was above that, he didn't need to constantly abuse a weak spot of his opponent even if he could.

Ryohei hobbles backwards, his body weight was primarily on his left right leg, the one that wasn't injured. His arms were raised and he was desperately searching for an opening. His eyes flickered to the VIP booth for a slight second and Daniel almost felt bad for humiliating the blonde in front of his crush but he wouldn't hold back. Especially not after those comments directed at his mother.

Daniel could hit the back of Ryohei's bad knee and break the leg or sever the hamstring but honestly, that alone would be a pain to deal with both in the short and long term.

Ryohei was watching him warily before something hardened in his gaze. He lunges forward, an almost desperate attempt to one-up Daniel but the younger male doesn't allow that. He dodges the knee that was coming up at him and moves to right-hook the blonde in the face. Ryohei narrowly dodges by backing up but his eyes widen as his gaze shoots to Daniel's leg. He was bracing for another kick to his weak leg but rather than the leg, Daniel used a move that he had only seen a handful of times in person.

Ryohei's arm doesn't come up to shield his face in time as Daniel sends a Brazilian kick. Instantly Ryohei goes down, his eyes rolling to the back of his head as his body goes limp.

A moment passes. Seconds after Ryohei's body slumps to the floor everyone was waiting. They were waiting for the Mad Dog to get back up but soon it was made clear. Ryohei had been knocked out.

"AND WITHIN AN INSTANT, DOCTOR DANIEL PARK TAKES DOWN RYOHEI KARUDA WITH A KNOCKOUT, SWITCHING FROM MUAY THAI TO BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU?! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!" Goo hollers into the mic. Daniel wasn't sure how the man's voice wasn't ragged yet with all his screaming.

Daniel was attempting to calm his breathing down as he turned his gaze from the fallen Ryohei to the VIP booths. His eyes connected with Guns. He wanted the man to know that he had taken care of himself, he wasn't weak.

Gun's brows were raised high, clearly impressed by the outcome and soon enough he was throwing his head back and laughing like a maniac. Heads turn to watch the founder, confused as to why he was laughing but that would be between Daniel and Gun.

Turning back to Ryohei, Daniel winces at the unconscious body. Where the hell was the medic?

Backtracking, Daniel sucks in a breath.

"Shit, I'm medic" He hisses as he abandons his position and shoots forward to check on the male. He could hear the footsteps of the other medical team members but he ignored it as he checked that Ryohei was breathing.

He was, thank God. Would it be considered malpractice if Ryohei died in a fight with Daniel? As Daniel was attempting to help Ryohei regain consciousness, a body slid in next to him. Jay was quickly taking vitals and working effortlessly beside Daniel.

Ryohei lets out a soft groan and Daniel relaxes slightly. Gently supporting the blonde's head, he was talking in a soothing tone.

"Ryohei? Ryohei can you hear me?" He asks, furrowing his brows as Ryohei blinks away his pain and grogginess before his eyes clear up.

"An angel?" He hisses and Daniel's brow shoots upwards.

"Not exactly, Ryohei, do you remember where you are? Do you remember what happened?" Daniel continues as he takes note of the forming bruises on the Japanese man's neck and face.

"I…I" Ryohei was struggling to answer, scrunching his eyes shut before they snapped open again. Focusing on Daniel's face which was far too close to his, he lets out a squawk. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" He startles upright and Daniel narrowly dodges being head-butted by the other.

Ryohei was scrambling to his feet, letting out a couple of angry shouts and swearing. The volunteers and Jay move away from the angry and volatile blonde.

"What the fuck? WHAT THE FUCK?!" Ryohei screamed like a mantra, his arms raised defensively, he was backing up to the side of the arena as people were closing in on him.

"Ryohei, Nomen, calm down" Daniel rushes upwards, arms outstretched to calm the confused blonde.

"Did I lose? Did I fucking lose to you?!" He screams and Daniel winces before nodding slightly.

"The fights over and you are injured, Ryohei I need you to stand down and come with us so we can check you over and make sure you're okay" Daniel reasons and Ryohei scoffs.

The crowd seemed to be getting a laugh over the situation whereas a few other people at least had the decency to shut up and watch silently.

"I didn't lose, fuck I didn't!" Ryohei screams. "Again, let's have a rematch!" He didn't seem to be giving up and Daniel wanted to rip his hair out.

"Are we going to have to sedate him?" Mira calls over the noise and that seems to startle Ryohei even more.

"What the hell did you say you bitch?" Before the blonde could lunge out at the female, Daniel intercepts the punch that was sent her way. He grabs the wrist and twists it around his back, using his body weight and momentum he pushes Ryohei's stomach first into the wall behind them. Hooking his left foot over the arm he was holding onto, he used his body weight to keep the male against the wall before pushing his now free arm against Ryohei's shoulder.

Ryohei grunts from against the wall.

"Ryohei enough!" Daniel shouts, his voice firm as he glares down at his patient. "You've lost, it's over. Enough is enough" He hisses as Ryohei stops struggling.

"Fuck" He hisses one last time.

"I need you to calm down and take a step back to look at the situation. We're done here, there's no need to take it even further and hurt others'' He reasons before leaning down closer. "Can you do that for me? Can you at least be a good boy and let me treat you?" Daniel asks, breathing hard as he is exhausted from having to handle the blonde, Ryohei relaxes in his hold.

There was a moment of silence between the two before Ryohei nodded.

"I need a verbal agreement here, Ryohei. Come on boy, let me hear you say it" Daniel adds and Ryohei sucks in a deep breath through his teeth.

"I won't fight, I promise…just get off me" Ryohei replies softly and Daniel nods.

Pushing his weight off the man, he unhooks his hand before placing a couple of steps between them. Watching Ryohei's every move, Daniel notices the bodyguard turning around slowly, his eyes flickering from Daniel's face before turning to the floor. A sudden flush blooms onto Ryohei's pale face and the male bites his lips to stop himself from talking.

"Alright, good boy. Let's get you out to the medical bay, can you do that for me?" Daniel asks in an even tone.

Ryohei nodded, his ears seemed to burn so bright as if they would fall off but he was walking towards the set-up area. Daniel lets out a sigh of relief, running a hand through his hair before he pinches the bridge of his nose. He was definitely going to have a pounding headache later.

"Dr Park" Mira calls and Daniel opens his eyes to see the female holding his white coat. She offers it to the man who accepts it.

"Thanks, Mira" He smiles at her and she flushes. "Let's get going" He throws the coat back on and walks off the stage. He had enough of the spotlight on him for the rest of the year.

By the time Daniel had made it back to the setup area, people were giving him a wide berth of an area. Jay was finishing his check-up on Ryohei and determining his injuries.

"I hit his right leg pretty hard a couple of times, his neck seems fine since he's moving without much pain but it'll bruise" Daniel rattles off, touching the male's thigh much to Ryohei's surprise.

"W-What are you doing?!" He asks and Daniel rolls his eyes.

"Stop complaining, we need to bandage the area. Take off your pants" Daniel insists and Ryohei lets out a shout.

"N-NO! Not out here…can we go back to your office? Please?" Ryohei insists and Daniel is caught off guard by the word 'please' he hadn't expected it. Letting out another aggravated sigh before nodding.

"Alright"

The move to the medical room didn't take long, seeing as they had been the last fight of the night he didn't see how anyone else could get injured so he went along with the request. Once they were in the room, the volunteers were excused and asked to fix up the setup area which left only Jay and Daniel.

"Alright, take your pants off" Daniel insists as he turns around to wash his hands and put sterile gloves back on. Jay was assisting him and once he turned back around to Ryohei he was awkwardly sitting in one of the beds, pants off and hiding himself with as much decency as his shirt would give him.

Rolling his eyes, Daniel kneels next to the blonde to take note of the damage. The bruises were a nasty dark colour that bloomed over most of his right thigh.

"It'll be tender and sore for a While, if the pain is too much take some ibuprofen but other than that you don't seem too bad" Daniel hums as he runs a hand down the lines of muscles under the bruises, pressing not too harshly as he didn't want to aggravate the injury even more. "You're lucky I decided not to break your leg" he hisses, choosing to hide his threat in a joking tone.

Looking up at Ryohei, Daniel finds that the male's face is bright red again. Frowning, Daniel shifts upwards and reaches out to feel his forehead.

"Do you have a fever? You're running quite hot" Daniel huffs but Ryohei shakes his head.

"I don't have a fever," Ryohei responds.

"Yeah? Then tell me why your face is burning so red" Daniel sighs as he grabs the Japanese man's face and squishes it slightly between his fingers. Ryohei seems to let out a squeak instead of answering.

Daniel was waiting patiently when there was a cough. Daniel turns to see an amused Jay pointing downwards. Following where his nurse was pointing to, Daniel choked out a laugh.

"Looks like someone's excited" Daniel snorts as he backs away from Ryohei who looks horrified at being discovered.

"SHUT UP!" Ryohei shouts.

"Oh come on, it's a normal reaction Ryohei. Getting an accidental erection like this, as weird as it is, it doesn't mean that it's the end of the world" Daniel hums as he places some distance between them.

"That's the thing Doc, this isn't normal…not for me at least" Ryohei hisses, his bruised pride seeming to take a back seat in this. "I've only ever gotten hard for one person in my entire life and that was Mitsuki. Any other woman or man, I've never been able to get it on and now my dick comes to life after our fight? What the hell does this shit mean?" Ryohei curses and Daniel cocks his head to the side.

"Sex dysfunction?" Daniel whispers to Jay who shrugs.

"I DO NOT HAVE A SEX DYSFUNCTION! SEE? I HAVE A HARD-ON, SEE? I'M FINE!" Ryohei roars before letting out a pitiful whine as he covers his red face with his hand.

Letting out another amused sigh, Daniel speaks.

"Whilst I'm both flattered and horrified by this, Ryohei you can take care of yourself in the bathroom just make sure to clean up any mess you make" He nudges the box of tissues forward and Ryohei explodes again.

It takes a while before Ryohei takes the offer and it takes even longer until he's finished and bandaged up. The blonde insisted that he leave and not stay over the night and no amount of talking from Daniel made him change his decision. Once Ryohei was gone, Daniel slumped in his chair.

"Let's hope we don't have any more difficult patients" Daniel laughs as he takes note of Jay's exhausted expression. "Even working in the hospitals don't sign you up for embarrassing situations like that" He adds and Jay nods.

The two of them cleaned up and soon Daniel was dismissing Jay. Left alone in the room, Daniel peels off his coat before also removing his shirt. Wincing at the movement, he was soon greeted with his own dark bruises. Despite the victory, Ryohei did manage to get him good in a couple of spots and now Daniel was left to deal with the consequences by himself.

As he was wrapping up his sides, the door opened and Daniel was startled as a figure waltzed in without a care in the world. Gun pauses when he notices the state the Doctor is in but he simply huffs in amusement.

"Licking your wounds, Doctor?" Gun asks teasingly and Daniel rolls his eyes.

"Aren't you supposed to be mad at me?" Daniel retorts as he turns away, back facing the founder.

"I was but then you proved me wrong and I decided that maybe you weren't all talk" Gun simply states and the younger male could hear the elder approach him. "When you said that you could defend yourself I didn't think it would be like that, I'm severely impressed, Doc" He states in a sultry tone, hands coming up to brush against Daniel's bareback.

Shivering and feeling goosebumps arise, Daniel turns around and swats his hands away.

"I didn't fight for your approval" He hisses, glaring at the taller male.

"Yeah? Then why'd you look at me like that when your fight ended?" Gun leans in closer, smirk on his lips.

"It was to show you that I didn't need you or your stupid words" Daniel snorts as he backs away, finishing with the bandages on his body before moving to bandage his bruised arm. That takes a little more effort and precision but Gun surprisingly moves to help him.

"Okay sure, I may have been harsh on you the day prior and yeah you can defend yourself but in all honesty, if it weren't for your element of surprise then I'm sure you would have lost big time. You won't be beating anyone else after today" Gun hums.

"Excuse me?" Daniel squawks before hissing as Gun pulls the bandages too tightly.

"To the people who are idiots and don't know much about fighting, seeing you do boxing, Taekwondo and Muay Thai probably had them creaming their pants but to those who are more experienced like me, I would say that you were sloppy" Gun answers honestly. "I can tell from a mile away that you were just copying moves you'd seen before. Jason Yoon, Johan Seong, Euntae Lee. Your copying skills are like Johan, they're impressive alone but nothing special at all" he deduces and Daniel grumbles under his breath.

Gun lets out another huff of amusement, finishing with the bandage before tilting Daniel's face to look up at him.

"Although that doesn't mean I couldn't recognise that you have some foundations, you have the potential to be a deadly fighter Daniel Park, let me nurture it" Gun insists as he tucks a strand of hair behind Daniel's ear.

The Doctor's breath hitches, feeling the gentle yet calloused hands against his skin.

"That would defeat the purpose of me being a Doctor, wouldn't it?" Daniel tilts his head away and Gun chuckles.

"You can still be a Doctor, just be a badass one that knows how to fight properly and defend themselves" Gun states.

"So what are you suggesting? That you'll train me? Didn't you call me a brat on multiple occasions? Why would you want to do all this?" Daniel questions, shaking his head in disbelief when the man's hands rest on his waist.

"Because I don't want you to waste your potential, I want to cultivate you and watch you blossom under some proper training. It'll be fun" Gun insists and Daniel snorts.

Training with Gun. It would be tough and annoying, both the training part and the dealing with each other's presence but the thought of actually learning to properly fight and not just tussle occasionally with his uncle? That sounded interesting.

"I'm not going to be fighting in the CC again," Daniel tells the male firmly.

"Sure, just think of this as a hobby, some extra working out, maybe even as a source of stress relief or a way of learning how to defend yourself. If you work at the CC, there will be future situations where you'll have to deal with difficult fighters and it'd be great if the medical help knew how to keep himself safe. I'll be satisfied knowing that I'm shaping you" Gun whispers before stepping away. "Training starts tomorrow, meet me in the gym at our usual time" With a wave and not another word from Daniel, Gun was gone.

Staring at the spot where the founder had been standing, Daniel lets out a frustrated huff. He hadn't even agreed but the man was already making up his choice for him.

"How annoying" Grabbing his shirt, he puts it on before slumping in his seat.

Reaching up, his fingers linger on the spot that Gun had touched.

"It's just for fun, my benefit" Daniel repeats before turning around to finish up the night's report.
